Since you're probably going to mega evolve him, go ahead and do an Apricorn one. Steelix doesn't have anything really great to abuse Sheer Force with especially if, again, you're going to mega evolve him. Although if you're talking about LC, Onix's best set is Sturdy + Berry Juice, so you can still go for Apricorn for the swag, or whatever the kids call it these days.

Won't Steelix still be NU without a Mega stone? Or does getting a megastone suddenly ban the pokemon even without a megastone in low tiers?

So yea, I bred a lot and collected a lot of pokemon in unique ball, I now need a lot of advice on what to do next...Can't decide These will be divided into 2 Routes, Route 1 being the simplest to do, but something I have lost interest in..

- Breed Shinies from what you have collected + take my collections even further(Bored of breeding)
- Learn RNG and do that along with breeding(would love to, but I had a little niggle while trying to get Bank...Dunno if I will be allowed to try again after our money got mysteriously lost...The money was out of our bank account but I never got the balance needed to buy bank on my DS.
- SR for these Events you still haven't SRed(SW Gengar, Pokeball vivillion and the pumpkaboo)and other pokes you havent SRed for(Moltres, Zygarde)
- Then reset your X(Breeds move manually to Y)and choose fennekin/chespin and SR for Xerneas Modest HP Fire(31/x/31/30/31/30) Zapdos Timid 31/x/31/31/31/31 or Articuno modest/Timid HP Ground(31/x/31/30/30/31), Zygarde(in non dusk ball)31/31/31/x/31/31 undecided nature and Mewtwo undecided.
I would choose Route 2. For the events, I wouldn't even bother SRing pumpkaboo. Just maybe some ok spread and nature or something. For xerneas, I would go either Lux ball or great ball (quick ball and dive ball have been done to death). For zapdos, ultra ball is the way to go. But if you want to do articuno instead, then dive (which is surprisingly almost never seen). For zygarde, I recommend either dusk or lux ball. Lux is almost never seen and nest is barely seen as well.

I think certain Pokemon get removed from the tier they are normally in. Isn't Charizard considered OU and Mawile is Uber even though both of those Pokemon without mega stones would be nowhere near those tiers?
It doesn't ban the use of the Pokemon without the Mega Stone. Kanga without her Mega Stone is NU, Mawile is OU without her mega stone, and so on. But other stuff can happen in ORAS to let Steelix jump up a tier or so.

Well, since the tiers are based on usage, Pinsir is OU. If the Pinsirite got banned tomorrow, Pinsir would still be OU, but it would most likely drift down after a bit of time. Same with any other Mega that's only in a certain tier because of its Mega forme.

Toss, Gengar really needs speed to outpace certain threats. Timid is obviously the best nature b/c of this, though if you want to be unique I suppose you could try Modest to hit harder.
Agreeing with pumpkaboom. It really needs speed. When I was SRing mine, I was aiming for hasty/naive/timid/modest with a Iv spread of 20+/xx/20+/28+/20+/28+. Course we know how that turned out :p.

I can breed an Impish Prankster Sableye with Recover if you'd like. It would be in a Pokeball if that's OK with you.
Toss speed is too low. Modest/timid is the way to go.
