Smogon Simple Questions/Suggestions

Hey guys, I have a small issue. For some reason my chimchar has a black star on it like you know where it tells you if its shiny instead of red its black, Im kind of confused.

was the black star surrounded by other symbols like:

Okay. So I want to upload a Gif for my avatar - But apparently the file size is too large? I didn't think this would be that big. Any ideas?

That gif's size is 283 KB and the max size for non-badged user that they can have in their avatars is 100 KB, you can resize it using some tools that you can easily find with a simple google search.
 
Why are items like Mystic Water and Sharp Beak used in some of your analyses when it only provides a 10% boost to power, when the Plates (so Splash Plate and Sky Plate respectively) provide a 20% boost?

No, I meant if you click on the Strategy Pokédex link in the home page, and just click on a pokemon for information, you cannot find the Check and Counter section anymore. I have been a regular on this website for a few years now and I know that this website has gone through a massive change in layout about 1-2 years ago. Before the system was changed, I can see the C&C section (Even the "Other Option" Section too) directly for any pokemon. But right now, I can't see them anymore and I wonder where it goes? I probably should have asked this question long time ago but I didn't. Anyway I appreciate your effort :)

Their still being written, don't worry. It's just that they aren't displayed on the dex online. The higher ups are still debating on which portions should be online etc etc, the dex is still in beta. If you want to see the Checks and Counters section, go here and look for the Pokemon!
