This is the first team I have built myself without any help. Personally I think it has potential but of course, there will always be flaws with every team, but I am not the most experienced pokemon player either. Thank you for the feedback in advance!
Notable Threats:
CM Clefable
CM Mega Sableye
Zard-Y
Curserlax
Hazards
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Atk / 88 Def / 116 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
Scizor is the core of this team as I wanted to use it in a team and is the mega of this team and the physical attacker. The HP and SpD invests allow Scizor to survive certain attacks, then allowing it to roost (if it can take another) to heal up or switch out into another poke. Swords dance allows Scizor to be even more lethal, given it's mega ability, allowing bullet punch to out speed others (due to priority) and deal even more damage, the knock off is there to deal with ghost and psychic pokes and hinder potential stall pokemon.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
I chose Landorus-T in this team because of it's bulk and it's potential to turn battles around. He will play the physically defensive pokemon in this team, as well as the hazard setter. Stealth rocks allows me to shut out potential threats such as talonflame and zards to an extent (given they take 50% damage from stealth rocks) limiting their potential to sweep. EQ allows me to deal with fire types such as heatran and covers for Scizors weakness to fire. U-turn and knock off are their for situational needs, u-turn allowing me to switch out and knock off their for the damage and to stop potential stalls.
Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Earthquake
I chose Latios because this is one of the most threatening pokemon out there. It will be the special attacker on this team and was ahead of any others by a mile. With its SpA ev investment and speed investment along side the timid nature, it is able to out speed most pokes, and if they aren't overly specially defensive, can be seriously damaged by a draco, or even killed. Recover allows for Latios to have increased survivability. Psyshock is Latios' stab move and can also deal with poison types which can hurt Clefable.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
Rotom is without doubt one of my favourite pokemon which is why it made this team, as well as being immensely bulky. It has great SpD. and HP stats which is why it takes the specially defensive slot on this team. Volt switch allows it to switch out should it ever be threatened, and get of some damage in the process. Pain split gives it increased survivability and also allows it to wear down other pokes to a certain degree. Will-O-Wisp allows it to break stalls and wear down potential threats. Hydro pump is there for damage.
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Moonblast
- Heal Bell
- Moonlight
Clefable is in this team due to how bulky and annoying it can be. It will be the support / cleric of the team that is their to cure any status effects and heal up other pokemon. Twave is their to slow down, and sometimes stop dead, overly fast pokemon, such as latios / latias, which makes it easier for other pokes to come in and take the kill. Moonblast is their for damage and to deal with dark / fighting types which can be of annoyance (such as machamp, who has put in some work againts this team). Heal bell and wish are there to make sure Clefable can keep the team working without any problems.
Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Sleep Talk
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
Talonflame makes this team because of how threatening and versatile this pokemon is. In this team it will play the role of a lead pokemon (because of its fantastic speed stat) and a revenge killer (if it is not the most viable lead) U-turn allows it to escape difficult situations upon switch in (if it gets predicted to be my switch). Sleep talk is part of this moveset in case it gets put to sleep, and still allows talonflame to put in some work for my team. Flare blitz and brave bird are both very damaging moves, and given its gale wings ability, allows Talonflame to gain priority when using brave bird.
EDIT (1/26/2015): Changes made to Scizor, Latios, Rotom-W, Clefable and Talonflame.
Also looking to replace one un-needed poke for a hazard remover / setter
EDIT 2 (1/26/2015): Had a few battles on PS since I made changes to this team. So far there haven't been too many threats which I cannot deal with but fighting pokes are punishing to me, and as talon is lead / revenge killer, if rocks are up fighting types can demolish me.
