Is there going to be a blacklisted Pokemon section added to the viability ranking thread?
BLACKLISTED POKEMON: Pokemon that are not only unviable in OU, but also make the thread shitty whenever they are brought up because most people that argue about them getting ranked are inexperienced players using bad arguments.

Hello, I'm new here and have a question: Why isn't Mega Bunny suspected? I feel like this shit's broken as fuck. Return/ HJK gives it perfect coverage and fake out is just a batch to handle. So, why exactly is that thing still around?

There are a plethora of Pokemon that check it, such as slowbro / mega slowbro, celebi, gliscor, cresselia, mega altaria, talonflame, and common choice scarf users such as landorus-T outspeed and KO it.

Also, welcome to smogon n-n taking that back

While Mega Lopunny can be extremely tricky to deal with because it doesnt need coverage moves and have a plethora of options in Fake Out, Toxic, Ice Punch, Encore and some more; The nature of the metagame make dealing with it rather easily. Many pokemon can tank a hit like those mentioned above. Breloom and Conkeldurr has revenge kill with mach punch, Clefable can take a hit from it anytime with a specific EV spread. Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Alakazam revenge kill.

It can be tricky to deal with it, no doubt, but by no means broken.

How the fuck is Altaria a check if Ice Punch does like 70% to it and probably kills it after rocks? Scarfed Pokis are not really good answers in general...

So what you wanna say is, if I don't run any of above mentioned polis, I deserve to lose? That's kinda fucked up logic. Also, my OP doesn't only have MBunny, he has 5 other polis that can wreck above mentioned "checks".

Please stop cursing so much, thanks.

Mega Lopunny does not always have room for Ice Punch as other choices like substitute, healing wish and baton pass are really helpful. There are many other Pokemon that I did not list which can take a hit and KO mega lopunny. I highly doubt it will be suspect tested. Its really good, but nowhere near broken.

In addition, you can look here for a list of mega lopunny checks: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/oras-ou-role-compendium-v2.3527423/

Not gonna happen, thanks!

No, seriously. Every freaking team right now has Bunny/ scarfed Lando/ Talonflame. What am I supposed to do against this? Using those 3 in a team gives the player an easier time winning than me trying to win with a "balanced, decent OU Team". Those 3 things limit team building soooo much, it's not fun anymore. I mean the power creep OU got with ORAS is ridiculous (Megatron/ M-Sableye/ MBunny etc.)...

Scarf Keldeo + Birdspam check is already a good start if you really want to do something about that core.

But only bird spam checks I know are bulky LandoT/ Rotom/ Ryperior/ MAero. Ryperioir does literally NOTHING apart from walling bird and MAero costs me the Mega. So, am I just limited to Lando/ Wash?

And scarfed Keldeo is too obvious, they'll just switch out to their Rotom etc...

Mega Pinsir has fallen in usage so the only bird you really need to worry about is Talonflame
Talonflame is checked/countered by Tyranitar, Rotom-W, Heatran, Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Ampharos, Suicune, Mega Manectric, Magneton, Mega Diancie, Slowbro, Hippowdon (with rock move) and Thundurus and even without those things you can also use stuff like Garchomp and Ferrothorn to get chip damage off in conjuction with brave bird recoil. Bisharp and spinblockers that can keep your rocks on also help vs. Talonflame.

kk, thanks. Gonna try out some of this stuff.

But my main problem still isn't solved: If I use any of those, I automatically have lower chances of winning than just going with the flow and using MBunny/ LandoT/ Talonflame... Isn't that a bit too overcentralising?

The issue is your perception. The idea that you automatically have a greater chance to lose if you don't use that core is not a view held by everyone. If enough people felt this way, something would be done, but the reality is few people really believe that you have to run that core to increase your chances of winning. In fact, many find Mega Metagross and Mega Sableye to be more centralizing than other megas.

To elaborate more, Chesnaught+Tran, regular Slowbro+ Ferro, and ScarfTTar+Mega Scizor are all cores that work against the three mons you mentioned, in only two slots.

^ That core really isn't all that amazing since M-Slowbro and Hippowdon wall all 3 members.

OK, another question. Why exactly is complex banning (banning Protean Greninja/ Speedboost Blaziken/ etc.) a "bad idea"? All I read in older threads is "it's not part of Smogons philosophy" and stupid arguments like those, but I never read why it is ACTUALLY believed to be a bad idea...

Cause then people will make up their own bans and ideas for the most arbitrary of reasons, hence why it's discouraged.

Another stupid argument I hear all the time... "But then people will say that LV50 Arceus is not broken in OU, duh?!"

Seriously, it's not about some "crazy reasons to justify XY", it's common sense to just ban the Pokis with the ability that makes it broken. Why can't we decide that Pokemon with different Abilities are considered different Pokemon, so that the one with the shitty ability can stay? Why was there a special case for the Mega (in which case only the items were banned)? Wanna tell me that Blaze Blaziken is still (Speedboost) Blaziken while Mega-Blaziken is a totally different Pokemeon? That's some fucked up logic...

First off I'm gonna ask you watch your language. Secondly if you have a legitimate problem with the way clauses are done you can speak to the OU council here through a personal message. If you're upset about something don't lay your grievances in the threads in the manner you're doing it. You asked a simple question, I gave you a simple answer. If you want a more in depth answer you should take it up with the policy makers, not here.
