"Elo" "GXE" "Gliko1" "Coil"
Elo is like your rating. They use it to determine your ranking on the ladder. GXE is basically the estimated percent that you will win a game, so for example if your GXE is 50%, you have a 1/2 chance of winning that battle. I'm not sure what Gliko1 is, but I do know what coil is. Coil is only used during suspect tests, like when a pokemon is suspected to be banned from a certain tier. During suspect tests, you need to get to a certain rating to qualify for the suspect test to vote. As long as you maintain a decent win to loss ratio, your coil will slowly go up.

What's the standard Custap Skarm set? How many attack EVs does it need to OHKO standard M.Diancie with iron head?
You dont even need any attack evs to OHKO Mega Diancie lol

0 Atk Skarmory Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Diancie: 268-316 (111.2 - 131.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Here is what the set should look something like:

name: Custap Lead
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Spikes
move 3: Taunt / Iron Head
move 4: Brave Bird
item: Custap Berry
ability: Sturdy
nature: Jolly / Hasty
evs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Yeah, you could run max HP but then you have less of a chance going down to Sturdy range.

Don't need any attack EVs.
Just run 252 Speed EVs, 252 HP, and Jolly.
You would also want to run 0 HP IVs so that brave bird does more damage to yourself.
edit: such ninja much wow

Wouldn't it be best to run 0 IVs in Defense, HP, and Sp Def with a Hasty nature, in order to make sure you go down to Custap range as easily as possible?

Yeah, you would want to run 0 in def, HP, and sdef, so you can get to sturdy range (or custap range) faster, and then brave bird will kill yourself. (Not a BKC reference)
edit: lol 2 ninjas in 3 minutes

I was just curious what set Meloetta ran in OU, since it's D ranked, and thus more than likely has a well defined set. I checked out the OU usage stats (it has more usage than Mega Sceptile btw), and found out that it does. Could someone please explain this set to me, because it's the set ≈85% of Meloetta run.

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Psyshock
- Skill Swap / Hidden Power Fire

My main questions are a) why this over Reuniclus, and b) why Skill Swap, when Mega Sableye walls you no matter what?

Thanks guys :)

tbh, I don't really understand what that set does either. I'm pretty sure the most viable set in OU back in XY was with relic song, close combat, return, and knock off, since pirouette forme is way better imo than normal forme. Mega Sableye basically walls meloetta no matter what.

AV Meloetta used to be a niche Gengar check in XY. After Mega Sableye was released, it became near useless for two reasons:
  1. Mega Sableye walls it
  2. 96 SDef Calm Mega Sableye checks LO Gengar pretty hard
Reason #234 why the lower ranks need to get massively revamped.

What was #233 again?

Why is Thundurus-T S or A rank last year but only C rank sucker now?
Wait, when you say "last year" do you mean in BW? I'm no expert in BW, but if I had to guess, it's because you can use Thundurus-I in XY, and Thundurus-I has a much more appealing speed and ability in XY/ORAS. In contrast, what used to be a godly speed tier for Thundy-T is now considered a little above average for an offensive threat. As far as I know, it's never had a high rank in XY/ORAS.

I'm not a BW expert, but it probably had to do with several factors.
  • Volt Absorb let it eat Electric attacks like Thunder and Thunder Wave (also helped stop Jirachi) in a Rain-heavy meta, providing team support for Water-types.
  • Speed tier was better comparatively then than now.
  • Thundy-I was banned so no opportunity cost.
  • Less powerful priority running around made Agility and Double Dance better. Resisting Mach Punch and Bullet Punch really helped too.
  • Most powerful Thunder in a tier filled with Rain.

Hey, is Brightpowder considered to be under evasion clause? I've seen people using it, so I guess not. My real question would be why not, then? Just curious.

It's not covered under evasion clause. It's not exactly competitive, but the 10% evasion increase is considered inconsequential enough that it burdens the user more than his opponent, thus there's no real need to deal with it.

I remember Mantine used to be D-rank. What on earth was it's niche; and why is it unranked now?
I think it was a Defogger that could handle Charizard Y, Aegislash, Keldeo and something else, don't think that was the only reason though

That's pretty much it. It was basically used if you had a team with defensive Gyarados but also needed a Defogger. It countered Specs Keldeo, Landorus, and Mega Charizard Y, so it wasn't really dead weight.

As for why it isn't as good now, CM Keldeo is now more common than specs, and Mantine would have to run Air Slash to beat it, which it can't really fit. Other than that, it's pretty much people realizing that defensive Gyarados is so much better than it, and that it'd be better to put hazard support elsewhere on the team than to switch out dos for manta.

once I get my COIL up, how do they link my PS username to my Smogon username, assuming they're different?
You need to make a screenshot proving you reached 2700 COIL (type /rank and show your username) and post the screenshot in the upcoming alt confirmation thread

I'm not sure what your question is. What do you mean by linking your PS and Smogon accounts?
If you're referring to this
17273a0efa.png
then that feature has not been added yet.

Edit: if the above is what you're talking about there is your answer.
