The Most Facepalm Worthy Thing You Have Done in All of Pokémon

Dragonair could of had an awesome design for its evolution, but I do agree that Dragonite is cute in its own way. If it wasn't so fat, and didn't have the derpy wings, I would actually like it. And maybe different colors.

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away
I realized that you could skip Winona until the end. This was before I realized that Fly was good.

I didn't play that file for years, then started again. I ended up wiping my save file at the Elite four because I didn't realize that I never beat Winona.

Speaking of Fly…

I managed to beat FireRed, and complete all of the end-game without managing to find Fly. Wtf.
Oh man, I feel you. I had no idea how to use HMs if you couldn't activate them by pressing "A" in front of the obstacle. Which meant I walked around everywhere. Until when day when my friend taught me how to use it.

Yeah, XD. But literally, i Looked it up so many times and LITERALLY could not find the girl that had Fly. Where is it again? Oh, right. *gets there* where was it again. DERP

Edit: woah i said literally twice in the same sentence. *cringes*

When I was 7, my friend told me that in SoulSilver, you could obtain Celebi by doing this complex series of moves, selects, and flying patterns, and I did it all out of my undying love for celebi, only to find out that my friend was having way too much fun.

I cried for 3 hours.

I had to spam B every time. I for some reason never had an Everstone on me.
I generally keep members on my ingame team unevolved if their design is great, so I can completely understand you there. My Buneary, Pignite, Fletchinder and Bunnelby are all in Lv.100 now, so they can't evolve any further, but I've never regretted my choice and still use them on regular basis because I like them just as they are. :P

When I first played Pokemon, I was trying to train Clamperl to evolve (into something)
I trained it to level 72 thinking "why wouldn't this thing evolve?" and was also thinking It'd reach level 100 evolving. I deleted the data (on accident) and it still took me several months to know that it requires an item. Also, when I fought level 45 Kyogre earlier in the game (with a level 53 Sceptile as the only Pokemon I actively trained before beating Elite Four), I had no Master Ball (they had to give the game 1 master ball on a place so hidden and if you miss it, you never got one) I let Kyogre faint and saved the game after. This was because I thought "Eh, my Sceptile is stronger". I regretted that. Battling Elite Four with Sceptile as my only Pokemon high enough level to beat them, I lost so many times (especially to Glacia). By the time I finally beat Elite Four, my Sceptile was level 86!

When I was little and played Pokemon Blue, I was scared to go into the first cave (Mt. Moon). I trained up my Squirtle into a level 38 Blastoise on just the wild Pokemon outside Mt Moon in the grass.

...How the hell did I not get bored?

I think people have heard this one before, but not being able to get out the door in Red. In my defense, the only thing that pointed the entrance out was the rug, and it looked like a horizontal path at the time.
I mean, look at this:

That rug looks somewhat like a path, don't lie.

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about, because I've done the same thing myself! Stupid wild Pokémon that wants to battle!
Exactly!

Just remembered me my another facepalm-worthy mistake. In Yellow, it took me good few tens of minutes to find out that the carpet lying on the floor is exit..

In FireRed:

Literally only training up my Charizard, Zapdos, and Starmie. By the time I hit the Elite Four, I had a Charizard/Zapdos/Starmie in the high 50s, and I had Nidoking, Victreebel, and something else in the high thirties.

It took me years of replaying leafgreen, over and over to end up looking it over on the internet, and discovering that the the door of cave that held the sapphire u needed to give celio just needed the move "cut" so you can open it , and that was after having tried all HMs and dig, but not cut.

Being torn apart of wether to make my pokemon learn mega kick or mega punch (two guys are at the exit of a cave and u can only pick 1) , and that pokemon was a Blastoise... which set was hydrocannon, surf, megapunch (tough call), and something else thinking that was the most amazing blastoise one can have.

While scrolling through my pc after i got my first pokemon game, and exploring the viridian forest population i had caught (well i guess not that much actually), i pressed release on a caterpie. then felt the need to do it to weedle and almost all the rest, becuz i "must" and then getting super emotional about it...
After doing that i just thougth the pc was a horrible place and remained scared of putting my blastoise in it for the entire remaining of the game.

Being so keen an exited about battling that i reached sabrina (5th or 6th gym) with a level 70 blatoise

Entering a house and speaking to a person inside that asked to trade me a spearow for something(bellprout or machop i think) so being the stupid kid i was i called my brother to show him how i'm gonna rip him off and switch in something else and still make the trade with a lame pokemon. i scrolled through my 6 pokemon party and said "let's give him this small weak bird". Let's just say that bird was not a pidey. Learn your pokemon name kids.

I was at a cousin's house playing my Pokemon Fire Red when I finally got myself a Porygon from the Game Corner. I was so happy it took me hours to get the exact number of damn coins to get for it. My cousin asked to play it for like a while so I let her when I was playing the computer doing online stuff. I asked for it back so she gave it to me. I asked her "how come I can't find my porygon?" She said "I withdrew it and put it in your party" I checked my party and asked her again "which one did you press in the options?" She pointed the one saying release.... I was like "...." (This is why I never trusted other people with my pokemon games ever again)

I also remember this other one when I get bored in RSE, so like I love overbuying since I had a crap load of money and I didn't know how to use it. I had like 20 lists of 99 mails of every single kind. By the time I needed something important like Poke Balls and Stuff, I only has 5 Pokecash like literally....

You can learn both MK and MP.

Back in Emerald, I liked my Blaziken and Sableye so much that I only trained them. My Blaziken actually hit its final form before I faced Winona.
I also liked Night Shade's animation so much that I kept that on my Sableye...over Shadow Ball.
By the time I hit the Elite Four, I had Level 70 Blaziken and Level 71 Sableye, and my next highest Pokémon was a Level 44 Breloom.

I never did get past Glacia. Rage quit that run.
