So let's say my TSV is 1234, and Mr. X's TSV is also 1234. I send him 30 random eggs I bred myself. Will they all be shiny when Mr. X hatches them for me?
No, only the egg with ESV 1234. You're matching the egg's ESV with a trainer's TSV.
I have questions about TSV and ESV. What's the difference between the two?
TSV on the trainer's, while ESV is on the egg. TSV is generated by your SID (cmiiw), ESV is generated when the egg is produced.
If I understand it right, everybody has a TSV. That TSV is always the same for that person. But someone else can have the same TSV, despite having a different OT and ID. If those people hatch eggs for each other, the hatch will always be shiny. Is this true?
No, only the egg with the matching SV.

Edit: 500 (?)

Yes

The first one is not true. Just because you breed eggs, doesn't mean that they'll have your Trainer Shiny Value as the Egg Shiny Value.

Those 30 random eggs, would have 30 random ESVs.

Hi guys, I really need Meloetta, Keldeo, Shaymin and Manaphy.
Tell me what you want, I'll tell you if I can get it or if I already have it.

Huh. Now I don't understand it anymore. If I breed two eggs, will they both have a different TSV or the same TSV? If different, does that mean that whenever I want someone to hatch a shiny for me I have to approach someone else? (Because if different, my TSV is always different per egg..)

So then this is false?

An egg gets an ESV (Egg Shiny Value). If the ESV matches someone's TSV (Trainer Shiny Value), it will hatch shiny.

PS: Yes, the statement is false.

The TSV is a random number between ~1-4000 generated when you start your adventure/game. There is no way to change it except for starting a new game.

ESVs are random numbers between ~1-4000, that eggs have as soon as you receive them from the day care.

IF the TSV of the player and the ESV of the egg match when it hatches, it will hatch as a shiny.

That is false.

EDIT: The same eggs would hatch as shinies for you and Mr. X, but not all of your eggs.
For example: If I had an egg with the random shiny value 1234, I could ask you or Mr.X to hatch it for me and it would come out as a shiny.

Okay, it seems clear now. But since every of your eggs has a diff ESV, you have to approach someone else every time you want someone to hatch a shiny for you, right?

Also, how do you find out what your own TSV is and which ESV your egg has?

Looking for Female Dream Ball Iron Fist Timburr spitbacks. I can offer Female Technician Scyther's in Sport Balls w/ Defog. I do have other stuff to offer as well. :]

I'm going start a new save file on my Heart Gold cartridge. Planning on SR'ing legendaries and catching neat Pokemon in Apricorn Balls. Any tips on what I should and shouldn't do? NPCs I should avoid talking to? Et cetera.

Just going to say unless SR'ing legends is for your personal satisfaction/personal use, its not worth it if you're Sr'ing them with intent on trading. RNGing yields in better trade value usually.

Tips? Hoard apricorn balls.

Is that range accurate? I just saw a TSV 4041 on reddit today.

On another note relating to what ash1236 is saying why not try RNG abusing

Yeah, it's pretty much for personal satisfaction. And thanks for the hoarding tip, will definitely keep an eye on that.
