What happens if the weather changes on the same turn that a pokemon uses one turn solar beam? (i.e. would would happen if say, Hippowdon switched in on M-Charizard Y's Solar Beam?)

I've been looking into Hoopa-U's current usage stats on Showdown and had a few questions regarding the more common mixed sets:

1. Why is Dark Pulse ran over Knock Off or Hyperspace Fury?
2. Why is Psyshock ran on a mixed setup as opposed to Psychic (I understand Psyshock on a purely special setup but not mixed)
3. Hasty or Naive, and why?

1. Probably because the physical moves are drain punch and gunk shot
2. I don't know
3. Because you don't want to lower either offenses or speed. And hasty seems best because it's defense already sucks

Thank you for your reply (even if you couldn't answer 2). I do want to clarify that I was not asking "why Naive and Hasty over other natures?", I was asking just between the two. My apologies for being unclear.

Hasty gets used over naive because:
1) it's defense already sucks
2) you probably don't want to lower it's amazing special bulk.

Special dark is just more effective atm, also leaves you less susceptible to burns
idk, id guess to hit chansey hardest
most people will say hasty bc your defense is already shit anyway but its really inconsequencial

Can anyone give me a basic but good rain team? Like, what you would call sample rain. I saw one in the sample team thread but it is months and months old, and I think the meta has changed a bit even for rain teams in that period of time, and I want to try laddering with rain

You can also run spdef klefki if you want to be less weak to megazam/special attackers in general.

Being weak to mega alakazam is an understatement on that team when it has the potential to clean up everything in the way m-ala teams function. Use spdef on klefki.

I currently have aa Gengar with Dazzling Gleam, Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, Venoshock.Which'd be better, dark pulse or shadow ball? And is Energy Ball a good fourth move or would Thunderbolt or something else be better?

Shadow ball is better because it gets STAB. Focus blast is also preffered for coverage

Shadow Ball because STAB. And toss Venoshock and replace it with Sludge Wave / Sludge Bomb. Thirdly, toss Energy Ball for Focus Blast. Dazzling Gleam is good but you can also consider Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Icy Wind, Pain Split and Destiny Bond. Gengar's movepool is so good that it can basically do whatever it wants.

I've had the gengar since x and it is a fairy dragon slayer. I might do Destiny Bond for another Gengar but the current one is able to hit 10 of the 18 types and I want to keep a max super effective hit range. Isnt Sludge Wave event Gengar only?

Yes it is event only but using Sludge Bomb only makes you miss the coverage on Chesnaught.

Isn't Sludge Wave an ORAS tutor move, I think?

Is there a scenario where having the lower Life Orb Recoil on Excadrill by going 29HP IV lets him survive any attack he normally wouldn't when going standard 31IV? Or is the recommendation just nitpicking?
