Hi, I know this must be written somewhere but I can't find where, but I'm trying to figure out how to do the fancy texts that can open/close when they are clicked on. Can someone direct me to the thread that explains that?

Just put your text in between those.

Trying to make an introduction to competitive pokemon team for my father, and we have a list of mons he would like to use. If someone could PM me able to assist in team building, that'd be great.

What kind of pokemon can partner well with mega scizor? I read that heatrans and rotom wash works well, but I can never fit them in my offense teams.

A 720-sided dice.

Or you could just go for a setup sweeper which doesn't increase any slight weaknesses you have, a Spikes or TSpikes setter, or something that can bait in and subsequently weaken checks to your main win condition.

What are some ways to decide the 6th member of your team if you basically have necessary roles filled?
It's not a bad idea to double up on sweepers / wincons just incase one performs badly against the opposing team
It really depends on what team you are building
IMO, the basic needs of HO (the best btw) is:
Lead (SR setter or weather starter. Example, TankChomp or Politoed)
Wallbreaker #1 (Example: Hoopa-Unbound)
Wallbreaker #2 (or weather abuser. Example: Serperior or Kabutops
Sweeper (Example: Weavile)
Utility (hazard removal, Example: Latios, Excadrill, Starmie)
Revenge Killer (scarfer or priority user. Example: Landorus-Therian or Talonflame)

Look for holes in defensive synergy or offensive coverage, to see if there are any mons that you're otherwise unable to answer, and add whatever fixes that hole without messing too badly with how your team operates. Outside of that, "glue" mons or pivots never hurt if you've got everything else covered.

Don't just look at which individual pokemon are threatening for your team, but also look at what cores or strategies can be annoying:
Having a way to deal with Mega Sableye and Chansey is nice, but can you also deal with those if they are paired up with 5 other defensive pokemon (read: do you have a stallbreaker?)
You might have a Charizard-Y and Keldeo check in Latios, but maybe you lose 6-0 against Pursuit + Keldeo / Zard Y.
The list goes on with stuff like birdspam, magnezone+fairy etc. Make sure you always have a secondary check for the most common threats. BreakMyTeam can help you with this.

Hot damn, I'd heard that thing was in the works, had no idea it was finished though. Handy out! Makes theorymon-ing teams way easier.
Purely to test it, I plugged in a Balance team I had just before Hoopa-U's release. Clef/MSciz/Rotom/Talonflame/Serp/Hippo. Top of the list, at one soft check: Hoopa-U. Gosh. People weren't kidding when they said it destroys slower/defensive teams.

I find I struggle with thinking about cores when building a lot of the time, if not most of the time. I'm very much at the defensive-thinking stage of "can I make sure this one Pokemon doesn't sweep my team". And that's pretty tricky by itself nowadays anyway, what with the huuuuge amount of threats! Plus the usual mainstays of having a win condition, and supporting that condition, and making room for hazard control... Team building is rly hard :(

Topically: Suggestions on last slot for MManectric/Tornadus-T/Chesnaught/Clef/Terrakion, with Terrakion as the primary win con? I thought about Bisharp too, but I kept getting dead ends when building. +1CharX/MSableye/MDiancie/Kyu-B destroyed most of the things I came up with. Maybe Double Dance Lando-T instead? MMan is running Toxic for lols to punish Ground type switch ins, so I wanted a sweeper that could benefit from a compromised Hippowdon/Garchomp. But no defog/rapid spin yet either :<

I would say offensive air balloon Heatran - provides flying, poison, steel, ice, psychic and fairy resistances which that team really needs without compounding your CharX weakness, also benefits from ground types being removed like you wanted. Beats Diancie and kyurem with flash cannon, Sableye with fire blast, CharX with earth power as long as it lacks EQ or air balloon is in tact.

Edit: here's the set:

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Stealth Rock / Stone Edge / Hidden Power Ice

You don't really need hazard removal on this team as it can apply offensive pressure to minimise your own switches and only torn-t has SR weaknesses which is mitigated by regenerator.

the reason heatran works well is because it covers the fire weakness, serves as a talonflame check, and it serves as a rocker given that hazards are essential for offensive mega scizor to do work (then again, for what team are hazards not essential). if you're looking into more offensive sets, try magma storm trap tran or scarf/specs if you have another rocker.

other offensive mons that work with scizor are stuff that deals with keldeo like lati@s and LO starmie, tankchomp is a check-to-all rocker and sees a lot of usage on more offensive teams, or try stuff that shares the same checks (like bisharp).

So I was building a team and the team looked really familar to me (I think I saw it in a RMT once) Does anyone know a team with like 4 or 5 of these:
Gliscor, MAltaria, Rotom-H, Ferrothorn, Jellicent and Mandibuzz.

Edit: Found it!
