Imo life orb Latios is the best fit, with HP fighting to lure dark types who can trouble the team. Provides defog, a ground immunity (watch out for mold breaker though), electric resist, which the team needs, plus a speedy wallbreaker with dual stabs. It does make your team a little dark-weak which is where HP fighting comes in, as most pursuit trappers (Weavile, Bisharp, tyranitar) are OHKO'd with the correct prediction.

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Defog

Hi, first time in smogon.

What are the good teammates for Mega Scizor for a hyper offensive team? Thanks :D
It depends, if Scizor is cleaning at the Late-Game, you will need a pair of Wallbreakers that deal with things that wall Scizor and ruin the sweep, IMO Choice Band Azumarril :3, she smacks Heatran, Unboosted Talonflame, Hippowdown, Mega Sableye, bulky Garchomp, Defensive Landorus-T, Keldeo, Charizard-X( it usually cant hurt Azu) and some more that I dont remember now, Scizor can switch into Poison and Grass attacks aimed at her, and she can switch into fire type attacks, but you will need something to deal with Charizard-Y and Rotom-W, because both hate them.

In addition to what was said above, Latias makes an excellent partner able to switch into Fire moves (and also Ground, Electric and Water moves, which are neutral on Scizor), while Scizor can switch into Ice and Fairy moves, while providing hazard control and the ability to give Scizor a second chance at sweeping through Healing Wish. Rotom-Wash can provide momentum with Volt Switch while also checking Fire-types, while a hazard setter such as Garchomp or Skarmory helps Scizor net a few extra KOs.

but Rotom-W fits in HO??

KidSafeShark , you can shut down Baton Pass with Taunt, Encore, Perish Song, Whirlwind, Haze, and even Unaware.

Rotom-W gives a slow Volt Switch and checks birds - both of which HO appreciates greatly. Its kinda like how Blissey HO was used in early ORAS to give the archetype a way of even remotely taking on Rock Polish Lando-I.

what

HO just ran azu and weavile (or a bunch of priority) to not get swept by lando and even then it had plenty of ways of playing around it because lando was so pressed to setup on HO anyway. Blissey HO has never existed as a legitimate playstyle

The dialog practically writes itself.

To think all of this started because I suggested Rotom-Wash as a teammate for Mega Scizor.

EDIT: Okay, an actual question. People will sometimes use a type-enhancing item/Plate/Expert Belt to "bluff a Choice item". Considering that Bands and Specs boost damage output by 50% compared to the 20% of those items, and that after a bit of experience it can become fairly easy to eyeball Band/Specs damage, does this bluff still work?

Well, in the scenarios that a Pokemon has a variable damage output, (something with a lot of sets, especially positive or neutral attack/special attack), or in the cases that because of the buff you got the knockout (so never reached maximum damage), or simply that people are bad at remembering a lot of damage/assume that it's not fully invested... I guess it works in all of those scenarios!

Personally I'm always more worried about missing something that has Scarf, only to have it unexpectedly outspeed something and take a KO.

e: lmao @ karxrida's new avatar

People do it to bluff Scarf on things like Keldeo or Hydregion that are known to run the item. You can't bluff Band or Specs nearly as consistently because of damage calcs.

Kind of ninja'd.

Sorry bro, i was the one who started this lol, i would never expect to see Rotom-W in HO tbh.

about your question, yeah the buff works, but theres a big difference between 20 and 50, is not too hard to see if something is choiced(remember they get locked also)

Lmao Karxrida avatar xD.

is something like BisharpxBlissey going to start just because of that quote? xD

I'm gonna build with that core now...

Anyway, so that this post isn't wasted, the only time when plates are used to bluff band or specs is in the case of Scizor, which primarily utilises priority anyway and only has band as its standard non-self-revealing item; something I've used to decent success is Iron Plate Scizor and only clicked Bullet Punch to pick off things until they start trying to take advantage of it in order to shift momentum over to my side at - ahem - a pivotal point in the match. That's where plates stop seeing use to bluff power-boosting choice items really, as the difference is just so noticable that it isn't successful v.s. 80% of players.

Hi, I'm building a Hyper Offense team for the first time. Do you guys think Serperior and Mega Gardevoir is a good core? Or is there any poke that would be a good partner for these 2?

I dont think so, both struggle against similar things like Talonflame and Powerful Hitters because both are frail.

Gardevoir dont remove nothing that Seperior appreciate either.

You should find something that appreciate the removal of the Latis, M-Sableye and that stuff.

I think that Keldeo pairs better, however, both hate Talonflame.

Is there any one that could go well with these 2 in terms of checking their checks/counters?

Rotom-W is a tank, not a wall; it can hit back. It has decent (but not fantastic) power, decent bulk, a nice set of resists and immunities, and provides a slow Volt Switch to get frail shit in safely.

OK, this has been bugging me for a while. Why are there suddenly so many spam posts in OU? Before, there was only like one a month, but now there's like one every other day. Is there some new trend of people thinking that it's okay to just randomly post?
