The Pokemon Gold and Silver Remake Theory

Another reason why there might be a remake:
Pokesav has the Johto data listed.
(I apparently snagged a Mew which came from Johto from the GTS lol)

well , the evidence is good, i like all your research, i salute you for the effort...

if nintendo is planning this remakes, and part of the evidence points that nintendo is hinting us to think that this remakes r a possibles, well im welcome the idea...

also if nintendo is loyal to the way they release pokemon games, we now enjoy diamond and pearl, the same way we did with ruby and saphire, so prolly we gonna get, maybe 3/4 2007 or 1/4 2008 the surprise return to johto, as the same fashion we recive fr/lg remakes...and then prolly we will have pokemon opal as the same way we got emerald...

so you know noone can take away from us the right to dream about it...

keep fingers cross

Regarding Gold/Silver Remake theory.

Question: Does Nintendo still want to milk the pokemon franchise?

Answer: Yes.

Is it easier to recycle pokemon and places you already have coding for than to creat 100 new pieces of code from scratch?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Do Nintendo fanboys like Nostalgia?

Answer: Yes.

I think its pretty clear.

Quoted for truth. Not only that, but having a chance of catching decent GSC Legends without using GameCube games would be a blessing. And the idea of the Time Capsule allowing you to tradeback with the Advance games is incredible. CharmBliss with Seismic Toss...?

I'm going to repeat everyone else:
Yes. Please. Gamefreak, if you can hear us, make SURE you do this. PLEASE. PLEEEEAAAASE.

Silver has always been my favorite game in the franchise, and I think a remake of it would ROCK.

As for the problems with TMs and HMs you mentioned, let's just pray for a bunch of new move tutors that'll spread the love and let us get new movesets for our D/P favorites :D

yeah I have heard of this before some people have tricked thousands with a bad photoshop including totalpokemon

chance to get better(through SR) legends like Lugia, Ho-Oh, Raikou, Suicune, Entei would be a blessing and I like the 16 badges system since 8 was always too few imo.

quoting similarities between two things is NOT empirical evidence for anything ever. It is often coincidence. Saying two cities are similar or the addition of two eevee evolutions in two different gens is quite simply faulty evidence.

The hard references in the game, such as Jasmine mentioning her hometown or Johto being a programmed location is the evidence we have.

Agreed. Two games are similar. So?

Sorry man, didn't mean to be so cold; I tried to end on a positive note just to avoid that. I respect that you did this, I really do. I'd love to see you guys compile a version of just hard evidence for us as well. Just was trying to point out the flaws I mentioned (of which the town comparison and the eevee thing were just examples to alert you that your thinking was infact flawed).

Hope you make the video featuring the hard evidence.

Yeah we understand that some facts were a coincidence. But they are still there, aren't they? Perhaps Gamefreak tries to give us hints...?

But you guys are forgetting an important point in the video: You can capture all Pokemon in D/P, except for the previous generation legendaries. We all want a remake, but what will be so special about it if you can capture all the Pokemon in D/P? It's a pretty big issue

=\ I don't see how Nintendo putting references in D/P means a G/S/C remake. Really, you're taking some nostalgia Nintendo put in this game and thinking it means something bigger.

And even if they did remake G/S/C, which they probably wont, hopefully it'll just be a single game remake, instead of another FR/LG.

Gold, Silver and Crystal are arguably the best games in the series, due to the sheer amount of land to explore and the length of the storyline (if you can call it that).

Competitive battling has made a massive move since then, and a remake incorporating the current metagame would quite literally be heaven on earth.

I agree with everything.

The only thing that I think that could prevent us from having a G/S/C remake is that Nintendo wants to save it for the "5th generation" when they make new Pokemon, etc. and it would be a way for them to have another "FR/LG" before the upcoming 5th generation release. However, if that happened, the "5th generation game" would have to hold Pokemon from R/S/E and D/P as well as the 5th generation's, while the remade G/S/C would hold the R/B/Y (FR/LG) pokemon.

And why do you think they won't make a remake? You didn't explain yourself.

OMG! I just realized that the woman who lost her hotel key gives you a Lava Cookie, which is from Lavaridge Town! This means that they MUST have a R/S/E remake in the works! It just has to be true!

You know, a thought occurred to me earlier. If Nintendo was planning a GSC remake on the DS, they'd probably have put 3D trainer sprites for those games on Pokemon Battle Revolution, wouldn't they? So maybe someone could check into that?

...or it could just be the only way that you obtain that item in the game.

Now if you got the berserker gene from that lady....

I think a remake is rather obvious. They coded Johnto as a region for Pal Park. They didn't do that just cause it's fun.

We are most warranted in this suspicion as Red and Blue were remade for the Advance Generation.

It comes as no surprise that GameFreak would be contemplating remakes for all past games for Nintendo DS, for not only the monetary benefits of remakes, but also the re-introduction of the series of kids who are now first experiencing Pokemon.

Referencing things that occurred in past games is something that Nintendo definitely does just to get people thinking about remakes and to raise excitement. I'm not saying that they aren't going to create a remake but just because they throw in a few references and character appearances doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to happen.

My main thing that I want to contribute is this interesting 3rd form of Shellos/Gastrodon that can be found (the ??? one). This guarantees that there will be another game for the DS that is outside of Sinnoh.

That was because there was no other way to get all 150 original Pokemon since R/S/E was not compatible with R/B/Y or G/S/C. Now they're all accessible.

This is true. Do you believe if there where a Jhoto remake it would necessitate new species due to the fact that all previous Jhoto species are now obtainable in Fr/Lg/Emerald and Diamond/Pearl Swarms? It seems by your logic, it would, or at least call for some extra-ordinary reason to buy it, such as a no-frills way to get Ho-oh/Lugia without requiring a ticket.

just so you guys know, there is already a rather robust thread about this that could use a revival in the GSC section. Some good thoughts are in there.

now this has me thinking yet again what if nintendo just wanted to piss off all the older players?

Pissing people off doesn't earn Nintendo money. Therefore they have no intention of actively doing so.

Remember people, Nintendo is a business. It wants you to spend your money to buy their games and hardware.
