The Pokemon Gold and Silver Remake Theory

I'm npt sure if it's already been said, but a GS remake could still add much to Wifi battling. Something like the move tutors but with moves obtainable only from Pal Park (i.e. Elemental Punches, Body Slam, Seismic Toss, etc). A remake of the battle tower like they did in Emerald could also be expected (although while writing this I realised ALL of these things could be put into a 3rd installment)

So, what about a 3rd installment with Johto being accessible after the E4?
 
There is no RAGECANDYBAR or SLOWPOKETAIL in the data for D/P (I don't even remember if the SLOWPOKETAIL was obtainable or not, though...). Would the game just be like "LOL NO" if you tried to trade a Pokemon with those items attached?

They actually did for some, most notably Houndour, Hoothoot and Ledyba.

I think if you search a bit, you'll find them. They didn't do it for all of them, but I remember a friend of mine has a FRLG strategy guide with some of the GSC redraws.

Maybe they'd switch the candy bar into a Key Item? There sure are a lot of items like that that just wind up rotting in your bag anyways. That or they could just make it the same price as a bicycle so you can't buy it.
 
Honestly, I would love to see a GSC remake. It'd let us go to Kanto as well, but there's still the problem of changing the game so you didn't have to deal with Level 70-ish Kanto people...

Actually, Slowpoke tails were never obtainable. The only guy that offered you one wanted like 1 million, the same price as the bicycle.

Rage Candybars on the other hand would have to be taken out. Lava Cookie+Lemonade store anyone??

Or, you could have a key item thats like a 'ragecandy' box and feed it to them in a pokeblock style, meaning you cant trade them but they arent removed for old times sake.
 
Ah, yes. Imagine the possibilities. Curse +Extremespeed Arcanine returns, and maybe the Extremespeed Dratini will make a reappearance.

i noticed after about a minute cuz i was reading the first page and was gonna read all the way through until i saw the date they were posted at.. then i skipped to the end.

but on topic, gsc remake would be awesome. it was my favorite, i got crystal when i was like, 12 or somwthing. i remember i caught raikou and thought that he sucked so i never used him. boy was i wrong.

Not to be an asshole, but when you write outlines, you always have a second anchor. If there's a I, there has to be a II. If there's an A, there has to be a B. So on and so forth. Just letting you know, for future reference.
 
I doubt I am the first to notice, but the new name of the next game is PLATINUM. GOLD, SILVER, PLATINUM. All precious metals. I see a pattern here. Perhaps it is avaliable until after the E4 is beaten.

Perhaps. So much more profit in making it a separate game though. Besides, it seems like one of the first things they'd use in a preview/introduction of Platinum, due to the fact Johto would be a huge huge factor. At the very least, more then "Volkner isn't 8 Gym Leader anymore". Christ, who would get excited about a new game from that?
 
Yeah, I don't think nintendo will want to lose half their profit by only making 1 game.Another problem would be that it might be difficult to fit the large amount of data required on to one DS card.
 
How do people dig these things up? Whatever.

The only real "hard evidence" I think there is is the reference to the red Gyarados in the beginning of DP. This could either be just to show you when the game is taking place, in relation to the other games, or it could be a blatant "this is what's coming out next". Or Nintendo could just be screwing with us. :\

Is a second wave of games possible within the DS' lifespan? I don't know, but it could be done...
