Same here, I do that in other games too, not just Pokemon. The more sidequests there is, the more fun it can be. As long as they are rewarding.I tend to take things slowly too; though that's how I play most games anyway - explore every nook and cranny, talk to every NPC... I especially love games that reward you for this, like Majora and of course Pokémon.
Though on my subsequent times around I do tend to just barrel my way through it. The thrill of exploration is gone because I know what's there, and now just going through quickly allows me a sort of... newfound joy. A different sort of experience.
While I do agree that it makes the games easier, I don't really mind. Maybe that's an unpopular opinion of its own: I don't mind the Pokemon games being easy as long as they are fun to play.I too love to go through the games slowly, exploring the nooks and crannies as I go, but the problem I used to have with that was how it made the games too easy. "Oh, I found this TM! Now I put it on my Pokémon, and it OHKO's everything". Every option you explore appear to set the difficulty another notch lower.
That's until I discovered the joys of training two teams, though, alternating between them for every Gym I beat. Suddenly you sort of have to explore everything to get anywhere, since your Pokémon are constantly underlevelled. Recommended for everybody!
To each their own then. I spent as much time playing through X/Y as any other modern Pokemon game but I can kind of understand why you couldn't help but rush it.I usually try not to rush games but with pokemon X, it couldn't be helped as it was just too easy for me....
I've gotta agree with this tbh. I don't really care about Pokémon being difficult; to me that's not really the goal - it's just to have fun in some way. Especially when you can put self-imposed rules on yourself like Nuzlockes and the two-teams thing to adjust difficulty. While I do agree that it makes the games easier, I don't really mind. I don't know how unpopular this is, but it is something I have seen complained about over the years.
There is nothing wrong with having a lot of legendary pokemon through the generations. All of the legendary Pokemon are cool and add a lot to the games. Giving them story significance enriches the game greatly - who would argue that Yellow has a better story than Platinum?
I want a XD like console experiece but with Triples being more focused rather than singles and doubles. You might be wondering why I care about something that could slow down the frame rate and not with more appealing formats in singles and doubles.
The reason: I want something different. My main format is still singles but I have really enjoyed Colosseum and XD and how they introduced me into doubles (better than Saphire and Ruby could ever do).
Of course, nobody could confirm that if such a game were to come out that it would meet or extend my expectation. At least that would be more of a reason to get a home console version of games instead of handhelds. Surely, the creators could just put some random event-exclusive, hidden abilities or pokemon with special moves into the game (Sturdy Regirock anyone?).
Doubles, triples, the rules all confuse me...and why are ubers allowed like Deoxys that's just not fair...I like triples because it's the only Battle Maison line to allow your entire party. Plus it's also the most stable one, having 6 pokemon means you are less likely for bad luck to completely end your run. My only complaint is that the matches are also the longest.
Agreed but tbh, you can't cast aside the fact that Yellow was a fun game due to the idea that it was based off of the anime. It's the bonding with pikachu!I don't know how unpopular this is, but it is something I have seen complained about over the years.

What's good in singles is not always good in doubles and vice-versa. For instance, Amoonguss, while not a bad Pokémon just has a few too many flaws and competition from better Pokémon that keeps it from being OU (it is currently in RU). In doubles, it is a very good Pokémon due to it possessing the move Rage Powder, which can redirect attacks to it, keeping its partner safe.Doubles, triples, the rules all confuse me...and why are ubers allowed like Deoxys that's just not fair...
I can probably think of a few OU Mons that Amoonguss has the edge over in terms of viability, it just doesn't get used a lot for whatever reason. It's not even that flawed.
While I don't mind Berry farming (the large amount of EV berries along side Leppa Berries I have is amazing), I am not a big fan of how I had to do it in games before X and Y's Berry Fields, which is just more convenient or the improved version of the Berry Master's garden in ORAS.I'm not actually sure if anyone dislikes this; I just never see it come up - so I guess this is a technically-unpopular-because-nobody-bloody-cares opinion, but playing through Platinum again I kind of enjoy berry farming.
I don't know; it just gives this fun bit of tiny progress whenever I switch on the game just for a few minutes of going round the region watering, plucking and planting. Gives me something to do that due to poffins and the accessory trade thing will eventually be productive. Not much to say I just like it.
I only truely liked berry picking in pokemon Emerald.I'm not actually sure if anyone dislikes this; I just never see it come up - so I guess this is a technically-unpopular-because-nobody-bloody-cares opinion, but playing through Platinum again I kind of enjoy berry farming.

I find it fun though.I hate berry farming.
I've probably brought all the berries in AS to extinction because I never replant.
It always makes me happy to see someone say this.Eon Flute is one of the best key items in the game, next to the bike. Eliminates fly completely, has an in game use other than traveling and the music while flying is absolutely amazing and relaxing.
Speaking of, I really like the unqiue berry tree sprites back in RSE, it's just not the same when you look at say, the XY berry trees for example. Makes each berry feel special and places like the Berry Master's garden more breathtaking.I only truely liked berry picking in pokemon Emerald.

But if you have to keep switching between party member and HM slave (which requires a specific area), is it really faster? Do you really want to walk across Route 101 just to grab a HM slave after beating the Elite Four OR be forced to carry a HM slave into that battle?Convenient yes, but I wouldn't say it eliminates Fly completely. Fly is still a whole lot faster than traveling via the Eon Flute, which still makes it preferable in most situations if you can make room in your party for it, and aren't going to any legendary-specific areas.
