I play it Bold, to survive an EQ from a Dugtrio who trapped me :)Theorymon said:I do have that but its Bold, so you won't be outspeeding Nidoking with it, just a warning!
I wanted to mention that I did face an American Zapdos with Static ability.
I'm only aware of Japan having the HA Bird Trio.
It's possible to have an English Named Zapdos with Static if you have a Japanese/PAL system set to English language and you redeem the code on your system. The more likely possibility though is that your opponent is a cheater who genned the Zapdos considering the event has only been out for a few days and I doubt anyone has had the time to soft reset a Zapdos with favorable nature and stats.
So I had one opponent come at me with 5 level 30 mons, two of which were a Rhyhorn and a Wartortle, and his only level 50 was a Dragonite.
Like.....why? .____.
I'll never have a 6-0 sweep with a rocks Clefable ever again...
Did he have an Arcanine and an Exeggutor? I feel bad because I imagine that this was obviously a mistake on his end due to his Arcanine having a standard Willo set. Poor guy :/ This is why you triple check your teams before you go in to an online competition that locks your battle box.I had a battle like this too. Same person? xD
I don't want to look like a begger but, anyone with leftover egg hatched pokemon that I could use? doesnt matter if they're not 4-5IV as long as they're right natured and some egg moves, I can EV and EXP train them all the way :P it's just that I bought my 3DS just 2 weeks ago and didnt have a chance to really breed and stuff, just finished my story hehe

It is restricted to level 50, yes, but only when you have a Pokemon ABOVE level 50 does it reset it back down. If you use anything lower than level 50, you're going in with that level.I thought the competition sets pokemon to level 50?
Anyways, I went 8-0 so far...I don't feel like playing my last two matches today, and not sure I'll continue. My goal was to get over 1600, and I did. That's where things start to get real, and I really don't want to go up against OHKO players and the people who are super-competitive.
I already came across someone who tried to get a freeze hax on me when they were losing (using ice beam on one of my mons repeatedly even though it dealt little to no damage and wasn't a STAB move...oh, and they had other moves they could have used; I switched into a mon with Scald in case they got the freeze to prevent that). I know there are scald burns (heck, I go for them sometimes, myself, if I'm not packing WoW) and poisons...but to purposely go for a freeze hax is kinda cheap, IMO.
Though, I am having fun, I'll admit (then again, I haven't been up against any OHKO players yet). I wish they'd have more competitions in 6v6 format...only with a no OHKO rule. I'd play more of this competition if I didn't know for a fact that I'll be up against OHKOers (and perhaps timer stallers) as I go higher.
Welp, my first match wasn't too much fun...I pretty much cleaned out their team with my stealth rocks Clefable (nup, wasn't the level 30 team XD ) and Raichu (who has actually been a huge help; Jolteon could do all the things Raichu does, but I like Raichu better than Jolteon and I just wanted to use my favorite Gen I mons). After that, I got a share of relaxing matches and challenging ones (more of the latter, as only two people didn't really know what they were doing).
Also came across a team with Butterfree on it...I thought it was pretty cool (even though they weren't able to do much to me with it because I put Venusaur on my team).
Just ask someone to help. The damn thing to me is that I didn't find the TM 90 (substitute) yet... T__T
This TM appears by lucky daily on mirage islands... Why game freak? WHY?
I have only battled 4 Japanese players, which is rare for me.It's nice to hear so many people are doing well. Maybe the top 20 won't be almost all japanese again!

I was starting to wonder if Japan was the land that never sleeps.
Well I mean they have the largest playerbase by far so there's bound to be a few nightowls at any given time.
Ok my report from Day 1.
Im surprised how some japaneses players use common pokemons with different movesets from what we have seen in showdown. There was one japanese using Focus Punch Gengar, maybe to hit snorlax in a switch (he had like 1580 points). Here are the top usage percentage from my first 10 battles.
