Much better slate this time, good job. My thoughts:

Roost Rotom-S

Reliable recovery's always a good thing, it can help it better run defensive sets and offensive sets better since in the latter case it can also heal off Life Orb recoil. Roost can also help it beat Fighting types that run Rock coverage.

Earth Power Exeggutor

Another good upgrade, gets excellent coverage with its STABs it would make the Specs set virtually impossile to switch into. Skuntank can no longer counter it, and it can now power through Steelix without Leaf Storm's drops.

Adaptability Glaceon

An improvement for sure, but unforunately I still don't think it will be enough to make it stand out in the tier. It still can't touch most bulky Water types, it's still slow, it still has pretty much no movepool and Ice typing is still horrible defensively.

Fighting + Close Combat Electivire

Hell yeah, Electric/Fighting is awesome offensive typing with only Rotom, Golurk and Vileplume resisting both of its STABs. It has some nice resistances to in Steel, Rock and Dark with an Electric immunity thanks to Motor Drive. It would also give it a high powered STAB to better use that impressive Attack stat. Very good.

Drain Punch + Close Combat Poliwrath

Drain Punch provides Poliwrath with reliable recovery (kinda), which is the main thing it sorely lacked. It can run Bulk Up sets better now as Drain Punch lets it do damage while still healing. I don't think Close Combat will see that much use, as neither of its 2 sets (defensive and Bulk Up) appreciate the stat drops. Still an improvement though.

My nomination:

Shell Smash Torterra. Hear me out before you scream "broken". It makes sense flavour wise (I mean look at the thing!) and Shell Smash would transform it into one of the best physical sweepers in the meta. However, it would still be stopped cold by Weezing, and bulky Grass types not named Vileplume can still wall it. It also has to rely on Stone Edge to hit Bug and Flying types, and we all know how fickle that move is.

ok so this slate is so much better, thanks shadestep!

Roost Fantom seems like a decent defensive mon now, able to check scyther, shiftry and other pokemon a lot better.

EP Eggy seems like a bit of a stretch but nonetheless is good to remove skuntank, but you need colbur or a prediction so its still kinda meh

Adaptability Glaceon is now the hardest hitting ice type in NU(and the game?) but still lacks move like Earth power or freeze dry to beat aurorus in viability

Evire+fighting and CC now makes it a half-decent physical electric type, able to beat steelix if it predicts correctly, but low kick does that better so CC itself is meh, the fighting stab looks better tho

Poli+Phys stabs allows it to run physical sets, which is cool.

As for my own nom: CC Busken, it needs a consistent physical stab, and now has SD sets as a viable option

Roost
Rotom Fan

The animated sprites wont work

I like the idea of Roost Rotom Fan. I think Shadestep would be pleased to know I'm a fan of it. It would instantly make the defensive set more viable by giving it reliable recovery and another added bonus some people might miss is, even when it uses roost it can't be hit by ground attacks because of levitate. Don't know if that was intentional but if it was, nice. The offensive scarf or specs set wouldn't make much use of it, however it can be a solid option on expert belt and life orb sets. Overall it's a nice touch on the bulky sets which allows it to safely switch in, and have rocks not effect the risk factor of switching it in. I'd say it would move up in viability. B+ --> A-

103.gif
Earth Power
Exeggutor
103.gif

Again, I like the idea of this. The main thing stopping Exeggutor is getting pursuit trapped by Skuntank. Now it has a reliable way to hit it, without giving up hp fire. It also seperates its self from hp ground by being able to reliably ohko skuntank on the specs set. It also hits fire types like pyroar and magmortar doing much more damage than psychic/psyshock. The one problem I have with this, is it doesn't change Eggys speed, so half of the time, if you wanna stop skunk trapping you, your gonna have to predict it. And it still doesn't stop it revenging you. So I believe Colbur Berry Eggy would be a great set to benefit from earthpower. In terms of viability I would say C+ --> B-/B.

471.gif
Adaptability Glaceon
471.gif

So I have mixed feelings about this, on the one hand, it becomes the strongest special ice type user in the game, being stronger than the likes of Arceus-Ice, Aurorus, Kyurem, Mega Abomasnow and Jynx. On the other hand it still has a lack luster movepool as it lacks sufficient coverage to hit things that might want to take an ice beam. It can barely scratch AV Lanturn or AV Yama unlike Aurorus who can use Freeze Dry and Psychic repsectivly. So while adaptability is nice, it doesn't add or make stronger the remains of Glaceons coveragr which hinders it to a point where aurorus is the better option most of the time. It does have a cool niche in baton pass tho! In viability, it would still rise. Unranked --> C in my opinion.

466.gif
Fighting, Close Combat
E-vire
466.gif

Ok, this may be bias since I love E-vire so much, but I would adore this change. Electivire already has a solid attack stat of 123, so giving it a strong stab would greatly increase its viability. It could make use of a moveset like Wild Charge, Close Combat, Earthquake and Volt switch which would hit almost everything for neutral damage barring Rotom. It could also easily fit Close Combat on a mixed set. Also some people might forget that it doesn't even need to be restricted to a physical/mixed set because of close combat. Electivire also gets focus blast which can easily ohko aggron and steelix with same type attack bonus. In terms of defensivly, fighting and electric don't work incredibly well together, but it would allow you to make the odd risky play where you switch in on a dark, fighting or bug type on which you wouldn't be able to do before.
062.gif
DrainPunch, CloseCombat Poli
062.gif

So this is an interesting one in the sense that it would allow Poli to run a lot more sets than before. For example it could run Bulk up, Banded, Mixed, Focus Punch w/ reliable back up stab. Bulk Up is the main option, that would benefit from drain punch, in my opinion bulk up poliwrath has always been overshadowed by gurdurr and now that gurdurr has left, even throh outclasses it as a phazer. Drain punch would mean it doesn't have to run rest and sleep talk which allows it to run other coverage as in waterstab and ice punch. No physical priority still sucks tho. Close Combat would hit hard on banded and thats it.

668.gif
Flare Blitz Pyroar, it would make Physical Moxie a pretty cool set and much more viable.

phdef roost rotom-s would be a good bird/fighting/scyther check, and it would definitely be one of the best defensive pivots in the tier. pretty much just lanturn outright "beats" it because gastro will eventually die to flinch + burn and most other stuff that could beat it doesn't want to get burned. like adaire mentioned, levitate means ground moves won't hit it even when roosting, so it would still beat a lot of grounds.

fighting/cc evire would be really good too. it'd probably be the best fighting-type in the tier. a strong wild charge helps it beat on psychics and the electric typing keeps pelipper and xatu from checking it like they did sawk. it might honestly be a little busted. musharna would be the main defensive answer, but that's pretty much all there is for it.

+ Roost

Sounds like a nice upgrade! The defensive set gets reliable recovery and will be able to check Fighting types that have Rock type coverage better since it can play around with the Roost mechanic. I would give it Defog too kinda acting like Zapdos. Maybe Roost isn’t that realistic because it involves feathers/wings(?), as the Japanese translation is Feather Rest, then again in, for example, Dunsparces case idk if you can call those wings but ok. My thought would be a rise to A-

exeggutor.png
+ Earth Power

Earth Power on Eggy is the one i’m least excited about. I guess it’s nice for Skunk and Fire types. I don’t think it would rise in viability though.

glaceon.png
+ Adaptability

Not too keen on this one either. Glaceon doesn’t have a secondary type to benefit from it’s new ability and it still remains frail and slow. It would hit harder but idk if it would actually mean a difference. Again no rise in viability on this one.

electivire.png
+ Fighting type+ Close Combat

Electivire with an added fighting type + CC sounds hella strong. Finally it can use that big Attack stat to its full potential! Choice Scarf/Banded is the item i would run on it. I’m afraid it will still struggle with fat Psychic types and Mega Audino though. I’d say a rise to atleast B+

poliwrath.png
+ Drain Punch + Close Combat

I already thought about/suggested this set and it would be a big upgrade for Poliwrath. Drain Punch allows Poli to have okay’ish recovery so you don’t have to run ResTalk sets. You could run it full physically offensive with Choice Band or mixed with Life Orb and Hydro Pump or Bulk Up kinda like Gurdurr. From B to B+/A-

My own nomination:

New slates! I thought these were pretty cool so let's go..:

+ Knock Off
221.gif
+ Slack Off
623.gif
+ Shadow Tag

+ Shell Smash

Discuss your thoughts on the slates and their potential impact on the metagame, Viability Rank, cool sets, etc.

primeape.png
Primeape + Knock Off

Pretty nice upgrade because let’s be honest every Fighting type wants to learn Knock Off. Would Primeape maybe be a faster but weaker Sawk? Banded Knock Off from Primeape would definitely hurt and force Psychics and Darks to run Colbur even more than they already do. You would probably run it over Earthquake which means you can’t really touch Garbodor anymore and also forcing you to take Aftermath damage from Skuntank. From B+ to atleast A-

piloswine.png
Piloswine + Slack Off

Having reliable recovery is always a plus and would give Pilo an advantage over other rockers bar Miltank (Milk Drink) and Cradily (Recover). With Slack Off it would make Pilo more difficult to wear down and I can see it using a more defensive set with Slack Off, Earthquake, Toxic and Roar (Hippowdon is that you?) I’d say from B+ to A

golurk.png
Golurk + Shadow Tag

lol this makes no sense and is broken af

ferroseed.png
Ferroseed + Rapid Spin

This wouldn’t affect just Ferroseeds utility but also current spinners like Kabutops and Hitmonchan, who can now run moves like Earthquake, Stone Edge, CC ( Hitmonchan) Superpower, X-Scissor (Kabutops). I can see Rapid Spin Ferroseed being one of NUs best spinners. B+ --> A-

torterra.png
Torterra + Shell Smash

Now this sounds really exciting and tbh maybe a bit too much. I can see why it could learn it since it is a giant turtle but would definitely make it a threat after the boosts. This would also allow Torterra to run Earth Power, Giga Drain, Energy Ball and HP Fire since it struggles with bulky Grass types if it would run Seed Bomb/Wood Hammer and Earthquake. From B- to A-

My own nom:
+ Spore & Toxic Spikes

Shell Smash Torterra:
Sounds very much wicked. Can run mixed sets pretty well now, even full special is viable now.

Rapid Spin Ferroseed:
A lot of utility. The closest thing I could compare to is Wartortle from Gen V NU. Except Ferroseed has Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, making it so it doesn't just sit there and die.

Shadow Tag Golurk:
If you want to make Golurk more viable, I wouldn't suggest this. This just breaks it. This thing is basically Dugtrio except with an actually usable Attack stat, meaning that it doesn't have to rely on Band to get strong hits, thus making it not as predictable. You lose to Mismagius and Rotom, but Golurk always lost to those anyway.

Slack Off Piloswine:
Good choice. Makes an already useful Pokemon even more useful. Rocks/Ice Shard/Earthquake/Slack Off would be the set I'd use.

Knock Off Primeape:
Very nice utility and a needed coverage move. Loses to Garb now though.

My Suggestion:

Ground/Dark Sandslash with Mold Breaker
