WWE Discussion Thread

As a wrestling fan, I was shocked that there was no thread about WWE. So I decided to create this. This is a WWE Discussion Thread, the name is self-explainatory.
I will now publish PPV results.
Rules:
  • No TNA, ROH, etc...
  • NO JOHN CENA FLAME WARS!!! Good God, I have seen enough of these at GFaqs. You have your own opinion about a wrestler, just say it but don't flame the fans.
  • Don't talk about it being fake. If you've seen some good PPV matches, you will see it might not be (Armageddon 2006 Ladder match anyone?)
  • You CAN talk about SvR 2008
  • DO NOT POST SPOILERS Wait until the show is over to post about it
  • You can talk about released or deceased wrestlers (King Booker, Golberg, Sabu, Eddie Guerrero, etc...)
  • You can talk about the training facilities like OVW and Deep South Wrestling
Well those are the rules and have fun.

Ehh I quit watching wrestling 3 years ago...but I randomly watch it sometimes but it looks soooo fake and boring now and now that I think about it, it was fake and boring back then also..I think I just liked the violence or something. Sure they're pretty good actors and it's entertainment but I hate it how someone punches the other guy 5 fucking inches away and the guy who gets "punched" gets knocked back...-.- and I also think it is very predictable. You kind of always know who will win because of the popularity level or when you know there's going to be a twist and popular werestlers become unpopular and vice versa to keep things fresh...And I still don't understand why the hell it needs female wrestlers who dont do anything but strip in front of little kids who come to watch the show..

Raw
Triple H needs to go back to heel; much better that way
Kennedy should be built up and should go over Hardy
Orton is doing alright as champ atm

Smackdown
Waiting for Edge to come back
Mysterio should be working with Cruiserweights
US Title should be defended soon
Jesse & Festus looked good in their debut
Masters, Palumbo are getting a decent push and should continue

ECW
Punk should keep the title at least until next PPV not counting Cyber Sunday
Should really get an undercard title [Television perhaps?] over there and roster needs moar
Burke should get pushed

Just thoughts off the top of my head

No ECW in the 90's was awesome.

No, I'd disagree there. I haven't been a wrestling fan for a while, but when I was I tended to be more interested in skilled technical wrestlers (You're Canadian, I'm sure you know the people I'm talking about). A load of trash can lids and broken tables bored me to tears.

Lee, if you like a good technical wrestling match, I would recommend the Benoit vs Angle 2003 Royal Rumble match. That's one of my favorites.

My fave would be the Bret Hart vs Benoit WCW Owen Hart tribute match. Total Classic. But Angle was always great too!

Raw
Triple H needs to go back to heel; much better that way

no, no, no, jesus christ no.

Kennedy should be built up and should go over Hardy

I don't like Hardy being championship contending; but I despise Kennedy.

Orton is doing alright as champ atm

Orton overdid his heel role; he wasn't just a dick, he was outright sadistic.

Smackdown

Mysterio should be working with Cruiserweights

There'd be nobody who could rationally beat him in Cruiserweight.

Masters, Palumbo are getting a decent push and should continue

Masters should have been up there a long time ago, but Palumbo should be contending for a WC *now*
Just thoughts off the top of my head

Also,

I'm tired of Batista - *really* tired of him.
I actually liked John Cena, at least better than Edge.
Kane needs to go after Snitsky, who fucking wishes he could be Kane. Kane needs a title too.
I hate Khali and Umaga and want them to just disappear.

Im out of the loop, havent watched it in weeks. Not too sure what could possibly get me to watch back.

If all the internet wrestling smarks died though, that would be a good start.

I went there last monday in Birmingham :D , was better than I thought, but my god, how do you get hurt by a punch that "lands" 2 inches away from your body? Mind you, most of the wrestling seemed real enough, only one match seemed fake.

one look on youtube with all the frame-by-frame in-depth analysis of those clips and it strongly suggests that to say the least >_>
Yeah, I saw that video a while ago. At first I was hearing talk about Y2J coming back, wondering where it started, but only later did I see why.

Btw, anyone know when/if RVD's coming back? Also didn't see him in the SmackDown! vs RAW 2008 wrestler list, which I though was odd, unless he's out of WWE.

trying-to-be-funny triple h < heel triple h :x

and umaga started going downhill after cena went over him, then lashley, and now the whole vicious samoan gimmick is getting stale

also, i agree, batista is just :/

and jericho coming back would be the ultimate g_g if they dont go back to the old "never win at a ppv" philosophy [if he comes back, it'll prolly be a few months of him winning, then we'll see]

oh, and santino had me cracking up with his stone cold reference. "open the ass whip" oh man ahaha

Smackdown
Batista is lame, all they ever seem to do with him is have him hunting for "his" title for months on end, then have him win it finally only to lose it a month later without ever fighting on TV just having him in suits instead ARGH. Rinse and Repeat.

Khali is Giant Gonzales of the modern day essentially, he's lasted a lot longer than I thought though.

Rey Mysterio is boring as well... the whole OMG HES LITTLE AND HE CAN BEAT BIG PEOPLE thing got old in WCW (it was already old when he got the belt 2 years ago) when he was feuding with Nash and lost his mask.

Palumbo and Masters are both excellent, I've been a fan of Masters since his debut but he finally seems to *maybe* getting close to some sort of title run. Chuck I've liked since the WCW days, solid wrestler.

Is there anyone else even worthy of mention on Smackdown? Of course Kane. How the fuck has this guy been world champ ONCE. He's the best of the big dudes along with Undertaker and his matches are always great to watch. Same goes for Undertaker, though I miss the purple elbow pads!

Raw
Lashley needs to come back plain and simple. He's probably my favorite right now along side Kane, they're both just purely entertaining to watch.

Shawn Michaels please retire.

Triple H is my all time favorite I don't even know what to say. Hes a great face and an even better heel. He does it all, he's solid and entertaining as all hell. He's the type of guys the fans love even when they're not suppose to.

Hardy is fun, I like Matt Hardy better.

Kennedy..... Kennedy. One of the best going right now if you ask me. I love how his midwestern accent pops in all the time when hes trying to be Mr Hotshot.

Orton.... meh. He seems bland as if theres nothing to do with him except kill legends which lets face it, is old now.

ECW
lol. I was pretty sure the whole smackdown ecw cross brand thing was a way to slowly end this awful excuse for entertainment but apparently it gets good ratings. CM Punk and Elijah Burke are good, along with Tommy Dreamer. Thats it.

The thing that makes HHH great is that he's basically the same guy as a face as a heel - all you have to do is change the story; his personality works well with both roles.

I love Kane, but the whole "inhuman monster" thing just makes it hard to build stories around him. The only conceivable way he could be in title contention at this time is if he's matched up against Taker, and I really don't want to see them fighting.

Kane should get another world championship reign. His tiltle reign lasted less than 24 hours. And I liked Masked Kane better than Unmasked Kane, mainly because Masked Kane was more demonic.

RAW:
-Triple H is back, and I'm loving it, although I don't like him snapping in between funny HHH and angry HHH. They should just make him pick one and stay there.
-Orton makes a helluva better champ than that CERTAIN wrestler that was a champ for over two years almost straight, although I'm still waiting for Mr. Kennedy to get it.
-The Tag Title Picture is getting a bit better, but still not as good as it used to be.
-Women's Division is nearly dead, I swear. Mickie & Beth Phoenix are the only good divas in the WWE nowadays. Victoria never appears anymore.

I don't even watch SD! or ECW anymore.

I can't wait for Y2J to come back, though.
