Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

Well, gold should be like 80 BP with your math. Nobody would have any incentive to buy golds if you can just spend 98 BP to have all your IVs maxed.
I didn't do math, I made assumptions based on previous BP costs (200 is taken from the Ability Capsule).
Also, 98? It just struck me how weird that sounds. Silver has been confirmed to boost 1 stat to maximum. It would take six of them to equal the power of Gold. I just did the math: 48 times six is 288. 200 is actually cheaper.

Personally, I don't think Game Freak would be make a huge deal about this mechanic without making it somewhat accessible. I agree that the bottle caps will probably be purchasable with BP. It makes them rare enough that you have to work for them, but not so much that getting them is an absolute chore. I have a ton of BP waiting in Bank, and I'm sure that many others will also be able to get a lot of BP when transferring their Gen 6 mons into Gen 7.

The only issue, then, is actually building up a Battle Maison-esque streak to the point where BP comes in like crazy; that usually takes a couple of hours. :p If they were purchasable like the Vitamins, that would be even better.

This pretty much. Aside from the bottle caps I'm assuming since it IS called Hyper Training that there's gonna be some sort of minigame involved like Super Training? Will we have to shoot down some more balloon bots or the like? Pokethlon type thing? Maybe there won't be but who knows.

I don't think so. There were no mini games shown to be involved with hyper training. It looks like once you get the bottle caps, you can just go ahead and use it on any of the iv stats of your pokemon right away.

Oh, I kind of just realized that they didn't do ANY hyping up for the ability capsule, despite how big of a deal it is for Pokemon like Scizor. Super Training was hyped up and what do you know it was easily accessible at the beginning. I guess it gives us a hint.

Impossible to transfer BP and Pokemiles from gen VI to VII, they've already told us that.

Edit: Nevermind, misread. It's the wine.

Haha, my bad. I should've been more clear; my point was that all the BP I have right now in bank is due to all the transfers I've done using it. I'm sure many of us will be using it to transfer into Sun and Moon for at least Pokédex purposes, if not to transfer battle ready stuff. All of that accumulates BP that is hopefully usable in Sun and Moon.

QR Codes are not unique, so one can start a game, get a Magearna, store it in the Bank, reset the game and do it again and again to get several Silver Caps. I know I'll do it in my secondary version.

Edited. Thanks, Vader

i dont know if anyone's noticed but the trailer showing the totem pokemon battles has a pikachu with a heart shaped tail, the same pikachu in oras that can change costumes. It would be nice if we can trade it over to sun moon because I know it doesnt let you store that pikachu in pokemon bank. or maybe we get one with new costumes lol. like a hula attire.

All female Pikachu have heart-shaped tails, Cosplay Pikachu however has a black-tipped tail.

If they don't make bottle caps easy to obtain (and change ability capsules and add a way to get more PP Ups/Max) then it will ruin the entire "quality of life" purpose of these items. If GF wants to eliminate cheating, they need to make it easier (or at least as easy) to get perfect pokemon through legitimate means as it is to get them through cheating.

If they add high BP costs to these bottlecap items, people will continue to cheat to get large quantities of them, or just circumvent them entirely.

Female Pikachu have the heart-shaped tail for a long time now - but Cosplay Pikachu had a black heart-shaped tail. Sorry to crush your our dreams.

Pokémon cannot hold items in Bank. Unless you're planning to trade all the bottle caps you get to another game.

Did x and y have a website where every new Pokémon got a cute little story? They really make me appreciate every Pokémon shown so far.
I would normally be indifferent to Pokémon like Bounsweet, Comfey, Bewear and sandcastle mon, but their lore really bring them to life and makes me, if not love, then certainly like them.
Although wtf is up with Alolan Raichus lore lol. Pancakes, seriously?! With a story like that, you could create Alolan forms for literally any Pokémon... Like,
"Researchers are baffled how the ground typed Alolan Diglet and Dugtrio changed into pure Flying types. Perhaps they gained these forms in an attempt to travel between the islands?
Native Alolans when questioned simply shrugged and stated it might have been because of their famous energy drink." Now, imagine a blue Diglet with a brown nose floating in white cloud like the kami trio...

Also, when's the next reveal?

Real talk though, it actually kind of bothers me that there's no real explanation for Raichu's Alolan form. All the other pokemon have one, why not Raichu? I know that not everything in the world can be explained so easily, and in our real life we don't always know why certain animals have certain developments (like how scientists were kinda iffy on why narwhals had tusks for a while.) Sure, the added psychic typing is a little weird and seemingly random, but wouldn't there be pokemon scientists attempting to study it? Couldn't they make some sort of educated guess? Don't just handwave it, Game Freak.

Though the idea of a Raichu eating a pancake is adorable

does VGC 2017 start with the VGC 2016 ruleset?
They are changing a few things about the regionals, so I don't think we quite know for sure. In years past the Fall Regionals were the first ones in the new year, took place in October, and used the prior year's ruleset. If tournaments start before next January (when the new rules go into effect) then they will use VGC 2016 rules.
