If logic exists in Alola and regular Pokemon cannot evolve into their Alolan forms if they were not caught in Alola, I guess there could be some kind of post-game area where non-Alolan Pokemon can be caught. And viceversa in subsequent games.

Actually I'd perfectly would be okay if we're unable to catch the normal version of an Alolan Pokemon, it would be no different from needing to transfer a Pokemon who's not naturally in the game. As I said, the main issue is with breeding the normal version of a Pokemon with an Alolan form, especially if the base doesn't have an Alolan form.

About breeding: I actually think it's simple.
The Pokemon will evolve according to the symbol of the region. If both parents have the same symbol, it will inherit that symbol. Otherwise, inherits the same as the female (As with most features with breeding).
If the Pokemon has the plus, it will be Alolan whenever region (From here and forwards) goes.

The egg moves and abilities will be define after this, so you probably can't pass some moves to a different form.

Example:
Alolan Ninetails F (Assuming Snow Warning) and Kantonian Ninetails M (Drought), will breed a M Alolan Vulpix with Snow Warning. Since both are hidden abilities,
the chances will be go towards having a the hidden ability and not to WHICH hidden ability.
Father has Heat Wave and Power Swap, but only will pass the later one since (presumably) will be a shared egg move for both forms.

Ooh, or maybe Heat Wave will turn into something like Frost Breath.

But if the plus is anything like the pentagon, ANY Pokémon caught, given, or bred in Sun, Moon, or any other Generation VII game will have it, regardless of if the parents are from those games. Like I've said, there will likely be a hidden flag within the Pokémon's code and that it will function identically to how Shellos/Gastrodon work. It makes the most sense, works for future games, and it has precedence.
Your statement on egg moves do make sense.

Honestly, I can see certain Alolan Pokemon just not being able to breed with their Kantonian counterparts altogether. Over time, through genetic drift, the gene pools of two populations that are not reproducing with one another might change so much that they are genetically unable to interbreed anymore.

That could be the case for Sandshrew and Vulpix if the devs were really feeling like being as meticulous as possible when handling movepools that aren't even remotely interchangeable. But that only time will tell.

I think they will change the mechanics of breeding to fit what I said. In case of the Pentagon, because it didn't matter. Now that it does matter, it will probably be a largest role. So I-VI would be just about the same and then from now on become another aspect to considerate of breeding.

This is logical, but you're talking about breeding in a game with Hot Skitty on Wailord Action.

Hey guys! I don't have an image but the Riddler leak mentioned a some new information and images. One being two images mentioning a monkey plus a football player.

First, spoiler tags.

Guys, anytime you want to talk about leaks use spoiler tags, some people don't want to be spoiled if they're potentially true.
Do you have a link of where this info was copied? Otherwise it's just someone saying there's a monkey football player (which has been a prevailing rumor for a time now). And even then what's their source? I'll admit a monkey + football player isn't the first combination I would think of, but people have thought up some crazy concepts.

This is Game Freak we are talking about. When it comes to mechanics, it is fair to look at the past. Them making the plus different just for Alolan Pokémon is unlikely since they don't like change. Also, they don't have to make it obvious if a Pokémon will evolve into a Alolan form or not. I mean, we have the following examples of difficult or impossible to tell:
Shinies that don't look that different to their base form
Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist sizes
Hidden Ability Ferroseed
What Wurmple will evolve into
It isn't Farfetch'd to assume that they would have the determiner be invisible to players.
Also, this would severely limit VGC as it will likely be limited to plus 'mons like it is currently limited to pentagon 'mons.

Sorry needed to see how to use spoiler tags, but this is the link to what I meant before.
I didn't see what you were talking about, but I did see a pic with all of the Kanto Pokemon. Some evolution chains were circled, including all of the ones with Alola Forms, which I'm guessing means that it's a list of who's getting an Alola. If that's what it means, then I can tell it's fake. Pikachu, Cubone, and Exeggcute were circled even though I think it's confirmed that only their evolutions have Alola forms. Even more notable is that Rattata isn't circled.

I can't read this page, but I believe that I understood enough to determine that's it's not a reliable source.

Edit: I missed the English on the one pic that had English explaining the pic... X(

I don't know how many pages ago it was, so I'm not blaming you for missing it, but I believe that Moderators asked for people to ask them before posting about leaks. We prefer to avoid baseless speculation and wishlisting here, and leaks that don't have anything backing them up tend to lead to those things.

Okay, let's take a look at those... *sees site is written in Chinese* leaks... Okay, let's send this site through Google... *Google is not good at translating Chinese*. Welp, as I said those leaks have been around for a while. But while looking through these posts I did find something interesting:

Hmm, so we have what I'm going to call Drampa's pre-evolution, a mammalian Pokemon, and seagulls (Wingull?)

I assume that you're refering to this? I think this is more of a personal tracking list than any sort of supposed leak. If you'll notice, all of the pokémon circled in green and yellow are pokémon that are tied to mega evolutions. The pokémon with dark blue circles received an evolution later, the cyan pokémon are tied to later branched evolutions, and the light blue pokémon will see babies eventually. It's only the pokémon circled in red who have or are tied to those who have received an Alola form at the time that this chart was made.

(Edit: Actually, this is all referenced in an English key at the bottom anyway, but I didn't notice it at first, either.)

So far as I can tell, this page is less about leaks, and more like a reddit page discussing the known information, and making almost joking speculation.

Also, it's yet to be confirmed whether or not Exeggcute, Cubone, Pichu, Pikachu, or Persian will receive Alolan forms, however likely one or the other may or may not be. The only one that we know is coming for sure is Raticate.

I didn't see the "Rugby Monkey", either, but I did find this interesting:

e1ddfc39b6003af3d5e38f233d2ac65c1038b623.jpg
It basically cuts up that poster image from a few months ago, and points out possible hidden references to Pyukumuku, Wishiwashi, and Minior, who were not known to us at that time, and then refers to three other points that may indicate other new pokémon.

This was the main thing that I was trying to get at, and I apologize for not telling any moderators. Since the Riddler leak has been shown before on the thread I thought it would be ok to post it. I'm quite sure that this is the same person as the riddler, but ill stop with the leaking things after this.

Looks like the person is just gathering rumored Pokemon together in one graph, using images to represent a Pokemon if they don't have what the actual Pokemon looks like. Nothing to really take from it.

And I found out something a bit disappointing. Pulverizing Pancake's Japanese name is... Go All Out. Kudos to the translation team for giving it a much more interesting and humorous name. Like it would have still gotten attention if it was called Go All Out in English, but maybe not to the memetic level that it did.

I wasn't asking you to stop period, I was just asking you to ask permission next time. I wasn't trying to stop discussion about all potential leaks, I was just trying to stop discussion about potential leaks that don't have anything backing them up. If there is enough evidence to support it, I'd happily look at a leak.

This looks like a list of revealed Pokemon (including the Fully Evolved Starters from another leak) and question marks representing related unrevealed Pokemon. (Like the Mid Stage Starters and Deity Pokemon) I'm guessing the photos represent rumored Pokemon that haven't been reveled yet. Below the new Pokemon is menu sprites for old Pokemon. Are those rumored to be in the Alola Dex?

No, this is a picture posted by the Chinese Riddler, whom is a confirmed Pokemon insider. (Though NOT responsible for the Chinese leak I translated)
He just doesn't want to give us direct unrevealed information. So he posts riddles and sometimes, he says that certain leaks from 4chan are correct.

Anything posted by him is obviously true.

I DEMAND permission to post Chinese Riddler's stuff on Smogon at once!!
Definitely 100%.
I've already translated a few on Bulbaforums, and I request permission to copy and paste them here!!

How much information is contained in what this person has said? Obviously I wish to keep speculation to a minimum, but I would like to know roughly how much "more" information is to be "leaked" before I give the go ahead. Is it a few pokemon? mechanics? Nothing hugely important?

Around 5 new Pokemon.
1 game mechanism similar to Megas.

Also hints which Alola Pokemon will have a family (directly)

Can you please PM CRoll and I the info you have? :) I highly doubt we would be able to corroborate it, but it's worth having a look over anyway before you spark off another frenzy like before :P
