"WITNESS THE STRENGTH THAT HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN THE ULTRA BEAST LINE FOR GENERATIONS" -Red Ultra Beast

Also, thanks PokeJungle!

I'm getting two Rockruffs so I can get both evolutions :o

I hope they have different stats and types. But both Rock, of course. :D

Is there any more info there or am I just going to Serebii to refresh the page again and again?

According to Serebii, it's one Pokemon called Lugarugan. The form depends on whether you evolve it during the day or night. I don't know if there's any type difference, though; Serebii has yet to translate that.

Not sure which evo I prefer, though. Gonna be really hard to choose, as I love them both.

Game Freak seem to have been this close to creating Z and cashing in, but for some reason they didn't. I wonder if we'll ever hear how close they were, and whether something went wrong.

The 20th Anniversary was went wrong. What sounds more exciting for a 20th Anniversary: The third version of a game that's already out OR a completely new generation. And not only that, notice the big push Gen I Pokemon are getting in Sun & Moon with the Alolan Forms and having their own version of Professor Oak (not to mention it's likely the player character move to Alola from Kanto)? Shelving Z to move onto the next generation was a move to bank on the 20th Anniversary. Heartbreaking for those who wanted to see Kalos at its best which is what the third version does, but by a market standpoint makes sense as the 20th Anniversary might be attracting older fans back to see what has changed and its easier for them to do this with a new generation (with major throwbacks to Gen I) then with a game which is connected to a paired version released a year ago (especially if its a sequel game).

Now let's see what Viridi posted... COROCORO NEWS! Okay, next post I'll post my thoughts!

UB02 Expansion (Lobster?!) Looks like a Stand, out of Jojo...(Oras Oras Oras!!)

If you look carefully down, Tapu Koko is seen fighting UB02 Expansion!

UB02 Beauty (Shrimp?!) Is alright but not specially remarkable.

Wait it seems UB02 Expansion is exclusive of Sun and UB02 Beauty exclusive to Moon. (There is a red rectangle with the Sun Logo and a Blue rectangle with Moon logo for each and not the logos together)

Both are based on Crustaceans then.

Rockruff Evolution has a Day/Night Cycle like Eevee, but this time not by hapinnes as far as we know.

I like the Day Rockruff better but the Night one doesn't look bad either.

Edit: it seems Type:Null will show its true power which is somehow related to UB01-????

It seems Pokemon Go is related somehow to Alola Forms...

No, they're insects.

It's also worth noting that UB-02-Expansion is a Sun exclusive, while UB-02-Beauty is a Moon one.

Nope, since if the previous four games were anything to go by, Pokémon Z would have been released during Autumn 2015. BW came out in early 2011, B2W2 in October 2012, XY in Octover 2013, ORAS in November 2014, SuMo in November 2016. There is a slot between the latter two, well ahead of the 20th anniversary.

Anyway, new CoroCoro. I'm not sure what to think about the Ultra Beasts, though Rockruff's evolution looks... uhh... interesting.

The ultra beasts look so out of place in the Pokemon world. Their designs are kind of dull, maybe ugly? Not in a good ugly way like Heatran either. I sort of hope these things can't be caught.

I prefer the day evolution of Rockruff (I guess the quadruped is the day evolution), but the night evolution seems awesome too. In my opinion, they have different types: rock and something else. I hope Dark for the night evolution.

But what is the secret he shares with the starters?

Anime-related Corocoro leak:

"The first images from CoroCoro have leaked and have revealed the latest news on Sun & Moon's anime series. As always, do note that translations are preliminary while we work on them. The anime series is Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon and will air in November. In it, Ash will receive a Z Ring and meet the Melemele Island Guardian, Tapu Koko. In the series, Ash is going to school and his goal is to graduate "like never before". We'll bring more as it comes" ~ Serebii.net

The Ultra Beasts look ugly... but it makes sense. They are supposed to be eldritch in nature :P

And I was going to say Rockruff's evolutions (entire line, actually) look terrible... but everyone knows that.

Exclusive Z-moves, probably.

I was looking through the Reddit comments, and a couple people speculated that it meant split starter evos for day and night.

I really hope that's true, because I want a Fire/Electric quadped Litten evo.

Ok, leaks out on Serebii! As expected by many, the "secret" behind Rockruff's evo is actually a split evo based depending on the time when it evolves, day or night (thankfully no Synchro evo, at this point I find it very unlikely to happen). Interestingly, the evo has the same species, so it follows the trend of Alola forms of giving different appearance and (I assume) typing/stats to the same pokémon species. I like the day form, not exceptionally fond of the night form though, it looks somewhat Zoroark-ish... As always I'll wait the digital models to judge them better. So, is double evo-forms confirmed for the starters too? I hope so, starters became less interesting conceptually every new gen, they need something to make them a bit more special imho.

As for new Ultra-beasts, I really like UB02 Beauty, and I really don't like UB02 Expansion but I find it hilarious and it's not a pokémon, so I'm ok with it. UB01 is still my favorite. All Ultra Beasts looks both anthropomorphic and based on invertebrates, really interesting! And as much UB01 looks like Lillie, UB02 Beauty looks like Lusamine... This isn't random coincidence.

"10:41: In the scan, it shows UB02 Expansion appearing in Pokémon Sun, facing off against Tapu Koko and UB02 Beauty facing off against Tapu Koko in Pokémon Moon." ~ Serebii.net

Version-exclusive Ultra Beasts confirmed?

EDIT:

"10:58: It also reveals that it will show the true strength of the new Pokémon, Type: Null, during its next issue We'll bring more as it comes"

Well then...

I hope so. I was thinking about day/night evolution too. I want a quadruped Litten final evolution too.

Exclusive Z-moves, probably.
I will be really disappointed.

Does anybody else think the Night Evo looks like Zoroark?

I wonder if we're able to get day evo in moon and vice versa or are we stuck with that forme based on the game? I like both but am leaning towards Sun so far.

I personally really dislike the Ultra Beasts. They're looking far too Yokai Watch inspired for my liking. I expect these games won't be as popular or as loved as the previous ones as basically every single formula has changed, rather than it happen gradually.
Geez, we don't know how much the game has actually changed so take it easy with such bold statements man. Perhaps it'll indeed be something entirely different and we might just love it even more than the previous game, or maybe not; who knows? It is far too early to tell and you really shouldn't be crucifying the game like this months before it is actually released imo.

On different note though, Lusamine and UB-02 Beauty are totally related somehow I'll be shocked if they aren't.

"It also reveals that it will show the true strength of the new Pokémon, Type: Null, during its next issue"

I was kinda hoping to experience it as a surprise in-game, but I'm pretty curious nonetheless. Hope it'll change form, instead of just being itself without the mask.
