it sounds like you can use the QR scanner to get out of dex pokemon but i'm not sure of all the specifics

also it sounds like you can use the ultra beasts in the battle tree
Yup, I can confirm. Streamer on Youtube was using Xurkitree in the Battle Tree Singles.

So this probably means they're allowed on battle spot as well. Which sucks, since some of them will centralize the metagame. I could swallow having every second team having Mega Khan/Gengar/Mence and it was nice to have a place to use them myself without playing ubers, since they were mons you could breed and feel attached to.

Now, one could hardly feel attached to something as horrendous as most of the UBs. Also, the one mega limit helped balance megas since you couldn't simply stack many of them in a team. Now imagine facing a team full of UBs. I don't want to have to put up with that.

also may mean that they'll be usable in VGC. I have mixed feelings on this.

anyways, So how does Hyper Training work exactly? The Gold Bottle Caps are stated to automagically raise all of a Pokemon's IVs to 31, but do the Silver ones raise the individual ones to 31 period or do you need multiples to max out IVs in a stat? (Apologies if it was answered earlier.)

Ughhhhhhhhh

These will be VGC legal too then. I also heard rumors that you could capture multiple of the same UB in the postgame which further indicates that they'll be treated as normal pokemon like the Tapu and trio legends.

I was so excited to see a metagame without absolutely ridiculous power creep. Granted, Pheramosa/Kartana will be much weaker in doubles, but still. one is Diet Deoxys-A, the other is Ferrothorn that trades all of its special defense for M-Ray's attack stat and 109 speed.

I'd say there's a chance the VGC (for this year at least) decides to disallow the ultra beasts. The rules don't mention them now but that was probably supposed to be a "surprise" that you could catch them at all.

I had people ask me to test random stuff. I'll post results:

Liquid Voice does not buff damaging sound moves.

I don't even know how to trigger Adrenaline Orb's speed boost. It's not based on Atk drop, lower level, or low health.

Revelation Dance is ALWAYS the user's Type 1.

Emergency Exit is a U-Turn style move that triggers immediately when you drop below 50%. If you haven't attacked yet, you switch out anyways and miss your attacking turn.

Nothing has been changed from ORAS to SM for:
Protean
Normalize
Spiky Shield

Multiple beasts + uber mega is going to centralize Battle Spot so much...

But honestly my major gripe about them is how alien they are to the Pokemon world. I know, that's their point and it was cool and all when they were just some boss in-game. I know there are mons in all shapes an forms, but UBs feel so weird in a very negative way. I don't want to face them on a regular basis when playing with my Pokemon, some so cool, others so silly and charismatic. The beasts are nothing like this. They look like they come straight from Ben 10. They shouldn't be a staple of competitive pokes but sadly, given their stats and treatment like regular mons it seems inevitable now :/

I wouldn't count on UBs being banned. They all have 570 BST, and you don't get them through events. Would go against everything they've ever banned.

seeing them in pokemonamie honestly made them all more pokemon like

guzzlord in particular is adorable. big ol blobby mouth monster

So apparently Darkrai is now the only Pokemon that can use Dark Void. Other than Hyperspace Fury and the exclusive Z-moves (and kinda Sketch and Chatter?), are there any other moves hard-locked to specific Pokemon that we know of?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread. I considered putting this in the old gen changes thread, but I'm not just asking about old gens. I'm also wondering if, for instance, Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam are fully exclusive. Stuff like this could have implications for balanced hackmons if it's common.

Any news about hidden abilities? Regarding availability in-game. Specialy for Snow Warning Nintales

ok look i know its a long shot since i dont think its description or anything changed

btu does run away let you switch out of shadow tag or mean look

What really? well that sucks! oh well. a man can dream.
but gives hope that the game doesn't recognise a Z-move as being a sound based move and hit soundproof Pokemon.

Do you know if Z-moves are effected by accuracy drops or evasion though. Bright powder too! Do they all hit like faint attack and swift, or can they actually miss, and that's you Z-move used up for the game.
I don't know why that person replied to you that way. What he said didn't contradict the conclusion you'd reached at all. If a target is immune to a Z-move, it won't be damaged by it, as that person said. But Bug Buzz isn't a Z-move; it's a base that allows the activation of a separate Bug-type Z-move that, presumably, isn't sound-based, so Soundproof is irrelevant. No Z-move is affected by the characteristics of the move used as its base (some require specific base moves to activate, but once they're activated they are still separate moves with their own characteristics).

Adrenaline Orb's boost is only triggered by intimidate.

There's our Landoge nerf.

Does it work if Clear Body blocks Intimidate or does it have to actually be lowered?
I don't know, all we have to go off the item right now is its description in the text dump. Someone would have to test that in game to see. Although I doubt it.

Bottlecaps - easy to get? Someone earlier mentioned you can buy them with shards in the postgame, but I don't know if shards are easy to get. I would prefer not to buy a save editor or soft reset for things.

You can also buy them with festival coins.

Also does anyone know if hyper training is still there or was it scraped as well?

Saw this on Neogaf, thought i should share it with you guys:

HA%20Confirmation.png

It's an image confirmation of Hidden Abilities availability in-game (just as Lascelle told me)

This is awesome :)

This was just posted in the Mine Resource Thread by Nexus :

A) There are two types of Bottle caps: regular and Gold Bottle Caps. Regular Bottle Caps boost a single stat to its 31 IV equivalent while Gold boost all stats. Bottle Caps do not change IVs they merely boost stats so your Pokemon's Hidden Power type will reflect its original IVs if (i.e if your Pokemon's IVs are 0/0/0/0/0/0 it will still have Hidden Power Fighting after raising its stats with Bottle Caps). Your Pokemon must be Level 100 to undergo Hyper Training.

Just want to confirm, does that mean that a Pokémon that has been Hyper-Trained will pass down its lousy IVs when bred?
