How do I participate in the Global Mission? It says I need something called a Game Sync ID but I have no idea what that is...

In order:

1. Leveling up your plaza gives you access to new facilities.
2. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe the max level is 100.
3. Festival Tickets can be received (three daily) and used by talking to the woman in the blue outfit in front of the castle. They let you partake in missions, which are used to raise your Festival Coins.
4. I believe tapping on the pink person shaped icon in the Festival Plaza shows you how many Festival Coins you have. The amount of Festival Tickets can be checked either by talking to the aforementioned lady in the blue dress, or looking into your item bag.
5. You can spend Festival Coins in the various facilities in your Festival Plaza.
There is no max level. Well I mean, in a literal sense there definitely is, but for our purposes there effectively isnt one. You stop unlocking new features at level 100, but its 300 festival coins to every subsequent level and I presume Sophoclese continues to show you random facilities to install.

Is there any point in installing these new facilities? Up until now I've skipped all of them.

Is there ANY chance to get a Magic Guard Alakazam without Pokebank?

I could think of a Smeargle running Imprison/Teleport/Heal Pulse (to ensure it does not KO itself with Struggle), but is there any other way?

Sounds like technically it's possible, though it would be pretty absurd and positively a pain. I see no reason why they wouldn't let the HA be ingame (and Serebii says it is available). That being said, Galvanize Geodude is about equally a hassle because every Geodude / Graveller ingame has a self-destruct move and all we have for damp is the Polis and non-Simple Beam Golduck.

I'll try for it, sounds fun.

Well, I just looked for the answer on my own out of curiosity and, apparently, Teleport fails if the user is trapped, and does not work if the user has an SOS ally, so there is a simple way to make SOS chains on an Abra.

Arena Trap Trapinch (cheapest pick), Mega Gengar (if you want to go to the ridiculous route) or Mean Look + False Swipe (best pick to maximize SOS chance. Requires a Smeargle or Umbreon for Mean Look though) Absol seem to be good choices, although one has to pay attention with the fact Abra will run out of PP before the battle reaches 30 chains (Teleport has 20 PP).

Still... why didn't they make Kadabra be available in the wild?

Have anybody figured out the exact conditions or chances for hail in Tapu Village?

I've visited the damn place more than every other day since the games were released in Europe, and apart from rain when I first got there, I have never seen anything other than clear skies there. Am I visiting at the wrong times of day, or am I just really unlucky?

I looked this up a lot when trying to find a Politoed to finish my Dex and I came to the conclusion that nobody has a clue what causes it to happen. I've never seen rain in Malie Park or Lush Jungle and nothing at all at Tapu Village (and frankly never knew there could be weather at those places until I looked it up online). It's probably Mirage Island shenanigans all over again.

you could always fly to the Pokemon League and see if the winds blowing; if it is, you can hop down and SOS chain right by the lift around the Pokemon center. I've had good luck in blizzards appearing relatively frequently there.

At worst, apparently forced weather conditions (IE Hail, Rain Dance, Drizzle, etc) also work for getting weather-based Pokemon for SOS Chaining (that sounds weird so Vanillite can be found if you SOS chain while it's hailing in Tapu Village and if you use Hail / Snow Warning midbattle and SOS chain in Tapu Village), though I don't know if it has an effect on the rarity of the SOS Pokemon.

I don't have the answer to your question, but if you want snow in order to spawn Vanillite/Castform (and I think that's the only practical use for it ) you can set it up manually in-battle with Hail and it'll work just the same. To be honest, though, I didn't even know it could rain or snow on Tapu Village at all.

edit:
what Carrier said.

That's strange. I've seen rain probably a majority of the times I've been in Tapu Village. I've never seen hail anywhere in the region, though. (But as Corrin said, if you're looking for it in order to find Vanillite or something, you can just set the weather in battle.)

Are regular abilities passed down somehow in breeding, or will the hatched pokemon have a random ability?
There's an 80% chance that the offspring will have its mother's ability, or the father's if breeding with Ditto. (like 80% chance of Abra having Synchronize if its mother has it and 20% chance of having Inner Focus instead) If after you've bred the Pokemon it still lacks the regular ability you want on it, you can use an Ability Capsule to change it. (albeit these cost 100 BP, or complete a 50 win streak at the Battle Tree and return the next day)

It's actually 20% to get ability 1, 20% to get ability 2, and 60% to pass it from the mother (or father + Ditto).
It doesn't change anything in case of standard abilities, but if you go for the hidden one, that's how it will work.

Can confirm.
Set up rain with absol on lush jungle on a false swiped caterpie and the first thing it showed up was a goomy.

When using pickup does a pokemon with pickup have the finish the battle to activate the ability? Trying to farm a destiny knot.

No, pokemon that don't participate can pick stuff up. I'm not sure, but I think you might have to win said battle rather than running away.

If looking for a destiny knot, I recommend putting a team of legends/UB's together to get the BP needed for it in the Battle Tree. Pickup chaining, in my opinion, is much more tedious and annoying, while you at least feel like you are progressing in the Battle Tree (or Battle Royale, if you prefer).

Thanks. Guess I'm getting unlucky with my 5 pickup pokemon with a 1/10 chance each to proc it. I will say 48 bp is better spent on other things IMO.

I second the UB/Legends team. Koko, Lele, Bulu, Fini, Pheromosa, and Kartana are all solid options to tackle the battle tree. I've heard Xurkitree is alright too.
