I don't like the concept of real people in ultra land.

Like you're going to go out of your way to establish all of these cool-looking pokemon with weird designs (well, short of Phero) as being very specifically alien... and then you just stick people in there. Why people??? It'd almost be better if they were just straight up greys or something, having them pretty much be blue humans is dumb. Why they have Japanese names that don't sound foreign is beyond me. Imagine if you met an alien in Unova and their name was "Hamburger" or "Barbecue"...
THe implication seems to be that the different UBs are from different worlds themselves. Buzzwole is from a hyper tropical (prehistoric...?) world while Xurkitree is in some weird electric dimension. The recon team may only be native to one specific world, the one where necrozma stole the light, while the other worlds are uninhabited

People are so going to call this thing "Midna", aren't they? lol

I almost want it to evolve into something that resembles Midna's true form.

The addiction of actual "Aliens" living in other worlds is totally unforeseen but I think it's a good one.

It really puts emphasis on the fact that "Ultrarifts" arent just random weird places: it's connections to completely different dimensions, with different life forms, some of which are actually intelligent and human like.

It really pushes further the concept shown in Delta Episode, of the existance of different realities, and with certain powers (some Mega evolutions, Z crystals, etc) actually being able to tear those dimensional walls and (temporarly?) connect different dimensions.

Seeing as how 2 team members are using Adhesive, plus its generally smaller and weaker look, it really seems like something that evolves.
Hopefully

An evolution is definitely a possibility: in the end, Ultracreatures are simply "Pokemon from another dimension", and I believe Cosmog is shown to be a Ultrabeast in theory, so it's a realistic possibility that Adhesive can evolve, or that there could be actual pokemon families in the Ultraspace.

Okay, so Mind Blown halves Burst's HP. Currently, all recoil moves either deal 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 of the damage dealt. With the exception of Head Charge, moves that deal more recoil damage are stronger (Light of Ruin and Head Smash are 1/2, Flare Blitz and Brave Bird are 1/3, Take Down and Submission are 1/4).

To me, the recoil of halving Burst's HP seems like a fairly "harsh" punishment relative to dealing 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 of the damage dealt. Obviously it's not as harsh if Burst is weakened, but typically with a 1/3 recoil move like Brave Bird, even if you OHKO the opposing mon, you don't take quite that much in recoil (for example, Staraptor, Talonflame, Heracross, and Infernape all have about 300 HP, so they'd lose about 1/3 of their health if they OHKOd with Brave Bird).

Because of this, it seems to me that the Nintendo devs will likely consider Mind Blown's recoil to be more harsh than the recoil moves which deal 1/3 of the damage. All of the 1/3 damage recoil moves have 120 base power, so I think it's very likely that Mind Blown has at least 120 power, probably closer to 140 like Light of Ruin. Therefore, Z-Mind Blown will likely have 195 or 200 power, which is fantastic because Fire is a great neutral typing (see early Gen 7 Inferno Overdrive Volcarona - not the same since Volc has Quiver Dance but you get the idea).

Really impressed with what we've seen so far from USUM. Been saying for a long time that I dreaded going through Alola again for the third and fourth time in a year, but the storyline looks hype with new worlds to explore. Also, idk why they're messing with UB Sticky's name. Sticky sounds so much better than Adhesive smh

Hopefully we get some more details and leaks from this month's Coro Coro, since it'll be the penultimate one before the games are released.

the games come out after Corocoro does and there's a fair chance of it leaking before the games leak

Is anyone else exited for the prospect of a good Sticky Web pokemon? Hopefully it will evolve into something fun like Poison/Psychic or Poison/Fairy.

You know, now that we’ve actually seen the UB home I feel conflicted that we invade their home & capture them.

Also curious to know how or if they will make Necrozma sympathetic, I.E. wanting light to save itself or something.

How does this affect future games? I would hope that legends who are tied to specific regions are given away in events from now on. I haven’t reset all the legends in ORAS and don’t want to do something like that again.

True dat lol, we now became the invaders in the Invaders BW2 movie.

We saw Phyco use UB Sticky but not Dulse/Zossie. Hopefully that means Dulse/Zossie use a new UB exclusive to Sun (counterpart to Sticky) that will be revealed soon.
I strongly doubt about this one. If it was the case, then it will most likely be released along with UB Sticky (honestly I like Adhesive more, sounds more professional) instead of being released seperately, unless GF trolled us again like how they did with Zard X and Y.

Think of it this way, all of the different dimensions are connected by Ultra Wormholes. They're all alien to each other but some of them may share more similarities than others. The "Pokemon World" is just one of many, and they're not the only one with advanced civilizations who are capable of exploring and colonizing space. These guys did the same thing as your player character (assuming that they're not humans from the Pokemon World themselves, which is what I thought they were before people started speculating otherwise...)

Besides, we already know that "parallel Alola" is basically a separate dimension anyway (the portal you go through to change the time, or perhaps Sun and Moon versions in general). They're pretty much the same worlds but still different dimensions accessed through wormholes as well.

The fact that people still say the same thing when you crossed the dimension boundaries as if you're already there before really bugged the hell outta me.
Yeah, when you got to play parallel universes outer-dimension human beings are almost guarenteed to appear, especially when Ultra Space is a cluster of multiple universes/worlds instead of being a single separate space.

Maybe this is too reaching but could the Recon Squad members be past characters who got lost in Ultra Wormhole like Anabel?? Since they appear to be wearing masks, it's hard to tell but:

Dulse could be Anabel because of the purple hair ...

Zossie could be one of the Chatelaine sisters or Iris if she dyes her hair (she licks her lips like Iris too)

Phyco could be Juan with the way he touches his mustache and the hand behind back stance

Soliera could be Karen?

It's possible, right?

More news confirmed from the Hong Kong Pokemon site.
Mind Blown, the sig of Burst, is confirmed to be a fire-type move that removes 1/2 of its maximum health.
Assembly is confirmed to be 820 KG in weight. If it does learn heavy slam, it would have just about the same base power of Celesteela, although it would have more cases of having less than 120 BP.

A thought just crossed my mind: since Beast Boost is a ability that the UB's get upon arriving through a wormhole and now we're fighting them in there homeland, will they have there "regular" abilities? Cause it would be odd if creatures living light years from each other would all have the exact same ability.

As far as we know, the newly revealed UBs all have Beast Boost.

That'd be awesome if it did happen though, and it'd make enough sense.

We only saw one ultra beast in their natural habitat in SM, but we didn't get to battle it. However, the Nihilego-Lusamine's mons all had a boost to their stats, so who knows?

I just noticed that UB Adhesive was captured in a Beast Ball - which was developed by Aether? So, there has to be a connection between Aether and Ultra Recon somehow?

I also noticed that. It would be too easy/a letdown to say they just stole the Beast Balls. I think there must be some cross research going on, like the Ultra Recon Squad has connections to someone in the Aether Foundation and helped them develop the Beast Ball in secret in exchange for some of them (because remember the Beast Balls aren't cheap to make). And is the Aether member who is doing this one of them in secret (prime suspect would be Wicke, she's very mysterious, has access to the Beast Balls, and we do never see her battle)?

Like that's any different than what we normally do. :P Forest, cave, alternate dimension, if your a Pokemon than you're a potential slave to the ball. Only Pokemon who you could say people have the "right" to capture are the ones who make their home in towns and cities... but even then they're ancestors probably lived there long before people made their homes so maybe not. #TeamPlasmaWasRight

You know, I kind of just want it to be Necrozma is just a light eater. That's all. It's not "evil" per se, but it's actions are definitely evil and must be stopped.

Pokemon games always had a habit of including other regions mascot Legendaries somewhere if they feel it's been a while since those Legendaries were made widely available. Personally I think we should more focus on the trend of making the older Mythical Pokemon more easily available. I get keeping some Event exclusive, but we don't need more than one or two per generation.

We saw Phyco use UB Sticky but not Dulse/Zossie. Hopefully that means Dulse/Zossie use a new UB exclusive to Sun (counterpart to Sticky) that will be revealed soon.

Dulse (serious man) and Soliera (woman) uses UB Adhesion. So no version exclusion on that part, but who knows if maybe Phyco (mustache man) and Zossie (little girl) maybe have another Ultra Beast, maybe even version exclusive ones.

IF we're going back to my prime number theory, Adhesion brings the count to 10 (at least for unique individuals, not counting evolution families if they have them). Now one more would bring the number back to being a prime number, but also three more. We know of one set of version exclusive and I'm guessing Adhesion would be in both versions, so maybe they can Phyco and Zossie another set of version exclusives and than another wild one that would be in both versions.

Possible but not likely. That said I'm curious if they do have something to do with the Fallers.

Ooh, that would be neat of them to do, though I could also see them copping out and saying that by catching them in an other worldly device it changes their Ability to Beast Boost.

If so, Buzzwole has to get the ability Big Pecks.

....

I'm sorry, I'll leave now.

Welp, didn't know that because I was looking at Hong Kong Nintendo's web and did not look at other languages' ones, lol

If they give them alternate abilities, then Celesteela must have Heavy Metal as its another ability. So you gonna lob 120 BP heavy slam every day at everybody.

Have the ever added uncoded abilities to existing Pokemon mid-generation before?
