Pokémon GO

Is there a cap to how many gifts you can carry at a time? I've been stuck at 10 for a few days now despite spinning quite a few Poke Stops. Not that it really matters because I still need to walk Eevee, just curious.

In the end, I just used 4 free raid passes for Houou. No shiny, but then again, I already have 2 shinies (and no shiny Lugia), and I did get 14/15/14 Houou anyway.

And then I caught a Lv35, 13/15/12 shiny Larvitar. Random Number Arceus has blessed me.

As said, 10 is the max, better send it when it is maxed, to send more and raise friendships.

Wait huh? What's that silver-ish berry you can get as a reward?
from Serebii: "Doubles the candy obtained by capturing the Pokémon & increases the chance of capturing the Pokémon by 80%."
basically a Pinap Berry and a Razz Berry together ^_^

Additionally, the Silver Pinap raises motivation the same way the regular variants do and is also (at the moment) unavailable outside of the Celebi quest. Wonder if we'll be able to farm them later.

The Yokosuka Safari Zone should be live starting soon. It is the final piece of the puzzle that allows us to unlock shiny Moltres and the Ultra Bonus upon completion of the three grand events that happened throughout the summer. Hopefully this is Gen 4...

Shiny Wingull and Pelipper should be released worldwide after this goes live as a result. There's a finite number of those in player's inventories at the moment due to a mistake too!

So I finally downloaded PokeRater. Is there a way to, other than screenshotting every Pokemon I have and scanning them, register them in the Pokedex? It doesn't make much sense to me that I have to look at their silhouettes unless I've scanned them before.

Is there a thread in which I can find your GO friend code?
Mine is 313061896505 by the way. In case you need gifts or for the Celebi "make 3 new friends" task.

Damn that's pretty epic, can't wait to use those on some legendaries :D

Just to be 100% clear in case I mess up:

1. Eevee evolves into Espeon by walking an Eevee for 10km, then evolving during the day.
2. Eevee evolves into Umbreon by walking an Eevee for 10km, then evolving at night.

Are both those statements true? I'm at 9.9km after I got to work (smh) so in another 7 hours I can evolve him.

Just to be 100% clear in case I mess up:

1. Eevee evolves into Espeon by walking an Eevee for 10km, earning at least two Eevee candy from walking, then evolving during the day whilst it's your buddy.
2. Eevee evolves into Umbreon by walking an Eevee for 10km, earning at least two Eevee candy from walking, then evolving at night whilst it's your buddy.

To clarify my bolded additions to your lines:
  • if you walk it for 4km, then switch it out as buddy, then put it back in as your buddy and walk 6km, it won't evolve as you've only earned one Eevee candy.
  • If you walk 10km, earn two candy, then remove it as your buddy, you CAN make it your buddy again and evolve it whilst its your buddy to get Espeon/Umbreon

Does anyone know if Aggron is going to be a raid boss again? I really wanted to net it when it was still a boss, but I was too late. Now I never see it appear anymore :/

We don't really know anything Niantic does. The best bet of Niantic making it a boss again will likely stem from it hitting something super effectively (they tend to put raid bosses that "counter" a legendary raid boss). Otherwise, just try to get Aron during Partly Cloudy weather.

Am now at ripple in time 7/8 as finding grass/psychic types is getting to be a grind, only caught 6 this morning so far. The first one, a Drowsee, accomplished my curveball excellent throw so that was quite anti-climactic there.

I haven't seen a single grass/psychic type in my area in the past few days. The Sunkern have completely disappeared, and I've never had many psychic types around in the first place. Torchic and Mudkip have begun to spawn, and I've been seeing a lot of Venonat in addition to the usual Weedle and Rattata. Getting slightly worried about the quest, but the worst case scenario would be having to wait until Chikorita Community Day, so that's not too bad.

I should be finishing 5/8 on Monday (Sept 3rd) when I trade with a coworker, so the earliest I can start on 7/8 would be the Sunday (Sept 9th) after anyway. Having to wait until Chikorita Community Day gives me ample time to get that curved excellent, though I doubt I'll have it done by then.

This is getting to be a grind. I recommend going to cluster spawn locations especially during rainy (lotad), cloudy (bellsprout, oddish, roselia), clear (grass) & windy (psychic) conditions. I tried going to a nest location and only got about 6-7 spoinks within 30 minutes. I'm now at 31 caught, 9 to go, would've completed by now but have to prepare for this weekend's trip now. Not sure if there's any gyms or pokestops where I'm going so I made sure I had 3 completed tasks so I can claim them on consecutive days until Monday.

Will there be a double candy event (soon) in the future? Still got all my Larvitar from the event a few months ago. Waiting for a double candy event to transfer them :D

Wow, I randomly threw a curved excellent this morning on a Lotad. TOO BAD I WASN'T ON 7/8 YET ugh I'm so mad this might be my only curved excellent in the next few months.

Also I'm now 6/6 on Regirock, which is actually insane given that I'm unable to constantly throw even curved greats. The only legendaries I'm missing are Kyogre and Mewtwo, whose raid I'll miss tomorrow because of work. It can't be that difficult to look at my gym patterns and notice that I'm only ever there on weekends smh.

I didn't even want to bother with the Regis now. I caught one and that's it. I feel like I'm too lazy to raid these days....
And even if they're made able to defend gyms, they're still useless as they're weak to Fighting, with Machamp everywhere. At least I still have some will to get AloRaichu....

Maybe I'll just look for Piloswine? and stash candies. Gen4 is imminent at this point....

As we completed all the requirements, the above is a summary of this week's event.

Moltres in the Moltres Day know Sky Attack upon capture!

The Ultra Bonus, thanks to our efforts in completing the Dortmund's Safari Zone, Go Fest, and Yokosuka's Safari Zone challenges, will be announced September 10th!

Hey guys, since I'm hoping to take on Moltres with the people in my small town (I discovered there is actually a very dedicated community here...) I was wondering how many people with say, mostly 2k-3k mons would need to defeat Moltres or any other level 5 raid. I've been looking at the CP levels and it seems like most are 40k and up, so I'm guessing at least 5 is probably a good start. Any advice? I realise there's a huge variety of factors here, but let's just say my own team would be *mostly* super-effective types, but not necessarily resistant.

I think the fewest number of people I've completed a level 5 raid with was 7 (so 8 including me).

By the way, is Moltres worth getting?

I've duo'd tier 5s; CP doesn't paint the full picture and more often than not what's going to determine an accurate size to take on the boss is your counters and the levels they are at, weather, and friendship boosts. Besides, Moltres in this CD is a Tier 4 Raid Boss; it is easier than you think it is and also has a different timer (180 seconds).

Consider the following resources:

1) Counter Graphics:

There are many of these floating around the Internet that give you an idea on what Pokemon you need to beat a particular raid boss. Moltres is a straightforward boss: it only has Fire-type moves, it is doubly weak to Rock-type attacks. Thus, Rock-types are the best answer, followed by Water- and Electric-types. A full and simplified list of counters and how they match up against Moltres can further be found here.

Here's a graphic that showcases the top 10 best things to use against Moltres, as well as the trainers required to beat the boss with:

5db790c.png

(Golem and Alolan Golem are exactly the same since Moltres will most likely not wield Sky Attack when you face it, rendering the double resist useless). Having even 5 people is overkill with the appropriate counters.

Not shown on this list is things such as Gyarados, Milotic, Sudowoodo, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Water moves Omastar, and Starmie. Even generalists such as double Dragon Rayquaza and Mewtwo can be used if needed.

2) PokeBattler

PokeBattler is a simulator that showcases a variety of things pertaining a boss. Noteworthy is the fact that you can create your own team by creating an account and see how it fares versus the boss itself - basically showing what your inventory is capable of and what you need to supplement it. Covered in the graphic above, here's the Moltres page on what is considered the best things against it.

Basically - check out resources and prepare like this, educate your locals and you will find yourself not needing that many people to beat the boss. The less effective your counters and those that surround you have, the more you're going to need. That, or just get a group of 20 people and destroy the boss with whatever you want.
