Metagame Chimera 1v1

Water + Electric + Fairy + Flying

[Roost, Hydro Pump, Hurricane, Knock Off, Toxic, Ice Beam]
[Scald, Thunder, Charge, Ice Beam]
[Soak, Ice Beam, Scald, Laser Focus, Magic Coat, Toxic]
[Brave Birb, Roost, Iron Defense, taunt, mirror move]
[Judgement, Thunder, Light Screen, Reflect, Refresh, Recover, etc...]
[Thunder, Nasty Plot, Recover, Taunt]

The basic idea is that you have the suggested rain spam with thunder, but you also have some z-move options: Water Bubble Waterium, E-Terrain Charge Electrium, E-Terrain Soak Electrium, and Flyinium-Z Brave Birb/Mirror Move. You also have Pixialate Judgement Koko, especially for normalize shenanigans. The STAB combo is very solid super effective coverage.

My deepest apologies for being almost 2 months late, I waited for another week after the deadline to see if anyone wanted to add their submissions, but when that didn't happen, I seemed to forget it entirely.

Anyways, voting is up, with the following typing subs:
Anaconja's Water/Electric/Ice/Dragon
Gravity Monkey's Water/Electric/Steel/Flying
lalalama's Water/Electric/Fairy/Flying

Since there are only 3 of them, there will only be one vote. I will vote for Gravity Monkey.
Edit: you can't vote for yourself

First off, I am glad to say that I finally picked the last two moves out for it! These two moves allow this to be a thing:

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Synthesis
Something that finally uses the last typing not used yet, and a good thing to since there was an abusable fighting weakness between my chimeras. Psyshock is the STAB move, and it's run over Psychic since it's extra effect is significantly more useful when most of my mons are specially oriented. Ice Beam is used for dragon coverage which is helpfull for my chimeras, and also provides another way to hit Flying-Types. The other two moves are standard.

Earth Power is a better compliment for the STAB Nature Power that my Normal-Type chimera uses over Flamethrower thanks to hitting Rock-Types in addition to hitting Steel-Types. Will-O-Wisp over Toxic in order to spice up the utility (Since it was all Toxic and Recovery. This will help add some variety and also a better FEAR match up).

Last time I ran Spacial rend for the fire wall as coverage. However, I think it would be better to run some kind of secondary STAB with it (Even though it'll be weaker, it's a cost i'm willing to take since it's for a defensive mon).

Could a potential update happen to the OP?
Updated!

Gravity Monkey wins with the Water/Electric/Steel/Flying combo. Looks like this team has a slightly worrying lack of good stat passers, but it should still work pretty well.

Slate 3 will be up soon.

I have a quick question because I don't see it clarified in the OP. I know that it you are allowed to use megas and other forms in battle, but are you able to put them in the teambuilder to use their typing, ability, or stats? For example let's say I want my chimera's ability to be Primordial Sea, so I put Pogre on my team in the 3rd slot. On ROM what happens in game is regular Kyogre shows up and my chimera's ability is Drizzle. Is it suppose to work this way? I'm fairly certain some of the coding is broken on ROM rn because it won't let my chimera have more than two moves no matter what I do. Thanks!

I'm very sure you cant use mega forms like that.

Your third and fourth moves come from the third and fourth moves of your last Pokémon. Because your Pokémon only had two moves, your chimeras only had two moves.

To have Primordial Sea as an ability, you would need to have Kyogre as the first Pokemon and the second Pokemon hold a Blue Orb. Megas aren't allowed to exist in the teambuilder, since the metagame is supposed to be based on normal cartridge mechanics (besides making the chimera, of course).

Additionally, since no one else is submitting, I’ll extend the deadline to next Friday.

Download could be really powerful here, as you can mold your team such that your chimera could be either Physical or Special attack depending on what you think would be better against your opponent.

This is a rushed team example to demonstrate how easy it is to have both a physical and special set for your Chimera:
Volcanion
Ability: Water Absorb

Regigigas @ Choice Specs
Ability: Slow Start
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

Genesect
Ability: Download

Kyurem-White @ Choice Band
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

IVs: 0 Atk

Greninja
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Waterfall
- Gunk Shot

Ho-Oh
Ability: Pressure
- Sacred Fire
- Earthquake
- Earth Power
- Overheat

Body: Volcanion
Item: Choice Band via Kyrem-W OR Choice Specs via Regigigas
Ability: Download via Genesect
Stats: Regigigas OR Kyrem-W
Moves 1&2: Sacred Fire+Earthquake (Ho-Oh) OR Hydro Pump+Dark Pulse (Greninja)
Moves 3&4: Waterfall+Gunk Shot (Greninja) OR Overheat+Earth Power (Ho-Oh)

If Water Bubble is not banned, than that is probably the strongest ability in the meta, being as good as Huge Power for water type moves. Maybe should be quick banned.

Also Skill Swap + Normalize + Ghost type seems broken, because unlike in BH, you can't switch that Pokemon out to remove Normalize. Skill Swap + Traunt + Protect also works the same way. Perhaps Normalize and Traunt should also be on the ban list.
i was completely baffled on how this meta works until you simply posted this
Body: Volcanion

Very excited to see Chimera finally being exposed more. If anyone wants to, they can share more teams that have worked out for them, as well as some ideas on the current meta.

I might revive the CCaT as long as more people give submissions.

2 things in this meta that need ban ASAP
normalize skill swap and chansey
chansey can't be 2 hit ko'd or maybe even 3 hit ko'd

EDIT: the entire meta is normalize skill swap and chansey now
anyone know how to beat chansey?

Skill Swap Normalize is circumvented by Z-Moves (as I posted before in the thread), which are already a big part of Chimera 1v1. Chansey I can see as an issue, mostly because of Eviolite. What are your guys' thoughts on which is more banworthy?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7chimera-869781647

I think there might be something going on with the abilities here. This guy has both intimidate AND speed boost from his team.
This is a bug, but Spandan said that he's fixed the code and that'll be merged soon.

Hey enjoying the meta, but one big bug.
The HP bug needs to be fixed, its allowing chansey to be abused all over.
Its because the HP stat is being taken from the 1st pokemon. so if you run chansey in first, evilote in item slot, shuckle in 3rd. night shade and seismic toss in move set.
To put this into context you get a chimera with shuckles defenses (230)X1.5 and chanseys 250 hp. (Shuckles base HP stat is 20 ,chanseys base defense is 5)
See https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7chimera-869653747

Apart from this bug, stall/gimicks are quite easy to handle in this meta with fast taunts, substitutes, spectral theifs and just powerful wallbreaking

I watched and played some games myself and found that this bug is extremely annoying, only being beat by Trick + Choice item (which can be circumvented by using Z-Crystals) so until the HP bug is fixed, Chansey, Blissey, Shuckle, and Eviolite will be banned. Tagging The Immortal to implement.

edit: I'm banning Light Ball too because +2/+2 offenses on something like Deo-A is broken.

Aw, so my broken Psychic Surge + Sturdy Lele is gonna get fixed? haha

On a realer note, I'm having a lot of fun mixing various Sturdy / Shell Smash / Psychic Surge / Terrain / Custap / (Z-)Prismatic Laser / Photon Geyser / Z-Screens strategies together. Psychic Terrain and Photon Geyser/Moongeist/Sunsteel in particular seem great.

I'd like to build a team around Shell Smash, but I'm really struggling. I'm having to unlearn just about everything I've leared about teambuilding and I'm finding it tricky. Any tips?
