what

if youre gonna make noms that make 0 sense, at least back them up. dont just randomly nom them down for no reason. I disagree with all of these btw. everything seems in a decent place atm imo. I'm not tryna minimod either, but like at least describe why you want the changes you want.

(April Fools Day Post) VR Noms Part Two:

Jumpluff A- ---> S/Banned
This is the main reason for nom post. Jumpluff has the capability to beat every Pokemon at or below 110 speed, which is completely absurd and highly overcentralizing. That's 745 Pokemon, or over 90% of all Pokemon in the game! One may say: "But TDA, Grass-type Pokemon are immune to both Sleep Powder and Leech Seed, isn't that enough of a balancing factor?" Well, that by itself may be true, but the people who utilize this argument fail to recognize that Jumpluff has access to STAB super effective Flying-type moves, alongside access to Flyinium Z and Swords Dance. Utilizing Swords Dance, Flyinium Z, and Bounce, Jumpluff can defeat almost all Grass-types in one fell swoop, and still have enough room to run Sleep Powder and Leech Seed. It's like the Dark Souls of Tapu Koko Leech Seed stall. And with Gamefreak announcing their plans to rebuff Sleep and Freeze back to Gen 1 mechanics for Sword and Shield, the seeds of Jumpluff's dominance in 1v1 have been sown.

Alongside this nom, I would like to quickly fire off some other noms that I forgot to mention in my last post, but I believe deserve to happen:
Carracosta B- ---> A/A+ and Togedemaru C- ---> B+/A- Both of these Pokemon have been utilized by highly influential Poketubers in the 1v1 metagame. Even when I initially viewed both of them, I thought they would be mediocre at best; however, as everyone who uses these two, strangely on the same team the respective Poketubers ran, would attest, these Pokemon must be good. It wouldn't make sense for either to be anything less than top tier.
Klang UR---> S and Volbeat UR ---> Somewhere Please ryyjyywyy I've done what you asked now release my family.
Pikachu UR ---> B/B+ I have discovered a new tech for Pikachu that I think is strangely underutilized:

Pikachu @ Focus Band
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 HP
- Endeavor
- Encore
- Extreme Speed
- Electroweb
This, or "4E", as I like to call it, is FEAR aron with priority. Utilizing Focus Band, a criminally underrepresented item, this Pokemon has the potential to be essentially a better Aron. It's kinda crazy that ppl are sleeping on this. But I'm glad I finally had the courage to release the evil strategy to the public.

Swellow is better; has Scrappy

Decidueye needs to move from Unranked to Untested. Made a set which is not really overwhelming, but is quite utilizable seeing how special attackers are taking over the meta...

Decidueye @ Decidium Z
Ability: Long Reach
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Atk / 60 SpD / 184 Spe
Careful Nature
- Swords Dance
- Low Sweep
- Laser Focus
- Spirit Shackle

Doesn't beat MDos, doesn't beat Zards, but beats Primarina, Magearna, no SpA Lele (0 SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 60+ SpD Decidueye in Psychic Terrain: 303-357 (84.1 - 99.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) and Aegislash... Low Sweep is to underspeed Mew and DeoS, but that's an WoA-only thingy, so when u don't need Low Sweep, you got good options in Brave Bird, Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak, which is useful for beating lesser guarenteed matchups like Heracross-Mega and Metagross-Mega. But not like it's insane or something.....

Ambipom C+ ----> B-
its fake out + z giga impact combo is a huge nuke that can hit very hard, and kill zardX/Y, dnite, normalium pz, lele, meloetta, mew, mGardevoir and many others.
His 115 Speed allows it to outspeed all base 100s without having to resort to a jolly nature.
Its moves Low Sweep and Tickle (combined with normalium z) let it beat things like mGyarados, Incineroar, Tyranitar, Swampert, which otherwise
it would struggle against.

It can also use its Skill Link ability to run a choice banded tail slap set, using its better coverage moves (Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Foul Play etc.) over something like Cinccino.

Whimsicott B- ----> B
Whimsicott is a pokemon people are sleeping on.
Its standard leech seed stall set can already take out a majority of the meta (i.e. magearna, pz {scarf if no uproar, normalium with predicts}, magnezone, slowbro, zygarde, kommo-o etc.), but it also has access to other utility:
- Taunt + Babiri/Occa Berry: taunt works amazing on whimsicott, not only does it take care of things that heal themselves, it can also outspeed other taunters with prankster and impossibilitate them from taunting back. Babiri berry takes care of all and every steel type moves user (except bullet punch mMetagross), and Occa Berry beats all fire types (except victini, unless you pair occa berry with cotton guard).
- Moonblast + Fairium Z: Many players can be baited into thinking Dark types like mGyarados or Greninja, or Taunters like Kommo-o can easily stop whimsicott from winning, but they are met with their demise when it throws out its Z-Moonblast and kos them.
-Bright Powder + Grass Whistle: this one is for the mGengar lovers. you can sub 4 times hoping for the 10% miss, and if that fails, just grass whistle at the end for the 55% sleep chance. This combo gives you around a 50% win condition against almost every pokemon that counters it (i.e. naganadel)

Things that Whimsicott loses to?
Grass types, but those are reduced to mVenusaur, Ferrothorn and Kartana in the current meta, making it the second least dominant type.
Poison type moves, but those are to be dealt with by z-charm on most physical attackers (example: sawk -2 252+ Atk Sawk Poison Jab vs. +1 252 HP / 44+ Def Whimsicott: 124-148 (38.2 - 45.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO), and whimsicott can have a chance against all other poison type move users with the bright powder grass whistle set.
Dark types, but this is a good thing to lose to since most of them can be baited in and get dealt with by the z-moonblast set.

Some Noms and echoes I've been saving for a while

169443

Regice ----> B/B+

Echoing Osra's Nom, and I'd argue that it should go higher. It utterly slays in the current special focused meta, and it beats so much people don't expect it too, giving it excellent lure value. also some of it's more niche sets such as fightinium and av are fun to mess around with too.

169445

Pheromosa C+ -----> B-

It being C+ is a crime in all honesty. Extremely fast, Applies excellent offensive pressure. good synergy with top mons, This thing is better than the garbage its put with in c+ (cough emboar cough).

169446

Stakataka D -----------> C

Been messing with this recently, really been loving it. Countering Zards are cool, being a general wall to anything not packing eq or a fighting move is cool as well. I'd say C but C- could also work, it just needs to rise imo.

169447

B+ ------> B

This thing is struggle in this meta. Everything being bulky rn hurts it hard, and it faces competition for a superfast attackers from zerora,deos and phero. It's good for slaying low ladder, but its generally mediocre outside of it.

169448

Untested -----> D/C-

I used this in the past, not so much recently, but I'd say its scarf set is good enough to be ranked. Breaks stuff easily with giga impact, good coverage. Its not really good, but it's definitely usable.

169449

C+ ------> C

Has anyone actually used this thing? Meta is generally unkind to it, lele claps it because psychic terrain blocks bullet punch, generally mediocre all around. I feel its due for a drop.

the lord setup killer of 1v1
alakazam –> at least A
169517

this set beats any setup like shuckle and jumpluff (this set is made for that) and encore beats toxic users on turn 2.
faster taunt users can threaten it but energy ball is there
watch out for boufalliants tho(they taunt and have sap sipper and can finish u off go 4 a taunt in that case)
alakazite is also good for it.
other noms (no explaining):
pheromosa –> b- I agree
shuckle –> c
riolu –> unranked
unban koko

lolgod2 alakazam is garbage this gen. the advent of zmoves destroys its viability. zmoves completely wall encore and disable. it was only usable in oras b/c most non-megas used choice items to get their power. phero has a tiny movepool and 1000000x less survivability than kyub. it autoloses to anything its not super effective stab against. no reason to be b or b-. shuckle, like the other mons, gets demolished by zmoves and/or taunt. easy enough to counter and not even worth a ranking. especially given its nearly nonexistent usage on ladder above 1200. riolu, agree. read above + dark type immunity to prankster + even more priority users. FREE KOKO he did nothing wrong

kyub is banned and alakazam is a beast on toxic users(beat dd gyara with encore) and are there examples of z moves? (z celebrate gets rect)
on turn 2 they can only struggle(lol) they struggle kill
to at least b

Hi since you're not running protect, your Alakazam will just die to any attack ever because of its paper thin defenses. And even if you were any pokemon with the ability to Z move or just change moves in general will still break Alakazam. Most strategies in 1v1 involve a strong pokemon doing a strong attack, which will beat Alakazam every time. Furthermore this Alakazam is completely is completely outclassed it's Mega Evolution because of the boost in speed. As for z move users, are pretty much the vast majority of non-mega pokemon, including but not limited to: Magearna, Dragonite, Zeraora, Magnezone, Tapu Lele, Porygon Z, Aegislash, Kommo-o, etc. Furthermore anything faster than Alakazam, which is base 120 speed, also will be able to outspeed and KO Alakazam, this includes Mega-Lopunny, Greninja, Naganadel, and anything with a Choice Scarf.

So in summary, Alakazam loses to:
- Anything with a damaging Z move
- Anything that will hit it with 2 strong attacks.
- Anything that is faster or has a scarf.

Now I don't want to discourage you from exploring 1v1, but please actually play the game a bit before you make a new nomination.

If you want to see which Pokemon use what items/moves/sets usually and most effectively, you can check it here: https://pokepast.es/f83a6a502d0141ca

VR usually shows a player which Pokemon are relatively well-poised to (theoritically) be used for the then current metagame trend. This is the VR which is currently being used

.... While Alakazam(-Mega) can run a set which looks threatening, it is really at a very bad position to be used to get consistent wins. Player rankings isn't that good of an indicator about his experience and opinions regarding the development of the meta because of the nature of the metagame or so I kid myself; If u could make a list of Pokemon your set could beat based on list compiled on the first post by Osra , you'll find that DisableCore Alakazam, mega or not, beats next to no Pokemon, and so(I suspect), won't move up the ranks.. Please stop this discussion; I can't post too much stuff dissing my god Alakazam

I have a hunch that lolgod2 could be a stale April Fool's day joke, it literally joined on April 1, idk though.

On another note,
Diggersby
diggersby.gif

UT -> C-/C, could even be higher idk
With a bunch of coverage moves from Gunk Shot to Wild Charge, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and Superpower, and powerful STAB like Giga Impact and EQ, this rabbit has proven itself to be strong. 240 Spe and a Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed Greninja. Alternatively, you can run a Jolly Nature with 220 Spe EVs to outspeed Mega Lopunny, but I prefer to run Adamant to maximize its damage. This mon beats Gardevoir, Tapu Lele (With 112 SpD you survive a scarf Psychic, 252+ SpA Tapu Lele Psychic vs. 0 HP / 112 SpD Diggersby in Psychic Terrain: 262-310 (84.2 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO), Non-Scarf Greninja, Naganadel (With 64 SpD you survive a scarf Draco Meteor, 252+ SpA Naganadel Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 64 SpD Diggersby: 262-310 (84.2 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO), Some Zygardes, Garchomp (With 12 Def you survive a scarf Outrage, 252+ Atk Garchomp Outrage vs. 0 HP / 12 Def Diggersby: 262-310 (84.2 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO), Haxorus (With 88 Def you survive a scarf Outrage, 252+ Atk Haxorus Outrage vs. 0 HP / 88 Def Diggersby: 262-310 (84.2 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO), Genesect (Just make sure you have a higher SpD than Def), Tapu Fini, Tapu Bulu, Primarina, Magnezone, some Zards, some Magearnas and many more (I'm too lazy to mention all of them)

Diggersby though has a lot of weaknesses. It's weak to mons that can survive a hit and just OHKO it back or finish it with a priority move (MMetagross, MBlastoise). Weak to mons with Sturdy (Donphan, Golem, Crustle). Weak to mons who can stall it out (Type: Null, MSlowbro, DeoS, Mew). There are many sets to explore like Z and Choice Band, but IMO Scarf is the best set.

Thank you for reading
