Title: Generation 7 Berry Guide

Introduction

In this article, I will discuss Berries, a feature that was introduced in the Pokémon Gold and Silver games around 20 years ago. However, much like the number of virtual monsters that consume said Berries, the number of available Berries, as well as their respective uses, has grown over the course of time. By the end of this article, you should be able to make use of the full potential of Berries during your journey across the Alola region.

1. Locations

You will find a manifold variety of Berries throughout the Alola region. The vast majority of them can be found under specific palm trees, are occasionally guarded by feasting Crabrawler, or can be stolen from wild Pokémon via the move Thief, whereas others can only be obtained from NPCs or even from certain events. Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order of all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, as well as the locations you can obtain them in:

2. Poké Pelago Harvests

Your Poké Pelago's Isle Aplenny allows you to plant and harvest more Berries. Once you have developed your Isle Aplenny to the point where it has reached Phase 3, you will be able to plant up to 18 Berries at once. During Phase 1, you can only plant up to 6 Berries, and during Phase 2, you can only plant up to 12 Berries, hence why it is well worth the time and effort to develop your Isle Alpenny fully. Berries will require either 24, 48, or, in some cases, even 72 hours. You can, however, speed up the ripening process by placing Poké Beans into the small crate. One Plain Bean adds 20 minutes to the counter, one Patterned Bean adds 1 hour, and one Rainbow Bean adds 2 hours. The crate of a Phase 3 Isle Aplenny can hold up to 50 Poké Beans! Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order of all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, as well as their respective ripening times:

3. Effects

Berries can fulfill an entire range of different purposes for your Pokémon: refilling its health, replenishing the PP of its moves, raising its friendship level, reducing the number of invested EVs in one of its stats, raising a stat during battles, and even reducing the damage caused by an incoming super effective move. You name it! It is also worth noting that Pokémon with the Gluttony ability will consume some Berries when their health drops to 50%, as opposed to 25%. In most cases, your Pokémon will not be able to consume their Berries when they are facing an opposing Pokémon with the Unnerve ability. 4. Further uses for Berries

While the previous paragraphs of this article mainly described the beneficial effects that Berries can have when your Pokémon consume them, such as sponging a super effective hit and regaining health during battles, the rest of this article will place the emphasis on a number of other clever uses for Berries.

4.a Natural Gift

The move Natural Gift is an example of how a Pokémon can make use of Berries to dish out damage as opposed to just passively using them to sponge an incoming super effective move, regain health, or replenish the PP of a certain move. Both the type and the power of Natural Gift depend on the Berry that the user is holding. Down below you can find a complete list of all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, sorted by Natural Gift's resulting typing and Base Power:

Dye Shops of certain colors are version-exclusive just like how certain clothes are. In addition to this, the various color shades depend on the rank of the booth. Pastel shades always require 15 of each Berry, dark shades require 30 of each Berry, and bright shades always cost 100 FC and cannot be obtained with the help of Berries.

4.c Infinite SOS chains

As we reach the end of this article, I would like to share one more clever use for a very specific Berry: the Leppa Berry.
As you may already know, the Leppa Berry replenishes 10 PP of one of your Pokémon's 4 moves to help prevent it from having to use Struggle. However, the following trick will actually let a wild Pokémon make use of this Berry in order force it to call for help endlessly! Under normal circumstances, a wild Pokémon would only be able to consume this Berry once, granting your SOS chain up to 10 extra turns before the Pokémon is eliminated by Struggle or before you have to use another Pokémon as the caller. However, Pokémon like Phantump and Trevenant have access to the ability Harvest as well as the Egg move Bestow and the tutor moves Trick and Skill Swap that you can get in both the ORAS and USM games. First, let your Phantump or Trevenant hold the Leppa Berry and pass it to the wild Pokémon that you want to chain via either Bestow or Trick. On the next turn, pass your Pokémon's Harvest ability to the wild Pokémon, hence creating a Pokémon that continues to generate infinite Leppa Berries and thus never runs out of PP, keeping your chain going for as long as you want. This strategy can be used if you use SOS chaining for EV training, but it can also be used to hunt for Hidden Ability Pokémon efficiently, and it should also be beneficial for the Shiny hunters among our readers! Once your SOS chain has fulfilled its purpose, you can harvest the fruits of your work even further (literally) by getting your Leppa Berry back, either via Trick or by using another Pokémon from your party that knows the move Thief. So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and hunt without having to worry about the caller Pokémon being defeated by Struggle ever again!

Conclusion

I hope that I helped you understand Berries and the manifold range of their respective uses a bit better. Who knows? Maybe you even learned something that you had been unaware of up until now!

Wow that was fast! Thanks MO. Just gonna lazily copy/paste myself here cuz it's late...

I'll give it a read in the coming days but in the meantime, paging the usual QC crew: cant say Lego Xen Its_A_Random Theorymon atsync Sondero Eisenherz

Alternatively, if y'all know of someone else who would be fitting to tag (or don't want to be tagged), please say so. Or if you're reading this and feel like you have something good to add, chime in!

Finally an occasion to live up to my CT! \o/

For the 50% berries, the listed natures aren't accurate. The ones you list are some of the natures where the Berry would be appropriate when in fact, they're appropriate for all natures except 4. Aguav Berry confuses Pokémon with a nature that lowers SpDef, Figy Berry confuses Pokémon with a nature that lowers Atk, Iapapa Berry confuses Pokémon with a nature that lowers Def, Mago Berry confuses Pokémon with a nature that reduces Speed and Wiki Berry confuses Pokémon with a nature that lowers SpAtk.

I would also not officially refer to these 5 as "pinch berries" even though many people do, because that's a broader category of berries (Salac Berry, Custap Berry, Starf Berry, etc. - every berry that activates below 25%, ie. "in a pinch", is technically a pinch berry). There's no official name for 50% berries so people came up with their own, I think "50% berries" is the best since it also clearly points to what they do. "Super Sitrus berries" is also used by some people (and has been used by commentators on official Pokémon streams if that holds any weight).

On another topic, I think it might be useful to list the Natural Gift berries maybe not alphabetically, but by move typing + BP, it would nicer for people looking for which berry to use (which is what I assume they'll refer to this table for mostly).

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I will correct the table with the "50% berries" right away.
I will also proceed to rearrange the table with the Natural Gift berries according your suggestions!

Edit: All of Eisenherz's suggested changes were successfully implemented! This article is henceforth ready for the 2nd QC!

Nice work MO, thanks. Only have a few edits/comments this time:

Locations
  • Pecha - Wurmple isn't in SM/USUM.
Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with all of the berries...
You may want to consider specifying it's all berries currently obtainable in Gen 7, since some berries are excluded from the table.

Effects
  • I think the accuracy boost from Micle is 20% not 50%.
  • I'd consider adding what percentage Oran/Sitrus activate, since may of the other entries have this info.
  • A bit superfluous, but you could also mention Gluttony/Unnerve here.
Natural Gift
  • Think Apicot's power is 100, not 80.

Thank you very much for the feedback and the additional suggestions. I'll proceed to implement them right away!

Changelog:

Wurmple was removed from the table.
I specified the "currently available in Generation 7 games" in front of all of the tables!
The entry for the Micle berry was fixed. It's indeed 20%, I mistook "+1 stage" accuracy-wise for "+1 stage" stat boost-wise.
While on the topic of the Micle berry, I also specified that it only works for only 1 move and also only for 1 turn!
The activation times for both the Sitrus-, and the Oran berry were added to the table!
I mentioned the effects of the Gluttony and Unnerve abilities in the paragraph before the table.
The Apicot berry's power was changed to 100.

I hereby confirm that all of the changes were successfully implemented and I also welcome the opportunity to thank my friends from the Wi-Fi Discord for confirming some of the pieces of information for me!

Hey again Max. Optimizer

It seems like no one else has anything to add and Eisen and I were happy with the changes. I gave this another cursory glance and can't think of anything else that you could add, so if you're satisfied feel free to move to GP. Of course if anything comes up later we can sort it out in the meantime :) Thanks again!

Add Remove Comments (AC) = Add Comma (RC) = Remove Comma
Part one of two on this, a few things to note.

- "Berry" is always capitalized when talking about a pinch Berry, even when used without a specific name (The suggested item is a Berry). If not talking about some kind of pinch Berry, then it should not be capitalized (Pichu enjoys berries in its salad). <- Directly from GP standards.
- Stats shouldn't be abbreviated.
- Super effective is two separate words.

Title: Generation 7 Berry Guide

Introduction

In this article, (AC) I welcome the opportunity to place the emphasis on Berries, a feature that was introduced in the Pokémon Gold and Silver games around 20 years ago. However, much like the number of virtual monsters that consume said Berries, the number of available Berries, as well as their respective uses, has grown as well over the course of time. By the end of the this article, (AC) you should be able to make use of the full potential of Berries during your journey across the Alola region.

1. Locations

You will find a manifold variety of Berries across your journey through the Alola region. You will find (Redundancy) The vast majority of them can be found under specific palm trees, occasionally guarded by feasting Crabrawlers Crabrawaler, and or by stealing them from wild Pokémon via the move Thief, whereas others can only be obtained from NPCs or even from certain events. Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, as well as the locations you can obtain them in:

2. Poké Pelago Harvests

Your Poké Pelago's Isle Aplenny allows you to plant and harvest more Berries. Once you have sufficiently developed your Isle Aplenny to the point where it has reached Phase 3, you will be able to plant up to 18 Berries at once. During Phase 1, (AC) you can only plant up to 6 Berries, (AC) and during Phase 2, (AC) you can only plant up to 12 Berries, hence why being able to plant of up to 18 Berries is well worth the time and effort spent into fully developing your Isla Aplenny Isle Alpenny. Berries will either require 24, 48, (AC) and in some cases, (AC) even 72 hours. You can, (AC) however, (AC) speed up the ripening process by placing Poké Beans into the small crate. One Plain Bean adds 20 minutes to the counter, one Patterned Bean adds 1 hour, (AC) and a Rainbow Bean adds 2 hours. The crate of a Phase 3 Isle Aplenny can hold up to 50 Poké Beans! 4. Further uses for Berries

While the previous paragraphs of this article placed the main emphasis on the beneficial effects that Berries can have when your Pokémon consume them, (AC) in order to sponge such as sponging a supereffective super effective hit or to regain regaining health during battles, (AC) for example, the rest of this article will place the emphasis on a number of other clever uses for Berries!

The move Natural Gift is an example of how a Pokémon can make use of Berries to dish out damage, (RC) as opposed to just passively using them to sponge an incoming supereffective super effective move, to regain health, (AC) or to replenish the PP of a certain move. Both the type and the power of Natural Gift move depend on the Berry that the Pokémon in question is holding. Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, sorted by there type their typing and by their Base Power:

Similar to how certain clothes are version-exclusive, Dye Shops of certain colors are also version-exclusive. In addition to this, the various color shades depend on the rank of the booth. Pastel shades always require 15 of each Berry, dark shades require 30 of each Berry, (AC) and bright shades always cost 100 FC and cannot be obtained with the help of Berries. I would like to welcome the opportunity to give a shoutout to Frazone for helping research some of the data.

4.c Infinite SOS chains

As we are reaching the end of this article, I welcome the opportunity to share one more clever use for a very specific Berry: the Leppa Berry.
As you may already know, the Leppa Berry replenishes 10 PP of one of your Pokémon's 4 moves to help prevent it from struggling to death being overcome by Struggle. However, the following trick we will actually let a wild Pokémon make use of this Berry in order to get us a Pokémon that can and will call for help endlessly! Under normal circumstances, (AC) this Pokémon would only be able to consume this Berry once, only granting your SOS chain 10 extra turns before the Pokémon struggles to death is eliminated by Struggle or before you have to use another Pokémon as the caller. However, Pokémon like Phantump and Trevenant have access to the ability Harvest, (RC) as well as to the Egg move Bestow and the tutor moves Trick and Skill Swap that you can get in both the ORAS and USUM USM games. Now, what this means is that you let your Phantump or Trevenant hold the Leppa Berry and pass it to the wild Pokémon that you want to chain either via Bestow or via Trick. During the next step, (AC) you pass your Phantump's or Trevenant's Harvest ability to the wild Pokémon, hence creating a Pokémon that continues to harvest infinite Leppa Berries, hence thus (Redundancy) never running out of PP, keeping your chain going for as long as you want. This strategy can be used if you use SOS chaining for EV training, but it can also be used to efficiently hunt for Hidden Ability Pokémon and it should also be beneficial for the Shiny hunters among our readers! Once your SOS chain has fulfilled its purpose, you can harvest the fruits of your work even further (literally) by getting your Leppa Berry back, either via Trick or by using another Pokémon from your party that knows the move Thief. So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and hunt, without having to worry about the caller Pokémon struggling to death being defeated by Struggle ever again!

Conclusion

I decided to use tables, in order to keep the admittedly notable amount of information organized and reader-friendly to the best of my abilities. In this sense, (Is this part really necessary?)
I hope that, by the end of the article, I helped you understand Berries and the manifold range of their respective uses a bit better and, who knows, maybe you even learned something entirely new that you had been unaware of up until now?

Title: Generation 7 Berry Guide

Introduction

In this article, I welcome the opportunity to place the emphasis on will discuss (phrasing, wordiness) Berries, a feature that was introduced in the Pokémon Gold and Silver games around 20 years ago. However, much like the number of virtual monsters that consume said Berries, the number of available Berries, as well as their respective uses, has grown over the course of time. By the end of this article, you should be able to make use of the full potential of Berries during your journey across the Alola region.

1. Locations

You will find a manifold variety of Berries across your journey through throughout (repetition) the Alola region. The vast majority of them can be found under specific palm trees, are occasionally guarded by feasting Crabrawler, or by stealing them can be stolen (parallelism) from wild Pokémon via the move Thief, whereas others can only be obtained from NPCs or even from certain events. Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with of all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, as well as the locations you can obtain them in:

2. Poké Pelago Harvests

Your Poké Pelago's Isle Aplenny allows you to plant and harvest more Berries. Once you have sufficiently (subjective change; this word isn't totally necessary because you get more specific late in the sentence, but you can keep it if you'd like) developed your Isle Aplenny to the point where it has reached Phase 3, you will be able to plant up to 18 Berries at once. During Phase 1, you can only plant up to 6 Berries, and during Phase 2, you can only plant up to 12 Berries, hence why being able to plant up to 18 Berries it (redundant; you just said this) is well worth the time and effort spent into fully developing to develop your Isle Alpenny fully. Berries will either require either 24, 48, and or, in some cases, even 72 hours. You can, however, speed up the ripening process by placing Poké Beans into the small crate. One Plain Bean adds 20 minutes to the counter, one Patterned Bean adds 1 hour, and a one Rainbow Bean adds 2 hours. The crate of a Phase 3 Isle Aplenny can hold up to 50 Poké Beans! 3. Effects

Berries can fulfill an entire range of different purposes for your Pokémon: refilling a its health, replenishing the PP of its moves, raising its friendship level, reducing the amount number of invested EVs of in one of its stats, raising a stat during battles, and even reducing the damage caused by an incoming super effective move. You name it! It is also worth noting that Pokémon with the Gluttony ability will already consume some Berries when their health drops to 50%, as opposed to 25%! 25%. (If I were to read this out loud, I don't think I'd shout it or give it extra emphasis. Thus, I'd use a period over an exclamation point, but if you disagree, it's your call.) In some most (subjective change; there aren't too many cases. Mold Breaker, Core Enforcer, and other ability nullifiers?) cases, your Pokémon will not be able to consume their Berries when they are facing an opposing Pokémon with the Unnerve ability! ability. (same as above) Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with of all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, as well as their respective effects:

4. Further uses for Berries

While the previous paragraphs of this article placed the main emphasis on mainly described (repetition) the beneficial effects that Berries can have when your Pokémon consume them, such as sponging a super effective hit or and regaining health during battles, for example, the rest of this article will place the emphasis on a number of other clever uses for Berries! Berries. (Again, I'm not sure I'd emphasize this sentence if I was talking in real life.)

4.a Natural Gift

The move Natural Gift is an example of how a Pokémon can make use of Berries to dish out damage as opposed to just passively using them to sponge an incoming super effective move, regain health, or replenish the PP of a certain move. Both the type and the power of Natural Gift depend on the Berry that the Pokémon in question user is holding. Down below you can find a complete list in alphabetical order with of (it's not in alphabetical order if it's sorted by type) all of the Berries that are currently available in the Generation 7 games, sorted by their Natural Gift's resulting typing and Base Power:

4.b Dying Clothes

The Dye Shops that you can unlock for your Festival Plaza allow you to make use of Berries in order to dye white clothes in the pastel shade or the dark shade of the colors (Are the colors capitalized in-game?) Red, Green, Orange, Purple, Yellow, Blue, Navy Blue, and Pink.

Similar to how certain clothes are version-exclusive, Dye Shops of certain colors are also version-exclusive just like how certain clothes are. (wordiness) In addition to this, the various color shades depend on the rank of the booth. Pastel shades always require 15 of each Berry, dark shades require 30 of each Berry, and bright shades always cost 100 FC and cannot be obtained with the help of Berries. I would like to welcome the use this (In such a context, "welcome" means "appreciate", which means it's not the best word choice here) opportunity to give a shoutout to Frazone for helping to research some of the data.

4.c Infinite SOS chains

As we are reaching reach the end of this article, I welcome the opportunity would like to share one more clever use for a very specific Berry: the Leppa Berry.
As you may already know, the Leppa Berry replenishes 10 PP of one of your Pokémon's 4 moves to help prevent it from being overcome by having to use Struggle. However, the following trick will actually let a wild Pokémon make use of this Berry in order to get us a Pokémon that can and will force it to (wordiness) call for help endlessly! Under normal circumstances, this a wild Pokémon would only be able to consume this Berry once, only granting your SOS chain up to (repetition) 10 extra turns before the Pokémon is eliminated by Struggle or before you have to use another Pokémon as the caller. However, Pokémon like Phantump and Trevenant have access to the ability Harvest as well as the Egg move Bestow and the tutor moves Trick and Skill Swap (You could end the sentence here) that you can get in both the ORAS and USM USUM games. Now, what this means is that you First, (wordiness) let your Phantump or Trevenant hold the Leppa Berry and pass it to the wild Pokémon that you want to chain via either via Bestow or Trick. During the next step On the next turn, you pass your Phantump's or Trevenant's Pokémon's Harvest ability to the wild Pokémon, hence creating a Pokémon that continues to harvest generate infinite Leppa Berries, thus never running and thus never runs out of PP, keeping your chain going for as long as you want. This strategy can be used if you use SOS chaining for EV training, but it can also be used to efficiently hunt for Hidden Ability Pokémon efficiently, (split infinitive) and it should also be beneficial for the Shiny hunters among our readers! Once your SOS chain has fulfilled its purpose, you can harvest the fruits of your work even further (literally) by getting your Leppa Berry back, either via Trick or by using another Pokémon from your party that knows the move Thief. So, what are you waiting for? Go out there and hunt, (RC) without having to worry about the caller Pokémon being defeated by Struggle ever again!

Conclusion

I hope that, by the end of the article, (We're at the end) I helped you understand Berries and the manifold range of their respective uses a bit better. (period) Who knows? Maybe and, who knows, maybe you even learned something entirely new that you had been unaware of up until now? now!
Ok, I'll call this done. Sorry for the delay. GP 2/2

abort, change all the width properties on the tables to max-width please

also remove the width property from the h3 in toc, rn you've set it to half a pixel more than toc itself which means that it's covering the right border (not sure how half a pixel works in the first place but), but it isn't needed at all anyways

also i think i'd prefer if you removed the line height from the paragraph css, rn it makes the layout look pretty inconsistent with other articles. some diversity is fine but this gives the whole thing a different feel. if you want to fill the page out a bit more visually you can put extra spacing around the hrs

that's all i got Ryota Mitarai
