BTW, looks like the leaks are officially dead as now the two twitters that was posting the pics are arguing with each other who accidentally revealed the leaker's identity first.

Yeah things are done for the day. Primary sources are out and this drama has halted the twittersphere.

Going slightly off topic, but here's a short rundown about the discord leaker if anyone is curious.

backstory

1. Leaker posts the pictures of the fossil mons to a "leak discord", and ends up leaking part of his Discord screen in the one with Arcovish. Twitter tweets them. In the lower right you can barely make out a profile picture. This is important.

2. ???

3. A youtube channel with a matching profile picture somehow gets tracked down by the notorious hackers 4chan. I assume there was other information in the process I'm missing, but the deed is done. EDIT: Likely people within the discord narrowed it down within the user list.

As it turns out he is not very interesting but I'll 'protect' him anyway. At least he tried to be anonymous about it unlike the guidebook guy and his blurry images, too bad he wasn't more careful. If Nintendo's keeping an eye on things they've got a target now.

To sum it up: He left his discord avatar in and Nintendo probably knows who he is now

Lots of Galar today. This is interesting, not much room left now. I came across this spreadsheet from an anon (http://boards.4channel.org/vp/thread/40738911) who estimates about the same though it probably has some differences.

It wasn't part of today but I liked that a Galarian Farfetch'd exists. Kind of gives me hope for the stick.

Things to keep in mind since not everyone might be familiar with this:
-Galarian evolutions are counted as cross-gen evolutions.
-Some mons were already counted from the non-spoiler thread (eg it was already known mons like Alcremie, Corviknight and Drednaw would have pre-evos so I don't need to add those this time around)
-While not seen, Lunatone is counted since Solrock was seen in Pokedex photos
-Galarian forms do not have their bases and variants counted separately. They are counted as one Pokemon, listed under the number of regional variants for a generation.
-The number in parantheses are the increases from last update.
-There's been an error! Last update I calced Kalos home dex representation as 41%, but it's only 39 actually.

Kanto - 54 (48 original, 6 regional variants) (+5)
Johto - 32 (22 original, 5 cross-gen evolutions, 4 cross-gen pre-evolutions, 1 regional variant) (+1)

With the Kalos error fixed up, Unova has a decisive lead for overall home dex representation. Unfortunately, its overall galar dex lead has been lost to Galar, which now has a 3.3% lead over even that region, as it should considering, well, it's the new Pokemon of this particular region. Kanto has accumulated a bigger lead over some of the remaining gens than last update but still not by too much, and it's still tied with Alola. And poor poor Hoenn, stuck below even the 30% representation threshold.

Remember when I asked y'all those 3 questions about your new fav mons, Galarian forms and Gigantamaxes? Well after this round of reveals, have any of those opinions changed for you?

Fav mon: if it wasn't obvious already, I still am in love with impidimp and its evolutions did not disappoint
Galarian form/evo: Obstagoon has such a great design and concept. Cursola is starting to grow on me though
Gigantamax: Centiscorch, very badass and looks like a legend of zelda boss

It's been under an hour and only one page, but I'm reposing this.

You know what would be the perfect cherry on top of this chaos would be? If everything was fake! I like a lot of the stuff here, but not as much as watching the world burn.

Intriguing idea... but that's usually not how the Pokedex works. Dex usually includes version exclusive Pokemon since another trainer could use it (and encourages players to trade to complete the Dex).

If I had to guess why they were excluded, maybe they felt the front of the T-Rex would look awkward on the Fish's and Bird-Dino's body and the Bird-Dino's body would look awkward with the Fish's and T-Rex's head.

Yea, this only works if they did some weird numbering with the dex. False hope is all.

If my math isn't wrong, there's about 669 pokemon if you take away all legends, starters (minus charizard line), mythics (minus Mew), and Ultra Beasts. So the answer appears to be: Most of them. Edit: If true.

That's my bad (if its indeed a mono Pokemon and not a Flapple evolution). In all the excitement I was the one who noted the gap between Flapple and Espurr and assumed a Flapple evolution.

How do you know. If you know anything about Pokémon is that you should never take things at face value. ESPECIALLY Psychic type pokemon. Those are just rammed with Japanese folklore. At face value Celesteela is a bamboo rocket. But its actually based on a specific Japanese folktale.

With respect to legendaries, it's worth remembering that there is precedent for them not being the last in the dex. Specifically, Zygarde as a returning legendary was number 261 in the Alola dex -- though I don't recall the logic of why.

(Also, on this note, Mewtwo was *after* Zygarde in the Kalos dex. Postgame legendaries like in Sinnoh aren't out of the question.)

Correct me if I messed up the counting, but if everything on the OP is true, we have about 79 new additions so far. (Not counting forms. Counting only entirely new species) The national dex count is at 888 species right now.

For refrence, Sun/Moon introduced 81 new species. Coutning all of gen 7 however, it introduced 88 new species.

X/Y introduced only 72 new species if you were wondering.

If the number of new species introduced is similar, that would mean about 95% of the new species have been shown to us in some way.

Ill be expecting only 4-5 new species from this point, knowing I could be totally wrong about this. (Maybe a few mythicals?)

Not gonna lie, if only 300-320 "regular" previous Pokemon are in the game, and then there is a dozen legendaries or mythicals from past gens crammed after Eternatus, that's going to be disappointing.
