Was just curious because I missed you guys ;_;I’d personally be up for another slate because the last temporary break we had lasted a year and a half but that’d be up to Samtendo09

Winning submissions are good. I didn’t expect the starter trio I had to go catch on so well. I feel kind of nice about it- maybe I’ll have a friend sketch them out.
- What do you think of the winning submissions?
- What should we do with Moves introduced in Legends: Arceus?
We even got two different trios from different users, too. And a lot of work for me to update the spreadsheet!*Winning submissions are good. I didn’t expect the starter trio I had to go catch on so well. I feel kind of nice about it- maybe I’ll have a friend sketch them out.
As for the moves introduced; moves like Chloroblast and Raging Fury are easy because they’re clones of Steel Beam and Outrage. Moves like Victory Dance and Shelter are interesting- they’d have to be balanced in some way. Shelter needs to remove the evasion, and Victory Dance could do without the hard hitting stance and crits.
I think the winning submissions are fantastic. I can tell everyone was at the top of their game this slate, which makes me excited for future slates. I honestly didn’t expect Metatrog to be as well-received as it turned out—it was definitely one of my more off-the-wall ideas.Congratulations for all winning submissions! One problem though…
Ema Skye, your Hisuian Spinda line submission contains Victory Dance, which does not have traditional move data until at least Generation 9. I don’t think it is a good idea to provide moves from Legends: Arceus for future submissions for the time being. Victory Dance will be added once we figure out a solution.
Now is the good time for discussion.

The winning submissions are actually pretty good. Makes me wonder if another slate will come out.

The following moves are not clones of other moves and should therefore not be included in our meta, as their effects and base power could be changed if they ever make it over to a competitive game and we can’t know what they could possibly be:
I would also like to consider the possibility of having PLA’s Hisuian forms and evolutions included in this Pet Mod. Many of their movepools will be extremely lacking due to the general dearth of moves in PLA, but others such as Wyrdeer and Ursaluna can inherit their pre-evolutions’ Natdex movepools as well as any added moves. The forms themselves have already been coded, including their Abilities as datamined from Pokémon Home (because sure, we all know how well that went last time when they “datamined” High Horsepower Azumarill and Rising Voltage Tapu Koko), so I think it’s worth at least thinking about.
- Barb Barrage
- Bitter Malice
- Infernal Parade
- Bleakwind Storm (thank goodness, we do not need a move with a 30% freeze chance)
- Wildbolt Storm
- Sandsear Storm
- Springtide Storm
- Ceaseless Edge
- Stone Axe
- Dire Claw
- Esper Wing
- Lunar Blessing
- Mystical Power
- Psyshield Bash
- Shelter
- Take Heart
- Triple Arrows
- Victory Dance

Is coding still a thing? Do I need to code my winners?
It’s settled then; none of these moves except the ones that are clones of pre-existing moves shall be added to submissions. I’ll update the second OP about this.I think the winning submissions are fantastic. I can tell everyone was at the top of their game this slate, which makes me excited for future slates. I honestly didn’t expect Metatrog to be as well-received as it turned out—it was definitely one of my more off-the-wall ideas.
As for moves introduced in PLA, my initial thought was to just exclude all of them from everyone’s movepool, considering they don’t properly exist on Showdown’s servers or in any Pokémon game that has a competitive multiplayer. However, upon reflection, some of them appear to just be clones of existing moves—the exact same thing we do with our submissions. Thus, I believe that the following moves should be allowed and added to the spreadsheet as clones of existing moves:
The following moves are not clones of other moves and should therefore not be included in our meta, as their effects and base power could be changed if they ever make it over to a competitive game and we can’t know what they could possibly be:
- Chloroblast as a clone of Steel Beam.
- Headlong Rush as a clone of Close Combat.
- Mountain Gale as a clone of Fire Blast with a 10% flinch chance instead of burn (according to Bulbapedia, Mountain Gale is programmed with a flinch chance despite flinching not being in PLA).
- Raging Fury as a clone of Outrage.
Honestly if it's easy like that, I wouldn't mind doing them. Then I can brag to people and say 'yeah i know codeI’ll wait for a volunteer at the Pet Mod Discord server but I appreciate for doing so.
Well… There is the whole moveset coding you have to consider too. If you have experience with coding before with moves, abilities and movesets (moves and abilities would be easy due to all being clones in this Pet Mod8, no problems, though if not, you might ask for help via Pet Mod Discord server.Honestly if it's easy like that, I wouldn't mind doing them. That does make sense, seeing as it raises action speed. A handy utility tool.On the Victory Dance note (which I really just put here because it's Hisui), the move does have flags for Bulk Up in its code, and its interpretation in a lot of theorycraft for mods has been a physical Quiver Dance (+Atk/Def/Spe). I know the M4A sandbox has it in there but I forget how they coded it.
Wait, I have an idea. Ema Skye, you wanted your Spinda to have Victory Dance as a move, right? How about including Victory Dance (as a physical Quiver Dance clone) as Spinda’s custom move, then we can replace it with the actual effect if it gets changed in Gen 9? I don’t see any problem with including a custom move with the same name as a technically nonexistent move.On the Victory Dance note (which I really just put here because it's Hisui), the move does have flags for Bulk Up in its code, and its interpretation in a lot of theorycraft for mods has been a physical Quiver Dance (+Atk/Def/Spe). I would like to point out that some of these moves, while not having direct counterparts, could be close enough to be considered side-grades of other pre-existing moves, and could potentially be included imo:The following moves are not clones of other moves and should therefore not be included in our meta, as their effects and base power could be changed if they ever make it over to a competitive game and we can’t know what they could possibly be:

Problem is, we don’t do side-grades in this pet mod. We only do clones/direct variations of existing moves, largely to prevent stuff that’s broken (which stuff like Dire Claw and Esper Wing would most likely be). That’s why I proposed we include the ones that we do—because someone could just as easily submit them as custom moves, and if that submission won, they’d be coded and implemented anyway, so I suggest we be proactive and code them in now.I would like to point out that some of these moves, while not having direct counterparts, could be close enough to be considered side-grades of other pre-existing moves, and could potentially be included imo:
Dire Claw - Tri-Attack side-grade, exchanges bp for crit chance, as well as dealing with Poison & Paralysis instead (exclude sleep because that’s rather uncompetitive imo)
Esper Wing - Extreme Speed side-grade, slightly less bp and accuracy in exchange for it having an increased crit chance.
Psyshield Bash - Diamond Storm side-grade, less bp, less accuracy, but can boost both defenses instead of just defense.
Triple Arrows - Acid Spray side-grade. Drops defense by only one in exchange for extra bp and crit chance.
Victory Dance - Already discussed, Quiver Dance side-grade
Wave Crash - Flame Charge side-grade, extra power but has recoil
For this slate, submissions should try to only include the Abilities on the list. I’ll accept Mega Launcher because that’s underutilized as well (Samtendo09, if you could add that to the list I’d be grateful) and Torrent because, well, it’s a starter, but I’d reconsider Levitate for this slate. It fits with flavor, sure, but we’re trying to give a spotlight to less seen Abilities. Levitate is literally the most common Ability in Pokémon if we factor in our Pet Mod, and it’s way too good for just about anything else to be viable on anything that gets it.![]()

In order to compete with some more physical Bug types, Unovan Scythers fled to Chargestone Cave, and slowly adapted to their more voltaic environment. They traded in their physical strength for more projectile strength- their scythe hands are now replaced with blasters, and their green color palette is now a bright yellow. When they come in contact with a Thunder Stone, Scyther evolves into Blastor. Similar to Scizor, it gains a red color palette, but has more 'accentuated' glowing effects, and the claws become two cannons, ready for firing shots.

The functions of a ninja included reconnaissance, espionage, infiltration, deception, ambush, bodyguarding and their fighting skills in martial arts, including ninjutsu. A Pokemon like Sobble has many of those abilities, and was thus trained back in the day to hone these skills to their furthest point. Drizzile from Kanto have a thinner and elongated frame, as well as a darker palette. Indrizible best resembles this old Sobble evolution fanart.

New Moves (from Komala-Orre): WIP
Flavor/Design: After Komala migrated to Orre, it got itself familiar with the city, and trained to become a Pokemon who fights Shadow Pokemon. It is huger than its pre-evolution, with a darker skin color and gorilla features, although it keeps some Koala features as well.
