Would one be able to argue contrary as underutilized as well as only one starter ever made it work well?
I actually did consider adding Contrary to the list, but I decided against it because I thought it would make things get out of hand very quickly.

...Ah, screw it, go ahead. I’m not gonna get on anyone’s case for including an Ability that’s not on the list as long as it isn’t something commonly seen. There are a lot of more forgettable Abilities that I’ll look the other way if you add, like Limber and Insomnia and other stuff that nothing ever runs.

Pokémon: Kalosian Skitty
New Typing:

poison.gif

New Abilities: Aroma Veil/Effect Spore (Hidden: Neutralizing Gas)
New Stats: 50/45/45/35/35/50 (unchanged)
New Moves: Belch, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Poison Powder, Purify, Sleep Powder, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Stun Spore, Toxic Spikes
Removed Moves: None
Flavor/Design: The pink parts of its body are now purple and its tail sprays powder when it wags it. Its facial expression is slightly less happy than a regular Skitty. Kalosian Skitty gained its Poison typing due to constant exposure from the various perfumes worn around Kalos. Its tail and fur collect perfume droplets, which become spores when combined with the chemicals in Kalosian Skitty's skin.

Pokémon: Kalosian Delcatty
New Typing:

New Abilities: Aroma Veil/Effect Spore (Hidden: Neutralizing Gas)
New Stats: 70/65/65/55/55/90 (unchanged)
New Moves: Belch, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Poison Powder, Purify, Sleep Powder, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Stun Spore, Toxic Spikes
Removed Moves: None
Flavor/Design: Its purple segments are darker, its facial expression is more angry, and its tail releases a wave of green dust when it wags it. Kalosian Delcatty has been exposed to even more perfume and releases even more potent spores from its tail than Kalosian Skitty does. Kalosian Delcatty doesn't really know why it does, but it knows that it doesn't like it at all, so Kalosian Delcatty is often angry and lashes out whenever it does, thus releasing even more spores and making itself even angrier. The only way it quells its anger is by witnessing others suffer.

Pokémon: Meowsma
New Typing:

poison.gif

New Abilities: Aroma Veil/Effect Spore (Hidden: Neutralizing Gas)
New Stats: 105/80/95/60/75/115 (Total: 530)
New Moves: Alluring Purr (Poison-type clone of Pursuit), Snarl, U-Turn
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 96.3 lbs.
Flavor/Design: A large purple cat with acid green whiskers and tail tip. It evolves from Kalosian Delcatty after inflicting 449 damage on opponents via Poison (e.g. Toxic, Poison Powder, etc.). Meowsma is far less hostile than Kalosian Delcatty; whether that is due to it growing tired after its constant anger or acceptance of its exposure to perfume is constantly debated by experts. Perfume makers constantly try to find a use for the spores Meowsma creates, but nobody has ever succeeded because they apparently release a horrible odor when combined with other ingredients.
Pokémon: Alolan Ledyba
New Typing:

psychic.gif

New Abilities: Mirror Armor/Infiltrator (Hidden: Neuroforce)
New Stats: 40/20/80/40/30/55 (Swapped Defense and Sp. Def)
New Moves: Confusion, Cosmic Power, Gravity, Meteor Beam, Power Gem, Psychic, Psyshock, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Shell Smash, Stealth Rock
Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Bug Bite, Bug Buzz, Dynamic Punch, Focus Punch, Natural Gift, Struggle Bug, Sweet Scent, Tailwind
Flavor/Design: Its outer wings are glowing red and have a jagged appearance like that of a meteor, with craters where its spots would normally be. Alolan Ledyba was the first ever documented form of Ledyba. Its outer wings are the same substance as Minior's outer shell, leading experts to believe it descended into the world the same way Minior did. But because Alolan Ledyba landed in different parts of the region that contain much more sunlight and foliage, Alolan Ledyba's wings glow brightly and reflect light like a mirror while Minior's shell does not.

Pokémon: Alolan Ledian

New Abilities: Mirror Armor/Infiltrator (Hidden: Neuroforce)
New Stats: 55/35/110/55/50/85 (Swapped Defense and Sp. Def)

Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Bug Bite, Bug Buzz, Dynamic Punch, Focus Punch, Natural Gift, Struggle Bug, Sweet Scent, Tailwind
Flavor/Design: Similar changes to its body as that of Alolan Ledyba. Alolan Ledian has a strange and otherworldly presence about it that many people are either terrified of or intrigued by. Its appearance and presence have provided inspiration to many science fiction writers throughout history.

Pokémon: Lediader
New Typing:

New Abilities: Mirror Armor/Infiltrator (Hidden: Neuroforce)
New Stats: 80/50/130/95/70/105 (Total: 535)
New Moves: Body Press, Flash Cannon, Signal Beam, Thunder, Thunderbolt
Height: 6'03"
Weight: 146.7 lbs.
Flavor/Design: Its appearance is a hybrid between a ladybug and a stereotypical cartoon alien, with a similar color scheme and wings with the same textures as its pre-evolutions. It evolves from Alolan Ledian with a Cosmic Fragment. Lediader was once thought to be an Ultra Beast due to its overwhelming unearthly presence and appearance. It flies at speeds of over 200 mph and leaves behind a trail of light that makes it look like a comet when seen from a distance.
As for some Ability suggestions from me: I'd suggest Dazzling. Also, considering Dragapult already puts Clear Body to good use, I wouldn't say it's that underutilized.

Ultra Carnivine
Type:
Dark/Poison
Stats: 73/113/71/79/71/47 (454) (-1 HP, +13 Atk, -1 Def, -11 SpA, -1 SpD, +1 Spe)
Abilities: Spring Trap
Spring Trap - Gooey clone. Opponents who make contact cannot switch out (except through means such as U-Turn, Shed Shell, Emergency Exit, etc).
New Moves: Camouflage, Snap Trap, Jaw Lock, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Poison Jab, Poison Fang, Super Fang, Hyper Fang, Leech Life, Psychic Fangs, Pursuit, Clamp, Vise Grip, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Sludge Wave, Dark Pulse
Removed Moves: Vine Whip, Leaf Tornado, Energy Ball, Grass Knot, Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Giga Drain, Seed Bomb, Synthesis, Worry Seed, Grass Whistle, Leech Seed, Magical Leaf, Rage Powder, Razor Leaf, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Bullet Seed, Growth
Flavor/Design: Ultra Carnivine has a deeper green color and a rounder head than its Sinnohan counterpart, with several white dots on its head. These dots are sensitive to light and serve as a primitive method of sight, as Ultra Carnivine has no eyes. Its mouth has growths around it similar to lips, and a full set of carnivore-like teeth instead of the pseudo-teeth of regular Carnivine. Its body shape is largely similar to Carnivine’s, but the vines at the bottom of its body are spread out like roots. It uses these vines to walk around on the forest floor, as it cannot levitate like its counterpart. It lives in the dense wetland biomes of the Ultra Forest dimension, which Kartana also calls home. It burrows its roots into the ground, opens its mouth, and covers itself with leaves to camouflage itself. Then, when prey steps on its waiting mouth, it snaps its jaws shut.
Carniferous
Type:
Dark/Poison
Stats: 97/139/113/89/73/59 (570) (+24 HP, +26 Atk, +42 Def, +10 SpA, +2 SpD, +12 Spe)
Abilities: Spring Trap
New Moves: Sticky Web, Ensnare, Spiky Shield, Trick, Octolock, Ultra Carnivine’s moves
Ensnare - Dark type, physical. Magma Storm clone. Makes contact.
Height/Weight: 3.1 m, 409.6 kg (10’02”, 903.0 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Carniferous has a color scheme similar to its pre-evolution’s, but its head has become much larger and bulb-shaped, and its mouth now has several rows of teeth. Its body is now a mass of tangled vines, some of which end in structures resembling flower blossoms; these structures are actually mouths. It also has tentacle-like vines covered in hairs that secrete a sweet-smelling adhesive substance, which it uses to capture prey. It hides and ambushes larger prey in a similar fashion to its pre-evolution, but it also uses its flower-mouths and tentacles to trap smaller prey.
Competitive: You know what Carniferous hates? Switching. It can’t stand to see someone in a disadvantageous position switching to another Pokémon that can better take it on. Its blood (or whatever plants have instead of that) boils when it hears the sound of an opponent returning to their Poké Ball. But it knows it can’t have Shadow Tag, because that’s illegal, and Stakeout isn’t allowed right now because of the slate. So what does Carniferous do? It gathers up every other anti-switching tool in the book and rolls ‘em all into one neat little package. Hazards? Check. Knock Off to remove Boots? Check. Trapping Ability? Check. Magma Storm clone? Check. Jaw Lock? Check. Snap Trap? Check. Clamp? Check. Pursuit so even Ghost-types can’t get out unscathed? Check. Octolock? Check. This thing gets as close as you legally can to outright denying the opponent the ability to switch. Add in its good physical bulk and excellent defensive typing with only one weakness and you have a Pokémon that stops a lot of momentum-based teams cold. Of course it has weaknesses too (what do you take me for? I have a degree in game design, I’m not gonna design something without a weakness). It’s slow and not that bulky on the special side, so a lot of special wallbreakers can deal with it unless it’s running Assault Vest, which prevents it from setting hazards and thus is probably not going to be too popular. It’s got no form of recovery besides momentum-sapping stuff like Rest and Stockpile/Swallow that won’t see any sort of significant use, so it can be chipped down over the course of a match and its switch-in opportunities are somewhat limited. Absolutely none of Carniferous’s trapping tools work against VoltTurn shenanigans, so keep that in mind as well. Also, Earthquake isn’t a contact move, so the most common Ground attack in the meta won’t activate Spring Trap. That means your opponent’s Garchomp or Landorus-Therian or Shogoose or Excadrill or Cerbhound or Quadrotrich or whatever can EQ freely and without worry.
Yes, I made Carnivine into a Piranha Plant. No, there’s nothing you can do about it.

Actually, it’s a little more in-depth than that. Carnivine’s design is heavily based on Piranha Plants, yes, but there’s definitely influence from Deku Babas and bear traps. Carniferous has a bit more going on. The bulb-shaped head and flower-mouths are a clear reference to Audrey II’s design from the cult classic “Little Shop of Horrors”, with a little bit of Sarlacc thrown in for good measure. The tentacles are based on sundews, another carnivorous plant that lives in about the same kind of neighborhood as the Venus flytrap. The name “Carniferous”, as well as the Pokémon’s habitat in heavily forested wetlands, is a reference to the Carboniferous period of Earth’s geological history, which was characterized by vast forested wetland biomes. As for why I didn’t keep it a Grass-type? Because shut up, that’s why.

Distorted Porygon2
Type:
Normal/Ghost
Stats: 89/76/91/101/94/64 (515) (+4 HP, -4 Atk, +1 Def, -4 SpA, -1 SpD, +4 Spe)
Abilities: Air Lock, Firewall (HA: Infiltrator)
Firewall - Download clone. On switch-in, raises one of the user’s defensive stats based on the opponent’s stronger attacking stat.

New Moves: Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Night Shade, Poltergeist, Hex
Removed Moves: Agility, Magic Coat, Telekinesis
Flavor/Design: Distorted Porygon2 resembles a regular Porygon2 with inverted colors, as though it was in a photo negative. It only appears as a wireframe, with apparently no solid body to speak of. Its data was exposed to serious corruption in the Distortion World, forcing it to reboot into its “Safe Mode”, which has more protections than the original but fewer offensive capabilities.
Competitive: Distorted Porygon2 has good 89/91/94 bulk and an incredible defensive typing to start out with. Then you slap an Eviolite on there and it’s got top-tier bulk on both ends of the spectrum. THEN, as if that wasn’t enough, you add on Firewall to give it +1 against whatever you switch in on, which bumps it up to around the level of Ranseian Chansey... and that’s with just HP investment. This makes Distorted Porygon2 an incredible mixed wall and defensive pivot. Firewall also lets it scout in the case of Pokémon that can run physical or special sets. Its Ghost typing allows it to escape the clutches of trapping stallbreakers like Heatran. Unfortunately for Distorted Porygon2, its only weakness happens to have a lot of strong options—Knock Off removes its Eviolite boost, Pursuit discourages it from switching out, and Dastardly Deed steals its Recovers. It’s forced out against a lot of Dark-types, especially super-strong attackers like Crawdaunt, Hustle Badpple, Adaptability Arctoyena, and Porygon-O. Other Dark-types that can take advantage of Distorted Porygon2 include Cerbhound, whose Magic Bounce renders status-inflicting moves useless, and Mr. Crime, whose Dastardly Deed prevents Porygon2 from recovering.

Porygon-ERROR
Type:
Normal/Ghost
Stats: 69/76/77/128/76/109 (535) (from Porygon-Z: -16 HP, -4 Atk, +7 Def, -7 SpA, +1 SpD, +19 Spe)
Abilities: Corruption, Download (HA: Infiltrator)
Corruption - Effect Spore clone. Pokémon making contact with the user have a 30% chance of being burned, badly poisoned, or frozen.

New Moves: Water Gun, Sky Attack, Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, Uproar, NULL_REF_EXCEPTION, Distorted Porygon2’s moves
NULL_REF_EXCEPTION - Ghost type, special. Sludge Bomb clone. 30% chance of inflicting Curse on the target.
Removed Moves: Agility, Magic Coat, Telekinesis
Height/Weight: 3.1 m, 1590.8 kg (10’01”, 3507.2 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Porygon-ERROR vaguely resembles a Porygon-Z, but its color rapidly shifts and changes between a black-and-white “television snow” pattern, a pink-and-black “missing texture” checkerboard pattern, Porygon-Z’s normal color scheme, and the photo negative of Porygon-Z’s color scheme. Unlike Porygon-Z’s twitchy and jerky movements, Porygon-ERROR’s body does not move at all, appearing frozen in place. However, it still floats from place to place and responds to external stimuli (though not always appropriately). Parts of its body appear to “glitch out” from time to time, displaying severe chromatic aberration and compression artifacts before going back to normal (well, whatever passes for normal here). For one single frame of its animation cycle, its model is replaced with the original MissingNo. sprite from Pokémon Red and Blue. An error caused by a malware infection caused the corruption from the Distortion World to completely corrupt Porygon2’s coding, turning it into an extraordinarily buggy and incredibly dangerous abomination. It will slowly corrupt, degrade, and destroy any software or electronics in its vicinity, apparently involuntarily. It may also corrupt living things that make physical contact with it, so it’s best to stay far away. The code for many of its physical characteristics was corrupted, so Porygon-ERROR may rapidly change color, size, and weight, and occasionally also emits dangerous bursts of heat or radiation.
Competitive: Porygon-ERROR serves as a strong special wallbreaker with a good enough Speed tier to also serve as a potent revenge killer. Its excellent defensive typing with three immunities gives it plenty of opportunities to switch in and ruin the opponent’s day, especially if it gets the Download boost for its Sp. Atk and/or decides to set up a Nasty Plot on the switch-out. NULL_REF_EXCEPTION is the strongest special Ghost move that doesn’t belong to a Legendary, and it’s got a 30% chance to wipe out an extra 25% of the opponent’s HP at the end of the turn, which makes trying to switch into Porygon-ERROR with anything besides Normal-types (or Magic Guard mons) really scary. Tri Attack is another strong option, especially alongside Corruption and Thunder Wave for extra status spreading, and these are supplemented by many other strong coverage options such as Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Dark Pulse and Psychic, or even Psyshock if you don’t like Blissey very much. Porygon-ERROR is very frail, so it finds it difficult to switch in outside of its immunities, though its access to Recover can somewhat mitigate this. Dark-types in general are absolute poison for Porygon-ERROR, especially Obstagoon, which laughs maniacally at any of Porygon-ERROR’s attempts to status it and doesn’t take enough from any of its moves to be threatened unless it’s already damaged pretty heavily, and Bisharp, which can come in on either of Porygon-ERROR’s STABs at any point and threaten to OHKO back with Sucker Punch OR Pursuit depending on whether you switch or not.
If you know stuff about computers, you know that whatever that “corrupted” file was, it’s really messed up. I’m talking “worse than Gen 1” levels of messed up. We’ve got error messages from a dozen different programs and platforms, an attempt to convert a sound file into text, someone trying to wipe a computer using Unix commands on a Windows machine, Lorem Ipsum with URL percent-encoding punctuated by semicolons, overflow errors, divide-by-0 errors, even a Spamton-style malware-injected ad in the middle of the whole mess. I won’t spend time explaining all of the extremely cursed error messages, and here’s why: That first error means that the computer contains a Dolby TrueHD audio file converted from a Java file, which was converted from an executable file, which was at one point a copy of a copy of a list of Pokémon names, and for some reason the computer is attempting to load its operating system off of that file, and that isn’t even half of the explanation for how messed up that single error message is. Because I at least want to pretend that I value your time, I’m not going to go in-depth, so whenever you see some computer-related thing up there you don’t understand, just assume it’s something that should never show up anywhere near a file describing a Pokémon. There are also a whole bunch of MissingNo. references—in the “bugged” section, the base stats and typing are the same as MissingNo.’s, while Porygon-ERROR’s actual height and weight are identical to MissingNo.’s as well. Porygon-ERROR also learning Water Gun and Sky Attack is a reference to the original three moves in MissingNo.’s movepool (yes, three; it learns Water Gun twice). Basically, what’s happening here, lore-wise, is that some of the code of what used to be Porygon-Z is just Not There, or so profoundly changed it might as well not exist, and that’s caused a cascading series of errors and problems as other parts of the code are trying to reference things that are no longer things. It’s now messed up to the point where even information about it will, in-universe, mess up any electronic medium it’s stored on. Good luck registering this thing in your Pokédex, you’re gonna need a pencil and paper to do it in a way that matters. I’m sure the base stat numbers being all weird meant something when I first started designing this, but I forgot what it was. Also, Corruption has a freeze chance, yes, but it’s not broken—the 30% chance is split evenly between the three status conditions, so it effectively only has a 10% freeze chance, and considering that Porygon-ERROR isn’t bulky but has to eat a hit before that happens, it’s not going to be oppressive in the slightest.
:ss/gulpin:
Kalosian Gulpin
Type:
Poison/Fairy
Stats: 90/38/53/38/53/30 (302) (+20 HP, -5 Atk, -5 Def, -10 Spe)
Abilities: Cheek Pouch, Thick Fat (HA: Corrosion)
New Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Recycle, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Flash
Removed Moves: Fire Punch, Giga Drain, Seed Bomb, Bullet Seed, Mimic, Thunder Punch, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Pain Split, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch
Flavor/Design: Kalosian Gulpin closely resembles normal Gulpin, but with a bright pink coloration instead of green. The feather on top of its head is replaced with an entire plume of purple feathers, and the rhombus patterns on its body are white instead of black. Additionally, it has yellow whiskers above its mouth resembling a Hoennian Swalot’s. Its palate is much more discerning than its Hoennian counterpart’s, and it will refuse any food it deems to not be of high enough quality. When it is digesting something, any waste is expelled as light, causing it to glow when it’s full.
Kalosian Swalot
Type:
Poison/Fairy
Stats: 130/58/88/58/88/45 (467) (+30 HP, -15 Atk, +5 Def, -15 SpA, +5 SpD, -10 Spe)
Abilities: Cheek Pouch, Thick Fat (HA: Corrosion)
New Moves: Moonblast, Sweet Scent, Kalosian Gulpin’s moves
Removed Moves: Fire Punch, Giga Drain, Seed Bomb, Bullet Seed, Mimic, Thunder Punch, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Pain Split, Dynamic Punch, Power-Up Punch, Earthquake
Flavor/Design: A brighter magenta color than its pre-evolution, with much longer whiskers than its Hoennian counterpart. The purple feathers on its head remain, in a configuration reminiscent of a chef’s toque, and the black rhombus patterns on Hoennian Swalot’s body are replaced with a white pattern resembling an apron. It appears to have a near-human or possibly above-human level of intelligence, but it seems to only use this intelligence to prepare food. In the wild, it has been observed creating and utilizing fire for cooking, as well as making tools such as knives, bowls, and in one case, a primitive form of rotisserie. It is incredibly skilled at discerning the quality of Berries and other food it finds in the wild, and will reject all but the highest-quality foods. They’re often employed by chefs in upscale restaurants as taste testers, and occasionally even as sous chefs due to their skill in food preparation.
Competitive: Kalosian Swalot is useful on stall teams due to its excellent 130/88/88 bulk bolstered by Eviolite as well as its good defensive typing, especially when running Thick Fat for an extra two resistances. It can also make good use of Corrosion to inflict Toxic on various otherwise immune threats. However, like every unevolved Pokémon with a competitive niche, it lives and dies on the utility of Eviolite. Its reliance on the item makes it impossible to utilize Cheek Pouch at all, negating the only reliable recovery method of the entire evolutionary line, and its inability to hold Heavy-Duty Boots makes it hard to switch in more than a couple times thanks to its Steel Spikes weakness.
Gourmaw
Type:
Poison/Fairy
Stats: 160/108/98/108/98/5 (577) (+30 HP, +50 Atk, +10 Def, +50 SpA, +10 SpD, -40 Spe)
Abilities: Cheek Pouch, Shield Dust (HA: Liquid Ooze)
New Moves: Magic Powder, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Powder, Sleep Powder, Flame Powder, Kalosian Swalot’s moves
Flame Powder - Fire type, Status. Stun Spore clone. Burns the target. Powder move.
Height/Weight: 1.9 m, 180.0 kg (6’03”, 396.8 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Gourmaw is a deep burgundy color and somewhat resembles its pre-evolution in shape, but it is much wider and more blobby, almost resembling a Muk in general shape, though its body is composed largely of fat and not sludge. The feathers on its head still resemble a chef’s toque, though taller than its pre-evolution’s, and the apron pattern around its body is replaced with one resembling a white double-breasted jacket with black buttons. Its face is similar to Kalosian Swalot’s, but its whiskers are curled upwards, resembling a moustache, and its eyes are slanted and usually closed. Its mouth, when open, takes up the majority of its body. Its body constantly secretes a glittery, powdery substance whose flavor and texture Gourmaw can control. This substance is non-toxic and contains many nutrients, so it’s often used as a spice or seasoning, including by Gourmaw itself. Gourmaw can tell the quality of a dish merely by looking at it. This property makes it a favorite of chefs and critics alike. Several of the top restaurants in Kalos employ Gourmaw as the chef de cuisine due to its encyclopedic knowledge of food preparation and quality as well as kitchen management.
Competitive: Gourmaw is an utter beast of a mixed wall, with 160/98/98 bulk and a Toxic immunity, plus some decent mixed attacking stats so it isn’t entirely passive like its pre-evolution. Liquid Ooze is useful against Leech Seed users who want a piece of that base 160 HP but will soon find that they’re losing massive amounts of their own health, as well as for OHKOing most Strength Sap users. Alternatively, Shield Dust makes Gourmaw immune to additional move effects, allowing it to avoid a lot of stallbreaking techniques: it can’t be trapped by Metatrog’s Flaming Gaze (which technically doesn’t count as a secondary effect but Spirit Shackle and the like are also affected by Shield Dust so whatever I guess), it can’t be haxed by any nonsense that Jirachi or Togekiss try to pull, et cetera. Cheek Pouch is a good option for Berry Recycle sets, which is the only form of recovery Gourmaw can achieve. As for its moves, Gourmaw doesn’t get a lot of offensive coverage outside of its STABs, but it can make a lot of use out of its powder moves. Sleep Powder, Stun Spore and Flame Powder are inaccurate but still decent options for spreading status. Powder is a funny niche option against some Fire-type attackers, especially setup-based ones with no non-Fire-type answer to a Poison/Fairy typing, like Volcarona and... well, okay, pretty much just Volcarona, but it’s hilarious when it works. Magic Powder is good for turning Steel-types and Poison-types into something you can Toxic and getting rid of STAB boosts from some otherwise-threatening wallbreakers. None of these things work on Grass-types, of course, but Ice Beam certainly does. Unfortunately, certain Gourmaw sets will lose to different things depending on the Ability. Sets that lack Shield Dust straight-up lose to Jirachi, which can’t be touched by just about anything Gourmaw can do and just flinch-spams back with super-effective Iron Heads, as well as many stat-dropping moves such as Fire Lash and Thunderclap wherever they show up. On the other hand, Cheek Pouch sets are vulnerable to Steel Spikes due to their lack of Heavy-Duty Boots and will struggle to come in repeatedly. Ground moves are also worrisome for it, even if it carries Ice Beam. Steel-types are problematic for Gourmaw, especially Excadrill—Mold Breaker ignores Shield Dust and Wonder Skin, none of Gourmaw’s STABs or coverage besides Hidden Power can scratch it, and it can fire off heavily damaging Earthquakes and Iron Heads. Also, non-Cheek Pouch sets lack reliable recovery, so even without having to face Ground- or Steel-types it’ll get worn down over the course of a match, especially non-Boots sets that don’t have Whisfloor support, since it’s weak to Steel Spikes. Lastly, Gourmaw is glacially slow, which confers some benefits such as being amazing on Trick Room teams and rendering Gyro Ball effectively powerless, but also leaves it open to pretty much any offensive Pokémon, since it doesn’t really have many tools to make use of its low Speed.
I’ve been trying to design an evolution for Swalot for ages but never had a good idea for it until I recently rewatched “Ratatouille” and had the frankly brilliant idea to make it a chef. It went through a lot of iterations before I had the “chef” idea, but I wanted the base stats and Abilities to generally stay the same, so I had to give it justification for having stuff like Shield Dust and I think I finally managed to do it in a way that doesn’t sound like the world’s flimsiest excuse.
:ss/glameow:
Kalosian Glameow
Type:
Normal/Ghost
Stats: 49/55/37/42/42/85 (310) (swapped Def and SpD)
Abilities: Limber, Infiltrator (HA: Insomnia)
New Moves: Lick, Shadow Sneak, Tail Slap, Will-o’-Wisp
Removed Moves: Water Pulse, Feint Attack, Sunny Day, Rain Dance
Flavor/Design: Kalosian Glameow is white with black patches, similar to a “magpie” coloration. It is slightly heftier than its Sinnohan counterpart, with shorter, rounder ears and a thicker tail. Instead of fluffy white fur at the end of its tail, Kalosian Glameow has a white wisp-like flame similar to those at the end of Jibanyan’s tails. It uses the flame on its tail to light its way at night and to lure prey. Legends of “ghost lights” in the Kalos region are more often than not just sightings of this Pokémon.
Kalosian Purugly
Type:
Normal/Ghost
Stats: 71/82/59/64/64/112 (452) (swapped Def and SpD)
Abilities: Thick Fat, Infiltrator (HA: Cat Nap)
Cat Nap - Clone of Early Bird.

New Moves: Phantom Force, Swords Dance, Curse, Slumbering Strike, Kalosian Glameow’s moves
Slumbering Strike - Normal-type, physical. Facade clone. Doubles in power when the user is asleep.
Removed Moves: Roar, Water Pulse, Sunny Day, Rain Dance
Flavor/Design: Kalosian Purugly has the same magpie coloration as its pre-evolution. Its tail is white with black stripes with a flame on the end similar to that of its pre-evolution. Unlike its Sinnohan counterpart, Kalosian Purugly does not wrap its tail around its waist, instead holding it high up in the air. Kalosian Purugly’s ears have white flames at the end of them similar to the flame on its tail. It sleeps whenever it wants, with no relation to the time of day or night, but it always wakes up quickly. It likes to crawl inside boxes and other small spaces to sleep. The larger the flame on a Kalosian Purugly’s tail, the more respect it will earn from its peers.
Purradox
Type:
Normal/Ghost
Stats: 101/102/69/74/94/115 (555) (+30 HP, +20 Atk, +10 Def, +10 SpA, +30 SpD, +3 Spe)
Abilities: Comatose
New Moves: Poltergeist, Double-Edge, Yawn, Destiny Bond, Perish Song, Kalosian Purugly’s moves
Height/Weight: 2.0 m, 43.8 kg (6’07”, 96.6 lbs)
Flavor/Design: Purradox’s main body looks exactly like Kalosian Purugly’s, but it is sitting in a cardboard box fast asleep. Its tail is held up high, and a ghostly version of Purugly is emanating from the tail, with the tail of the ghost and real versions being connected. Purradox has baffled scientists, seemingly being both alive and dead at the same time. Its physical body is alive but in a vegetative state, so its spirit is still bound to the body. However, since it is straddling the fine line between life and death, its spirit has almost entirely left its body. It uses the manifestation of its spirit to protect its physical body from harm. From time to time, it will briefly regain control over its physical body and launch a devastating attack.
Competitive: With a unique and amazing defensive typing that has only one weakness, good special bulk, high Speed, strong STAB and immunity to status, Purradox is a great choice for many team archetypes. Comatose gives it a consistent 140-power Slumbering Strike, which is excellent in combination with Poltergeist, especially on Choice Band or Swords Dance sets. With Comatose Sleep Talk, you can even run Swords Dance on a Choice Band set if you’re an absolute madman. It doesn’t get much in the way of strong physical coverage outside of its STAB—its best options are U-Turn, Sucker Punch, Knock Off, Play Rough, and possibly Stomping Tantrum. Its physical bulk is also lackluster. Strong physical Dark-types, especially physically defensive Normal resists like Tyranitar and Bisharp, can easily dispatch offensive variants of Purradox. Purradox, however, isn’t just limited to offensive sets. Its high Speed and access to U-Turn, status moves and Taunt makes it a good utility Pokémon, and Taunt combines with its immunity to status and trapping to make it a phenomenal stallbreaker. However, it is vulnerable itself to faster Taunt users. Purradox can also be revenge-killed fairly easily by strong hits from faster Pokémon or Scarf users. Lastly, Purradox lacks any form of recovery, including Rest, so it can be worn down throughout the match and has trouble switching in repeatedly against hazards.
Once upon a time, when I first made this submission, I agonized over what to do for a Normal/Ghost type, since they’re basically diametrically opposed to each other. I finally settled on a reference to one of the most famous misinterpretations of quantum mechanics—Schrödinger’s Cat. The first two parts of the evolutionary line are based on will-o’-the-wisps, while Purradox itself is a (very inaccurate) representation of the Schrödinger’s Cat “paradox”, which purports to show the problems with the (somewhat inaccurate) Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics. I stripped away as much as possible of the physics talk because that adds nothing to design or flavor and was left with the idea of a cat in a box that is simultaneously both alive and dead. The closest state to both of those that I could think of was someone in a coma, so I decided to give it Comatose and work backwards to give its pre-evolutions sleep-related Abilities as well. Slumbering Strike is born of my annoyance at Facade not being boosted by sleep, and Cat Nap is an idea for an Early Bird clone that I’ve had for a while. Some people might notice that Purradox weighs exactly the same as Purugly and is exactly twice as tall. This is intentional—it gains no weight, since all that’s added is a cardboard box and a ghost (neither of which add anything significant in terms of weight), and the ghost is the same size as the physical body, doubling its total length/height/whatever metric you use to measure a Pokémon’s size.

I’ll also admit that this line was partially inspired by Stray Cat, considering that I watched Diamond Is Unbreakable only a couple days before creating this.
:ss/sliggoo:
Hoennian Sliggoo
Type:
Dragon/Water
Stats: 68/55/73/113/93/50 (452) (Swapped SpA and SpD, -20 Atk, +20 Def, +10 SpD, -10 Spe)
Abilities: Clear Body, Hydration (HA: Gooey)
New Moves: Scald, Surf, Hydro Pump, Dive, Waterfall, Whirlpool, Withdraw
Removed Moves: None
Flavor/Design: Hoennian Sliggoo has a pale blue, translucent coloration with a darker blue underbelly. The shell on its back is a full-sized and solid one resembling the shell of a garden snail. It’s believed that this form of Sliggoo developed its shell thanks to its habitat at the bottom of Hoenn’s oceans. Due to its slow nature, it is a scavenger, subsisting on shells, bones, and other calcium-rich waste products from dead organisms that sink to the seafloor. It uses the caustic slime it produces to digest its food, extracting the calcium to build and strengthen its shell. When threatened, it retreats into its shell until the threat has passed. Very few predators can penetrate its extremely tough shell. Its main predators are Sharpedo, which can accelerate to high enough speeds to break through the shell, and Clawitzer, whose concentrated blasts of water can punch holes through it.
Escargoo
Type:
Water/Dragon
Stats: 90/80/100/140/130/60 (600) (from Goodra: swapped SpA and SpD, swapped Atk and Def, +10 Atk, -10 SpA, +20 SpD, -20 Spe)
Abilities: White Smoke, Steam Engine (HA: Cloud Nine)
New Moves: Mist, Haze, Clear Smog, Defog, Strange Steam, Boil, Goodra’s moves except Mega Kick, Hoennian Sliggoo’s moves
Boil - Fire type, special. Freeze-Dry clone. Super effective on Water-types. 10% chance to burn.
Height/Weight: 2.2 m, 334.1 kg (7’03”, 736.6 lbs)
Flavor/Design: The upper half of Escargoo’s body resembles Goodra’s, including the arms, but the lower half is replaced with a snail-like “foot” and shell. The shell resembles a large, spiraling tower, somewhat similar in shape to the Shellder shells that Slowbro and Slowking wear, but encrusted with barnacles and coral. Its body has a blue and white coloration, with its shell being the same purplish color that Goodra’s normal body is. It stores large amounts of water in its shell. It can heat this water to whatever temperature it desires. When the water in its shell reaches the boiling point, it expels it through openings at the top of its shell. It can use this to spray a jet of steam behind it to propel it at high speeds, or as a weapon to dispatch of its prey and any potential predators. It can also expel jets of non-heated water from these openings at high enough pressure to break rocks. Lastly, it can release this water as a mist, which it uses to shroud itself from view when it surfaces above the ocean’s waves. Many sightings of sea serpents on foggy nights can be attributed to Escargoo.
Competitive: Escargoo is honestly a pretty scary Pokémon to face. With its enormous base 140 Sp. Atk and vast offensive movepool, it can serve as an excellent special wallbreaker. Its great bulk, especially on the special side, and fantastic defensive typing also allow it to act as a strong special tank or even a defensive utility Pokémon, with Haze, Clear Smog or Dragon Tail to stop opposing setup and Defog to clear hazards. Boil is coverage that’s particularly hard to switch into, especially for Reluvish and Empoleon. Escargoo can be used as an anti-weather Pokémon thanks to its access to Cloud Nine and its typing and coverage allowing it to defensively check sun and rain teams and offensively check sand and hail teams. Of course, the main Ability most people will run on this is Steam Engine. Escargoo can switch into ANY Fire-type or Water-type attack, Fishious Rend or Specs Kyogre be damned, and instantly begin running roughshod over the opponent’s team. With 220 EVs and a neutral Nature in Speed, a +6 Escargoo outspeeds literally everything you’ll reasonably see in the entire meta except for Scarf Slush Rush Arctochomp, and it’s bulkier than Palkia with almost the same level of power to match. If an Escargoo switches in on one of your Water or Fire moves and you don’t have something with enough special bulk to outlive it, your only options are to click the forfeit button or pray for a miss. Of course, there are plenty of things that DO have that kind of special bulk, which is where Escargoo falters. Unlike Palkia, Escargoo’s Attack is bad enough that it can’t reasonably run physical moves to break through special walls, so its only options against them are Toxic and Dragon Tail, and it really doesn’t like running those on Steam Engine sets. Both forms of Chansey and their evolutions laugh at even Toxic, Hatterene laughs at Toxic AND Dragon Tail, Assault Vest Hp’lamaroth always lives a Draco Meteor and OHKOs back with Outrage, Longcha tanks pretty much anything Escargoo can throw at it, Eviolite Dragon Scales Kantonian Frosmoth eats even post-Stealth-Rock Specs Draco Meteor like it’s part of a complete and balanced breakfast and laughs it off with a Roost, Hallucybin tanks it and Spores it, High Ground Mr. Climb is immune to both of its STABs and can reasonably tank most of its coverage, and Palmodon (especially Thick Fat variants) just sits there as Escargoo flails helplessly. Grimmdigo and Mr. Crime can also use Prankster Parting Shot to make Escargoo a lot less threatening. When Escargoo is NOT at +6 Speed, even more options open up against it. Strong wallbreakers with super-effective moves can usually hit before Escargoo can get a word in, and Freeze-Dry from a Crowceror is enough to always OHKO without full HP investment. Lastly, even at +6 with full Speed investment, Scarf Slush Rush Arctochomp still outspeeds and OHKOs with Freeze-Dry.
Let’s be honest, it should have been a snail-dragon called Escargoo to begin with. From a flavor standpoint, the design was pretty obvious, but from a competitive standpoint, this was largely a design born from my desire to make something that could actually use Steam Engine properly, so I made something that double-resists both Water and Fire and is strong enough to be a major threat with +6 Speed, unlike Coalossal, which is doubly weak to Water, has utterly pathetic attacking stats, doesn’t even outspeed unboosted base-130s at +6 without investment, and usually runs Flame Body anyway. Basically, this was a CAP-style process where I came up with the competitive concept first and had to work backwards to a point where the execution looked good.
:ss/onix:
Orrean Onix
Type:
Ice/Fairy
Stats: 70/30/160/45/45/35 (385) (swapped HP and Spe, swapped Atk and SpA)
Abilities: Clear Body, Glassy Body (HA: Mirror Armor)
Glassy Body - Thick Fat clone. The Pokémon takes 0.5x damage from Water and Electric moves.

New Moves: Aurora Beam, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Reflect, Light Screen, Magic Coat, Mirror Coat, Mirror Shot, Barrier, Calm Mind, Surf, Waterfall, Refine
Refine - Rock, status. Recover clone.
Removed Moves: Dragon Breath, Sand Tomb, Sandstorm, Stone Edge, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Dance, Dragon Pulse, High Horsepower, Sunny Day, Scorching Sands, Dragon Tail, Head Smash, Twister
Flavor/Design: From a visual standpoint, it’s literally just the Crystal Onix from that one episode of the anime. Orrean Onix thrives in warm climates despite being an Ice-type. It usually lives in caves or deep underground, so it’s almost never encountered by humans. It is capable of swimming and can cross entire oceans without needing to rest, so it’s established populations on many islands far from its home region. Because it’s elusive and rarely seen, it often passes into local legend in these places.
Competitive: I mean, the typing’s horrible and so are most of the stats, but 70/160 bulk with Eviolite has to count for something, right? I’m sure there’s a use for it somewhere.
Crystallix
Type:
Steel/Fairy
Stats: 85/45/200/85/65/30 (510) (from Steelix: swapped Atk and SpA, +10 HP, -10 Atk)
Abilities: Amplifier, Glassy Body (HA: Refraction)
Amplifier - Mega Launcher clone. 1.5x power to beam moves used by this Pokémon.
Refraction - Bulletproof clone. This Pokémon is immune to beam moves.

Ice Beam, Psybeam, Bubble Beam, Aurora Beam, Hyper Beam, Solar Beam, Signal Beam, Power Gem, Flash Cannon, Charge Beam, Roar of Time, Simple Beam, Oblivion Wing, Light of Ruin, Core Enforcer, Fleur Cannon, Prismatic Laser, Moongeist Beam, Photon Geyser, Dynamax Cannon, Eternabeam, Steel Beam, Expanding Force, Meteor Beam, Rising Voltage, Dragon Energy, Freezing Glare, Chloroblast, Bullet Hell, Titan Beam, Flaming Gaze, Pitch-Black Beam
Note: Due to their Ability-ignoring effects, Moongeist Beam and Photon Geyser will still affect Pokémon with Refraction; however, they will still be boosted by Amplifier. On the other hand, Simple Beam does not gain a power boost from Amplifier due to being a status move, but Refraction still grants immunity to it.
New Moves: Light Beam, Light Blast, Crystal Beam, Steelix’s moves (except those removed from Orrean Onix), Orrean Onix’s moves
Light Beam - Electric, special. Scald clone. 30% chance to lower target’s Accuracy. Beam move.
Light Blast - Steel, special. Pyro Ball clone. 10% chance to lower target’s Accuracy. Beam move.
Crystal Beam - Fairy, special. Diamond Storm clone. 50% chance to raise user’s Sp. Def by 2. Beam move.

Height/Weight: 9.2 m, 300.0 kg (30’02”, 661.4 lbs)
Flavor/Design: It resembles a Steelix in size and shape, but it’s made entirely of iridescent crystals, with an appearance similar to the crystals on Mega Steelix. Instead of flat teeth like its counterpart, Crystallix sports a mouth full of jagged crystals that serve as fangs. It can control the light entering and leaving its body at will by shifting around the prismatic crystals that make up its muscles. It uses this to amplify what little light it can find in the dark caves that serve as its home, so it can light its way. It can also use this defensively, emitting a bright flash of light to temporarily blind predators, and offensively, concentrating the light into a beam that can cut through metal or burn its prey alive.
Competitive: Crystallix serves as an incredibly physically bulky defensive pivot that can switch into just about anything thanks to having the best defensive typing in the game. Its attacking stats are pretty lackluster, but Amplifier-boosted Light Blast and Crystal Beam still do a pretty good amount of damage and have promising secondary effects to boot. Alternatively, you could go with a more defensive/utility set with Glassy Body for an extra two resistances, giving Crystallix a total of thirteen resistances or immunities, with reliable recovery and a STAB move that has a chance of boosting Special Defense. Throw in Toxic and Body Press and you’ve got yourself a strong physical wall that can turn itself into a strong mixed one. Alternatively, you can use Calm Mind to patch up its Sp. Def and give it the killing power it needs. Refraction is a niche pick, but it allows Crystallix to solidly check Metatrog sets whose only Fire move is Flaming Gaze, many Electric Terrain and Psychic Terrain abusers, and Magearna. It can also set up Stealth Rock, which is nice. Despite its versatility, Crystallix suffers from its low attacking stats and lack of passive damage options, with Body Press and Specs Amplifier sets being the only truly threatening options for it. Its special bulk also leaves much to be desired, making it hard to switch in against even resisted special hits. Lastly, its low Speed means it’ll nearly always have to take at least one hit before doing something, which isn’t that great when you don’t have something like a pivot move to make absorbing that hit worthwhile.
I am genuinely shocked that no one has done this yet, including in the original Regional Variants thread. “I can’t be the first one to try to make Crystal Onix in one of the variant threads,” I said to myself, out loud, which attracted curious stares from everyone else in the courtroom, not least of all my defense attorney. And yet, here we are, so let me break it down for those of you who don’t know. Back in the ancient days of the year 2000, when dinosaurs roamed the earth in droves and primitive proto-humans, barely out of the trees, huddled around makeshift fires in caves passing their Game Boy Colors back and forth, there was an episode of the anime during the Orange Islands arc featuring a crystal Onix, which was resistant to Water-type attacks and weak to Fire ones. I decided to recreate this as a regional form because, as everyone knows, I’ll leap at any chance I can get to be lazy and derivative. So I decided to make Crystal Onix an Ice-type, being weak to Fire as it is, and slapped on the Fairy typing because it seemed fitting thematically. Then I gave it a Water resistance through an Ability, and because glass and crystals are very poor conductors of electricity, I gave it an Electric resistance to boot. And that’s... well, pretty much the whole design process for this one. It’s fairly easy to design something when someone else does half the work.

Pokémon: Hisuian Dunsparce
New Typing: Ground
New Abilities: Same except for run away changed to Infiltrator
New Stats: 100/70/70/65/65/45 Bst:415 (no change)
New Moves: None
Removed Moves: None
Flavor/Design: Based off of dunsparce pokedex entries, They burrow into ground very fast at the presence of someone and create elaborate tunnels and also could fly during ancient times. Its also the reason why I gave it infiltrator. I decided to keep its movepool the same because the array of moves it has is already good enough to make it a viable pokemon.
Pokémon: Golsparce
New Typing: Ground/Flying
New Abilities: Same as pre-evo
New Stats:130/100/100/95/95/75 Bst: 595 (Note: let me know if the stats are too high, I will gladly change them)
New Moves: Acrobatics, Tailwind
Removed Moves: None
Flavor/Design: Evolution for dunsparce. Has larger wings, same body but more of a golden color. Also the wings have a golden and blue(the same color of its underbelly) outlines on them. It will have the same height but its weight will increase to 33.3 Kg. The evolution is meant to represent dunsparce in ancient times.
Other regionals: Edit:will stick with one submission this time around.
Feedback is appreciated.

I just checked the spreadsheet and it looks like Metatrog’s Ability was described incorrectly. Eldritch has a 30% chance of inflicting the opponent with Curse, not Disable. Cursed Body is the one that inflicts Disable, which is honestly pretty confusing if you ask me. Why did the localization team call it that?

Corrected that and precise that it’s the Ghost-type Curse, too. Sorry for getting the description wrong!

Seedot design forgoes its acorn design, now instead resembling the seeds of a willow tree, which contain a good deal of fluff. Within the Galar region, these Seedot would be obtainable only within the early parts of the Slumbering Weald.

It’s eyes would also have a bit more of a pale, ghastly expression to them. Can be found deeper into the Slumbering Weald as well as the Glimwood Tangle. Upon a Seedot evolving this mon learns Perish Song, as a reference to how base Nuzleaf’s Pokédex entries always mentions it filling people with dread using its songs.
Sword Dex: “It has a bark-like skin that contains several medicinal properties. Forest dwelling Pokémon find their ailments cured through a Nuzleaf’s support.”

Removed Moves: Nuzleaf’s + Knock Off, Throat Chop, Brutal Swing, Air Slash, Hurricane, Tailwind, Aerial Ace, Bounce, Heat Wave
Flavor/Design: Wyldeward’s head hair is replaced with locks resembling a Weeping Willow’s leaves & flowers, and a similar change occurs to the leaf-hands on Shiftry’s leaf-hands. It has a shaman-like appearance, with its expression fitting more ghoulish appearance. Competitively this Pokémon adopts the role of a Defensive Pivot, aimed at abusing Cotton Down and Willow’s Wail to control the flow of the battle using stat drops. This playstyle allows Wyldeward to create some deadly openings for allies to monopolize on.
Sword Dex: “A Pokémon that was renowned as the caretaker of the forest. It will preemptively strike anyone who might bring harm to the forest.”
Shield Dex: “It lives quietly in the deep forest. It is said to be able to release cursed wails, that can break the spirit of anyone foolish enough to approach.”

Pokémon: Seedot-Galar
New Typing:
Grass.png

New Abilities: Cotton Down / Early Bird / Symbiosis [HA]
New Stats: 40 / 30 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 30 [220 BST]
New Moves: Cotton Spore, Rain Dance, Acrobatics, Mud Slap
Removed Moves: Harden, Sunny Day, Dig, Rollout
Flavor/Design: The line draws inspiration from the Weeping Willow. While the tree did not originate in England, the tree was able to become swiftly naturalized into England’s ecosystem upon its introduction. Seedot design forgoes its acorn design, now instead resembling the seeds of a willow tree, which contain a good deal of fluff. Within the Galar region, these Seedot would be obtainable only within the early parts of the Slumbering Weald.
Sword Dex: “Its head is fit with a cotton-like fluff. Foraging Pokémon rather avoid it, less they wish to find themselves covered this fluff.”
Shield Dex: “It latches onto Galar’s grand willow trees. Strong winds often carry it a great distance.”

New Abilities: Cotton Down / Early Bird / Symbiosis [HA]

New Moves: Seedot’s + Perish Song, Confuse Ray, Curse, Night Shade, Ominous Wind, Shadow Sneak, Aura Sphere, Power Whip, Vine Whip, Fairy Wind, Mud Shot, Mud Bomb
Removed Moves: Seedot’s + Dark Pulse, Lash Out, Assurance, Snarl, Thief, Torment, Brick Break, Leaf Blade, Razor Leaf, Air Cutter, Rock Tomb, Rock Slide
Flavor/Design: The leaf on its head is replaced with some draping willow leaves & flowers, which would slightly obscure the face.
Shield Dex: “It lives under the lofty branches of a willow tree. The sound of Nuzleaf's tune leaves listeners in grave danger.”

I really like this submission—I think the use of Cotton Down as Speed control is very much in the spirit of the slate and Willow’s Wail is an awesome move for a slow pivot to put pressure on opponents—but the final evolution should be named something different than Shiftry-Galar. This is the Regional Evolutions thread, after all.

Perhaps some sort of banshee-related name? I think it’d be very fitting.

Overall, this slate looks really promising so far. We’ve got a lot of super-creative submissions that will introduce new, interesting, and unexplored roles within the meta, which was exactly what we were aiming for! I’m really excited to see where we’ll go from here!

Honestly, we should just merge this thread with the previous Regional Variants thread. I really don't see why they have to be separate.
I mean, that thread’s been dead for over a year despite the creator being active and engaged in other projects. Also, I’m worried it might get too complex if we bring all of those existing variants over here.

Honestly, we should just merge this thread with the previous Regional Variants thread. I really don't see why they have to be separate.
And the main reason why Regional Evolutions was a separate thread to begin with is because the current leader of Regional Variants didn’t wanted the regional evolutions as concept to steal the thunder of standard regional variants.

Merging the two together is not desirable because, in addition to what @alephagalactus said, can cause problematic effects such as even bigger coding time consumption and creating similar problems with the first era of Fusion Evolutions and other flavor-based Pet Mods.

In the meantime, 24 hours warning! Be sure to finish your submissions by then.

Blegh. I had another idea, but I still don't like it, so I'll only submit one thing for now. I'd try to give myself slightly more time to think it, but given my Internet has been exploding all week off and on, I'll not chance it. The dealing this all week on top of other things has also frankly just tired me out even more than usual, so I doubt I have the brainpower right now anyway.

Pokémon: Luvdisc-Unova
New Typing:
Water.png

Poison.png

New Abilities: Water Absorb / Hydration (hidden ability)
{Water Absorb replaces regular Luvdisc's Swift Swim}
New Stats: 050 HP / 030 Atk / 060 Def / 040 SpA / 070 SpD / 080 Spe = 330 BST
{+07 HP, +05 Def, +05 SpD, -17 Spe compared to Luvdisc-Hoenn}
New Moves: Acid, Acid Spray, Dark Pulse, Flip Turn, Poison Gas, Recover, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Venoshock, and Venom Drench
Removed Moves: [none]
New Height: 2'00" | 0.6 m {same as regular Luvdisc}
New Weight: 19.2 lbs | 8.7 kg {same as regular Luvdisc}
New Phone, Who's This?: (Do People Actually Do This?)

Flavor/Design: Visually I guess it's basically similar to Luvdisc except duller in color--closer to purple--and not nearly as peppy and upbeat. In fact, you could say it's downright tired looking because....

Pokémon Black: "Luvdisc native to the Unova region tend to be tired due to absorbing the pollution in the water to keep it away from the coral reefs and are thus skittish to people."
Pokémon White: "When immensely stressed out, Unovan Luvdisc starts to sweat a mild poison with a sickly sweet smell that is nauseating to most Pokémon as well as most people."
Pokémon Black 2: "Despite the stress that Unovan Luvdiscs are usually under, most people still see them as signs of good luck and fortune in love, especially due to the difficulty in sighting them."
Pokémon White 2: "There is research being done on the mild poison that Unovan Luvdisc emits to see if it may have some healing properties for coral or at least can be distilled into a bearable perfume to help the lovelorn."

So, yeah, I wanted to explore the some of the "dark side" of love as well as continue Gen 8's surprising climate change commentary with Corsola. In fact, I was initially going to make this Water/Dark and put it in Galar, but I figured Water/Poison made more sense for both worse aspects of love and (futile) water filtration in addition to being better competitively due to immunity to Poison status and fewer weaknesses. Similarly, apparently the Galarian Corsola got Ghosted in "ancient times", so any Luvdisc around there would either be long gone or radically different from even this.

Otherwise, this is mostly just a stepping point to get to....

{evolves upon knowing Dark Pulse when leveling up}

Pokémon: Touffluv
New Typing:

Poison.png

New Abilities: Water Absorb / Neutralizing Gas (hidden ability)
New Stats: 100 HP / 060 Atk / 080 Def / 090 SpA / 080 SpD / 100 Spe = 510 BST
{+50 HP, +30 Atk, +20 Def, +50 SpA, +10 SpD, +20 Spe = +180 BST from evolution}
New Moves: Corrosive Gas, Gastro Acid, Knock Off, Power Gem, Torment, and Toxic Spikes
Removed Moves: [none]
New Height: 4.00" | 1.2 m
New Weight: 70.0 lbs. | 31.7 kg

Flavor/Design: Touffluv, The Alomomola That Hates™...other Alomomola, though since Touffluv is actually still capable of loving itself (unlike 90% of fictional characters in a poorly written romance), it doesn't stoop to Alomomola's level of being thoroughly obnoxious and reliant on Regenerator with obnoxiously huge Wishes to have a niche. Touffluv looks superficially similar to Alomomola from a distance in that it's a somewhat big(ger), somewhat pink, vaguely heart-shaped fish, but that's where the similarities end. Touffluv is still closer to purple, is covered in small red-barnacles that can "leak" (read: pour out) a blue poisonous mist that is the aforementioned neutralizing gas in its case, and most importantly is constantly shooting out a pissed off look with its eyes and body language for various reasons that include....

Pokémon Black: "The stress of maintaining the coral reefs that are its home appear to be what most commonly triggers its evolution, and so it is violently protective of them."
Pokémon White: "It has weaponize its previously mild poison with its nauseating stench to attack its foes in various ways. Being on land and away from shore won't necessarily save you given it can make its poisons gaseous."
Pokémon Black 2: "It seems to hate everything that isn't another Luvdisc or part of a coral reef. Of its various other hates, it's difficult to tell whether it hates pollution, other poisonous Pokémon, or, oddly, Alomomola the most."
Pokémon White 2: "It is said that it curses those who damage coral in its sight, dooming all of their relationships to fail for the rest of their life. How one lifts this curse is currently unknown."

[Insert ancient "forever alone" meme here.] Outside of filling the void of "Luvdisc should have evolved into Alomomola (if Alomomola was going to have the audacity to exist in the first place)", Touffluv also fills the role of "actually all-around bulky Neutralizing Gas user" that I've seen a decent number of people seem fond of trying to shift Skuntank into in Pet Mods. Given how much that does make sense, I figured I would try a version of it that trades a bit of HP, immunity to Psychic, weakness to Electric (and Psychic), resistances to Grass and Dark, and only one weakness for slightly more bulk overall, keeping resistances to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy, and, most importantly, Recover and pivoting (and better Speed). That seems like a fair trade, and I would like to think a trade that doesn't push it over the edge of annoyance like that other Water/Poison mon, Toxapex. I could see maybe Toxic Spikes of all things pushing over the edge of obnoxiousness (if neither Flip Turn nor Knock Off already do) since those Toxic Spikes are super swingy in their (in)effectiveness, so feel free to get rid of that move I guess.

(And as far as "lifting the curse" goes, that would require being content in the solitude and in one's self, which is something most people, especially in poorly written romances, cannot do. [/I ♥ ironic curses])

R.I.P. trying to save Kricketune too. (Gods I'm so tired.)

Due to alephagalactus’ schedule at work means he won’t be here until about 4:30 PM today, I will extend the slate until at most 5:00 PM.

Make sure to use the extra time by then!

Voting slate is now open.

Alephagalactus haven’t returned from work yet, so in meanwhile, be sure to check the previous two pages by then. Like before, starters submitted as a trio will count for one submission.
