Klawf, Pure Rock
Anger Shell/Shell Armor

Spinning Eyes That Leave No Blind Spots
Klawf can rotate its protruding eyeballs to see everything around it, eliminating all blind spots. It latches upside down onto cliffs to ambush its prey from above. However, Klawf eventually gets dizzy from the blood rushing to its head, so it can’t stay upside down too long.

Claws That Are Both Strong and Dexterous
Klawf’s claws can hold onto things very tightly, not letting prey go once within its grasp. It uses one claw to hold its opponent in place while using the other to break its guard and hit it where it hurts. Even if a Klawf loses a claw in battle or elsewhere, it will grow back after a while. In certain parts of the Paldea region, Klawf claws are considered a valuable cooking ingredient.

Ability: Anger Shell
Klawf’s Anger Shell Ability is making its first appearance in the Pokémon series.
When Klawf’s HP drops to half or less, the Pokémon gets angry. This lowers its Defense and Sp. Def stats but boosts its Attack, Sp. Atk, and Speed stats.

Armarouge, Fire/Psychic
Flash Fire
Scarlet Only

Its Armor Is the Source of Its Psychic Power
Armarouge’s set of armor belonged to a distinguished warrior, and is the source of the energy used for its Psychic-type moves. It also uses the psychic capabilities of this armor to control the fire energy within its body and unleash attacks.

It Lives by the Principles of a Fair Fight
Armarouge believes in a fair fight and will challenge an opponent head-on no matter how much stronger that opponent is. It specializes in using its sturdy armor to bolster its defenses and take down enemies with its high firepower.

A Move Armarouge Can Learn: Armor Cannon
Armor Cannon is a Fire-type special move in which Armarouge moves both its pauldrons to its hands and puts its arms together to form a cannon, allowing it to shoot its own armor out as blazing projectiles.
This is one of the more powerful moves that Armarouge can learn, but it lowers Armorouge’s Defense and Sp. Defense stats in exchange for that power.

Ceruledge, Fire/Ghost
Flash Fire
Violet Only

Its Flaming Great Swords Absorb Life Energy
Ceruledge dons an old set of armor steeped in grudges and wields blades made of fire and ghost energy. In battle, these blades transform into great swords to increase Ceruledge’s power. Cuts from these great swords leave wounds from which life energy will flow.

Willing to Do Anything to Win
Ceruledge prefers close-quarters combat and isn’t above using tactics such as sneak attacks and surprise attacks to win a battle. It uses its quick movements to capitalize on its opponent’s blind spots, then closes the distance to slash its opponent with its large blades.

A Move Ceruledge Can Learn: Bitter Blade
Bitter Blade is a Fire-type physical move that gathers the lingering regrets of the fallen into Ceruledge’s swords, allowing it to focus that bitterness into a slashing attack.
The swords then absorb life energy from wounds they made, and the user’s HP is restored by up to half the damage taken by the target.

Official page got updated

The "evil team" this time isn't really a evil team but somewhere similar to Team Skull and Team Yell once more, bunch of rebellious teenagers :psysly:
Team Star was formed by the school’s most rebellious students and is made up of several squads. Each squad is led by its own boss, each with their own base scattered across the Paldea region. These class-cutting delinquents cause trouble for all those around them, giving the academy’s students and teachers a hard time by disturbing the peace and using pushy recruitment tactics.

March up to their bases and face off against the troublemaking Team Star!

As for the new pokemon
https://scarletviolet.pokemon.com/en-us/pokemon/ceruledge/
Fire Ghost with Flash Fire

https://scarletviolet.pokemon.com/en-us/pokemon/armarouge/
Fire Psychic with also Flash Fire

https://scarletviolet.pokemon.com/en-us/pokemon/klawf/
Rock type with Anger Shell (new ability that's basically a passive budget Shell Smash at half hp)

That said, anyone with more brain than me saw if there's any new confirmed returning pokemon?

Ceruledge and Armarouge look like Mega Man was turned into a Pokémon. It’s kind of annoying that they bought back Fire/Ghost again after repeated Pokémon of the same type in Gen 7 and 8.
Well I suppose it's kind of a "matching pair" if you think of it, also helped by Will O Wisps being resembling small fires.

I am a fan of one their signature moves (basically fire type Close Combat), not so much of the other (a fire type leech life), but I'll be curious to see what their stats will end up being.
By the way they are introduced I'm assuming they'll be this generation's "regular legendary" so pretty high chance they have high BP.

Tell Your Pokémon to Go Adventure!

You can have one Pokémon out and walking with you in the Paldea region’s great outdoors. When you have a Pokémon exploring with you in the field, you can use the “Let’s Go!” feature to send that Pokémon off in the direction you indicate. The Pokémon you send out then independently picks up items in the area and even has Auto Battles with nearby Pokémon.

What Are Auto Battles?

Auto Battles are a new way of battling that can be activated by using the “Let’s Go!” feature. Doing so will send out a Pokémon to battle wild Pokémon without needing orders from its Trainer. Your Pokémon can be sent into an Auto Battle against any wild Pokémon you see on the field, and it can even find Pokémon to engage in Auto Battles on its own.

When your Pokémon is out and engaging in Auto Battles, you can do what you want—stay by its side to watch over it, or try looking for items nearby. By defeating wild Pokémon in Auto Battles, your Pokémon can also earn items and Exp. Points!

Master using this new feature to explore every nook and cranny of the vast Paldea region with your Pokémon!
that sure looked awkward in the trailer, honestly.

They're normal Pokemon. The japanese site makes this very clear, they're with the regular Pokemon not the Legendary pokemon

Honestly this feature is actually intruguing, but i'm a bit divided on it.
If the pokemon can gain EVs this way, it allows you to EV pokes while doing other things, which is nice.

....However.... that'd also mean it'd risk gaining EVs you don't want. In which case I suppose it'd be still usable to level up already-EVd pokemon if you need?

Well that's a bit disappointing. Still hope they actually have good stats and don't end up being base Calyrex tier.

I love the artistic choices in this gen, both in the Pokémon and in the artworks, like

So much personality. Also the leaders and characters

Btw, this gym leader city in spanish is called Altamía, which i think could come from Altamira.

Naisu girl. I like how ... robotic she looks.

And the girl villain, Melo

Such a great design

ALL HAIL KLAWF

So now we have the evil team's name, which is Team Star.

We know a bit more on the names of the three storylines, that said, I would love for them to go into more detail about them soon.

Gym Leaders will use a mon not of their type as their ace but Terastalize them to make them the Tera-type of the type they specialize in (example: Tera-Grass Sudowoodo by the Grass Gym Leader).

Armarouge and Ceruledge definitely seem awesome, but they also seem like alternate evos of the same derivative Pokemon, possibly version exclusive with Armarouge being Scarlet exclusive and Ceruledge being Violet exclusive. Another Flapple and Appletun situation, I see!

Klawf is also a rad design.

Also the Paldea League has a chairwoman, just like how the Galar League had Chairman Rose running it. Hope she doesn't turn out to be the villain!

I think this exists purely for the way of "i want to explore, and not do a lot of battles" and also Team Star battle waves which seem to let you have multiple out at once.

Well that's a bit disappointing. Still hope they actually have good stats and don't end up being base Calyrex tier.
Something tells me they'll be extremely usable, yes.

What do you think about this new free battle function? The one that allows you to send your mon for it to fight automatically while you explore. I think this is great so get rid of some weak mons in certain routes and also gain evs while you are exploring. Because obviously youll not use it if the mons in the route are lvl 30 and your mon is lvl 30 too, but if you are somehow exploring other routes with low level mon it could be optimal to gain exp without engaging in battle.

I think this depends on the "range" of the auto battle, how fast you move, how big the areas are and how competent your Pokemon is and how often you have to keep sending it to other Pokemon

I think this is purely "i want to go that way but not deal with the battle while going there" so just send your pokemon out to deal with like 1 or 2 at a time.
