EDIT: Salt Cure vs Falinks itself was not very effective so it's not a freeze dry, but the passive damage from being "salt cured" was sizeable.

Several of the Paradox mons are immediately outright too strong for standard with Orialchum Pulse and my way too early prediction is that Heat Rock in particular will be banned. These calcs are insane.

We can confirm this is how Salt Cure works. Conveniently, the streamer just threw it out against Tera-Steel Falinks at +3 Def.

How would it be redundant? That's how Regieleki, Regidrago, and Perrserker work.
The question that needs to be answered about Salt Cure is whether it's a temporary hazard, like G-Max Volcalith for example, or if it is a traditional trapping move like Bind or Clamp.

What I'm saying is that in the stream Salt Cure did like 1 damage to a +3 Def Steel-type and then removed its remaining HP (~40%) in two turns of DoT.

Sad entry. Though, I find it interesting that its natural enemy would be Mawile, which could chew through steel, considering that's also a Fairy Steel Type. While sad, this still doesn't explain why it bullies Corviknight when it grows up. I don't think Corviknight even eats Steel.
I think this line might be my favorite new mon this gen. Its a Fairy Steel type that looks like it'll be good and isn't a Mega or Legendary.
