SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

To repeat my question, does anyone know how the Rock Salt pokemon's signature move works? It is a 40 base power Rock move, I assume it is a trapping move with the added effect of doing extra damage to Steel and Water types?

Also, there are two doubles combos I want to try. Grafaiai with Prankster Doodle and Toedscruel. Change its ability and unleash fast (with Trailblaze or Rapid Spin for support) Spores.

And secondly, a strong Earthquake user and Coil Orthworm. No need to worry about your ally, in fact, you help recover it while it stacks up. Seems fun!

Some more dex entries.

Im actually a bit skeptical about Last Rites as a good win conditon for BSS. The two users that can get it (and to be clear I don't think Basculeigon even has a current breeding path to get it) are slow without the proper weather, and you need 2/3 of your team to get knocked out. All it takes is either some bulky normal Pokemon (which might be a thing this gen in BSS, with Snorlax being gone I could see some teams looking for a new one) or Dark-type, or a Normal tera, and your plan is ruined. Not to mention that if Mimikyu is everywhere as usual, Houndstone is NOT gonna like that still being alive.

Normal wise:

Ursaluna (whenever we gain access to it) though unsure what moves will be available on it if we can't evolve one in game and this also raises the question of since ursarings can't evolve into it in sv can evolite be used on an ursaring? If so they are going to be decently bulky as well.

Dudunsparce is also pretty bulky and has plenty of tools to deal with it.

Hisuian Zoroark- immune to last respects and body press and can hit its special defense which fluffy does not effect.

Arboliva- homie is gonna take those body presses and sap strength you to death.

Trying to make this list I kinda realized how limited we are normal type wise. a lot of our standardly good ones are gone outside blissey/chansey.

I believe move relearner grants transferred mons access to the movepools that have been datamined, regardless of their origin

150 BP STAB Adaptability Ghost move off 112 base Attack is broken even in BSS.

Then again, Dynamax. Seems Gamefreak doesn't really give a fuck.
Honestly, I kinda liked Dynamax in BSS. I haven't played earlier gens version of the format, but it added some extra layers of strategy I think. Most games are <10 turns so the turns that Dynamax is active are very important. Usually it would boil down to Dynamax vs Dynamax situations which were pretty critical in deciding who would win the game. I'm by no means an expert in the format though, so maybe other, better players feel differently about the mechanic.

I actually went there to check and lo and behold

That's also where AV was.

Anything else left we're missing?
Nice! Glad to see Assault Vest, Rocky Helmet, and Eviolite are in the game. I thought they'd be scrapped after BDSP, but its good to know that they are still here lol.

I guess my one question is what are we able to do in the post-game. I know Gym Leader rematches are gone and there are no Battle Facilities, but is there anything else the player can sink their teeth into?

The postgame storyes are long enough to get you some more time, but after you're done with that too, you're kinda stuck with just raid and shiny breeding/hunting unfortunately from what I noticed.

At least for now, who knows if the home compat, the pvp patch or the dlcs bring something else

While thats cool, that would still limit ursaluna out of tediursa egg moves specifically.

didn't Sword and Shield have a feature that allowed a Pokemon to copy egg moves from another Pokemon without having been bred with them? You had to put them both in the daycare.

People are looking into if the Hisuian mons can truly evolve in this game, but even if they can't I have to imagine that copy method still exists. It was terrific for accessibility and would solve this issue.

There was, but we haven't found how to replicate this in SV.

For what we know, this functionality may actually not be here anymore.

I hear there's some sort of academy tournament which might include Gym Leader/E4 trainers.

Honestly if battle spot has rewards and actual progression again im pretty fine with that.

Its not looking to be back and even if it is the swsh method required them to both be the same stage of evolution which would not be possible if the evolutions aren't.

I find it funny just how much personality they're giving to this string cheese man lol. Surfing in its Pokedex card, and this.

I think they kinda had to do that though cause this thing has a REALLY polarizing design like its pre-evolution. Its kinda like what they've been trying to do for Mr. Mime lately.

I am wondering if Arboliva will have a place in the early meta since it has good stats, gets strength sap and can counter rain with basculegion pretty hard. Will see.
