Does anyone know how the evolution to pawmo works? I have been walking around with it for definely over 1000 steps with both follow and attacking. Its now level 59 from atleast level 40 I've been doing let's go mode to try to evolve it.

You have to walk slowly with it by your side using the R walking function. I walked in a city slowly for 5 minutes, gave it a rare candy, and it evolved.

You need to take the necessary steps and evolve it inside a battle or with a rare candy, the let's go battles can't make your pokémon evolve

TURNS OUT EGG MOVE PASSING GOT BETTER! This is how

I put Mirror Herb on two Pokemon: quaquaval and kilowattrel. My Quaquaval had 3 moves, and Kilowatrel had Roost (which is an egg move). I went into the picnic

Quaquaval got Roost!

It goes further too: EGG GROUPS DO NOT MATTER FOR THIS!

I got Rapid Spin on Quaquaval from a Cyclizar via this same method, neither of which share an egg group!

This also means that Basculegion should be able to get Last Rites via Houndstone passing it down with Mirror Herb!

EDIT UPDATE: The Pokemon that needs to hold the Mirror Herb is the Pokemon you want to put the egg move on.

I tested this with two picnic instantces with Quaquaval and Cyclizar (both are female btw, so gender does NOT matter).

When Quaquaval was the one holding the mirror herb, it got Rapid Spin.

When Cyclizar was holding Mirror Herb, Quaquaval got nothing.

Mirror Herb is so powerful, that you can even inherit stuff from UNHATCHED EGGS! Seriously, my Quaquaval also got Roost from a Quaxly egg that hadn't hatched yet lol.

So for those of you who want to use egg moves for ingame runs, doing it is easy! Just buy a Mirror Herb from the Delibird Gifts in Casacarrafa! It's the town with the Water-type gym in it.

Sinistea is a Violet exclusive and since Violet has only just began to be mined we probs won’t know for a few days, I imagine quite early though

(we don’t have location data at all yet either iirc)

Oh actually just to figure out how breeding works from that point.

so if that Quaquaval were to then breed through the usual means, does the mirror herb still need to be used or would it just work as normal for the offspring to have Roost? Would be kinda annoying to still use MH when we also need to technically use Destiny Knot & Everstone to get desired results in other areas.

(I’ve never generally heard of egg move transfer so I’m just wondering so v sorry if it’s super obvious)

Breeding still works the same for what matters, except you do it at pokemon camp rather than at a generic mansion.
Egg moves regularly get passed to offspring like before.

Though it'd be funny to check what happens if you have multiple compatible pokemon of different sexes lol.

Thanks, going straight there in the morning! Yeah I think there was some confusion given Charcadet’s evolution stemming from the Sinistea and Bronzor drops. Neither Sinistea nor Bronzor are version exclusive, but the NPC that trades for the Charcadet evo items is game exclusive. One benefit to that is you can gather all the items for trades in your game and then go to the other games world in multiplayer and get the other evo item.

I would guess that the Mirror Herb is no longer needed, since the Quaquaval who learnt it has the move now it should be passable along normally. Egg Move transfer in the old games did not require an item, most likely it needs one now because the breeding takes place in the picnic where it may be more difficult for the game to determine which Pokemon to pull egg moves from.

To go a step further, if Khu's Tweet is any indication, the way to get the optimum Pokemon is this:
  • Everstone on Parent with the right nature
  • Destiny Knot on the other Parent
  • Mirror Herb on the third Pokemon who has the egg moves
Then the resulting egg will have the right nature, get 5 IVs, and have egg moves. Will have to wait for more testing to be sure though.
