Oh then it's not a surprise. On a similar note I'm seeing more mentions of Ting-Lu and Hippowdown with the phashing shenanigans

Dtail hazard chomp was also a little more popular at the start before people realized that tera fairy just makes any bulk mon clefable at home. Hippo doesnt like Bonnett or Grass Chi-Yu offensively, let alone rain as a style - It literally has almost no niche over Ting-Lu outside of maybe not being objectively weak to fairy and fighting? But even then, Vessel of Ruin and the overall stat diff makes Ting-Lu just the better choice on 85% of most teams.

On the topic of this, I wonder - is there any other offensive threat that's just walled by a mon due to a lack of coverage?

Well technically because of Tera and Tera Blast, I don't think so because technically Chi-Yu can beat Tyranitar with Tera Blast fighting.

So pretty much I don't think it's possible unless you have Unaware. Nasty Plot Chi-Yu beats Blissey lol.

edit: Iron Moth I think gets walled by Clodsire unless it Tera Type into Psychic.

One discussion I'm interested about is, what new mon (in this gen & previous) do you think would be considered the most underrated from initial impressions. For example: Annihlape was initially cast off as an RU rocker suicide lead with a Niche in OU as the best user of Final Gambit, before it was fully realized as the top-tier stall crusher it became today. Another mention goes to tauros Paldea, which was seen as a worse version of tauros, before it gained a solid niche as a physically defensive pivot. Basically, what Mon was the most misjudged based on initial impressions?

My pick for this is Garganacl. Literally go back to the beginning of this thread and you can almost pinpoint where people started picking up on how good Salt Cure and Purifying Salt are even before tera options were realized. Skeledirge is a second ish choice, if only because a lot of people thought it'd land UU and was the weakest of the 3 starters, but now it's arguably the best of all the three.

PS. Y'all ready for Finch to give up his seat in an hour?

- Revival Blessing was hyped to be some stupid uncompetitive thing, but after trying it myself and seeing OU & Draft replays it turned out to be just mid honestly and there's no urgency to ban this shit.

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen revival blessing in OU in weeks.

he doesnt know aabout that one time in UU where Ttar, Aegislash, and Scyther were in UU at the same time

Or that TTar actually happened to be perfectly fine down there unlike Aegislash and was never really considered overbearing.

Unsure what UU's gonna look like long-term since right now OU's best setup sweeper is down there because ladder works in mysterious ways, but TTar has such a lackluster place in this meta that I can see it both dropping from OU and staying out this time.

As the local Flamigo Stan, I'm v disappointed by the refusal to go YOLO with Tera Fighting CC on turn one there.

just checked, 1.33 adaptability boost from Tera fighting gives flamingo enough juice to OHKO the dragapult on first turn!

I loved the Tera steel turn, to force the outcome on annihilape and/or hurt whatever may have come in
