have we reached the point where the general populace doesn't remember the absolute shitshow that was the pokebank rollout
Well, I didn't play pokemon during that time. I only began in 2019 so what did happen during the pokebank rollout?

If i am remembering correctly, early Bank was a massive misinformation campaign of """""legal""""" mons that bank allowed through to cart, even if they weren't VGC legal by the special mark that the gen implemented. For example, Rock Head Tyrantrum was useable through battle spot via hacks before it was ever officially released. Because of conflicting info and because battle spot """did""" allow it, Tyrantrum had access too an ability before it was actually legal and it took a week or two for fixes to be made before we knew what was legal or not. This is one of many examples.Well, I didn't play pokemon during that time. I only began in 2019 so what did happen during the pokebank rollout?
I have been using Cyclizar myself and from what I recollectedHave you guys tried using Cyclizar after Shed Tail ban? Do you have any thoughts on him?
I mean, as a full own wallbreaker sure, it will never outdamage something as say, Banded meow or Specs valiant, but it's a side dish, the fries on the burger, the underpaid workers at disneyland, the anime girl sticker on the nuclear reactor. Stuff that helps a little, you know?Fully offensive Cyclizar is a hard sell due to damage output limitations. Cyclizar is a viable option with utility, but people trying to sell it as a breaker or sweeper are in over their heads

not just that, i was also more specifically referring to how bank's release was delayed by a month because when it was first put on the eshop the servers couldn't handle the load. between that history and the reception sv got on release for being so unfinished (i love the games, they're some of my favorites in the series, but they were objectively not finished on release), i wouldn't be surprised if game freak just went "hey sorry we're pushing home back till summer because there are maybe three people on our team who actually how to code, please understand". or worse, "whoops, the servers exploded because we use technology about two generations behind everyone else's and also we somehow manage to underestimate how many people play pokemon"If i am remembering correctly, early Bank was a massive misinformation campaign of """""legal""""" mons that bank allowed through to cart, even if they weren't VGC legal by the special mark that the gen implemented. So the problem with HOME for SV is in a similar vein in many ways. SS allowed for use of pokemon in casual play with moves they couldn't learn for competitive. However BDSP did not, and changed movepools of pokemon from SS and Arceus to reflect the BDSP level moves. So due too this, we have no way of knowing if mons that can learn certain moves in casual SS meta retain those moves in SV until HOME releases.

none of those are natural switchins though to the expected cyclizar set and every one of them can ohko if they come in after without tera. I love the niche sets but i expect that to be a lot better in UU than here.Finch I'm not gonna lie I agree with you but I've been playing around with Choice Banded Cyclizar (Jolly) and some of the calcs are pretty wild:
(Mind you I've played with CB Cyclizar and shockingly have had success) (Double Edge is viable strictly because of Regen)
252 Atk Choice Band Tera Normal Cyclizar Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Dondozo: 206-244 (40.8 - 48.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Tera Normal Cyclizar Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Iron Valiant: 344-406 (119 - 140.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Tera Normal Cyclizar Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Great Tusk: 248-294 (66.8 - 79.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
well, it's already missed the "early 2023" window they claimed; we're already in q2 and past tax season. the utter silence from game freak is also deafening. and since this is just a functionality update instead of a whole game being released, the margin of error is a lot smaller because there's nothing they can do to hide even minor glitches, so they have to get it exactly right on their first go-around or that's bad press that can cut into dlc salesI'd be surprised if they actually delay it if they think it's not ready yet considering many major gaming companies don't seem to care if their games aren't fully polished before release

inteleon movepool is crazy it hits everything
+ its speed is insane it outspeeds everything but meow and gren
i think inteleon will be a very nice pivot and sit in a similar position to cinderace in the sense that it can hit the majority of OU with super effective moves and can pivot easily with u turn and such, and its bulky enough to survive most neutral attacks from stuff like valiant, roaring moon, etc
specs will turn it into a nuke but honestly i like the idea of expert belt inteleon

There is already a Mon that does almost all that, the name is Greninja. Its faster and while it hits less hard with Water Moves... it hits harder with every other type due to Protean. I see no niche for this Mon except for some Lansat Berry + Sniper gaming in Rain... where Greninja, Walking Wake and even Golduck are still better.
252+ SpA Tera Water Inteleon Snipe Shot vs. 252 HP / 64 SpD Toxapex in Rain on a critical hit: 148-175 (48.6 - 57.5%) -- 53.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery < If you need such set-up (Modest, Tera, Sub and Rain) to break Pex, you are unviable, sorry.
Also, its ugly, so that is another negative point.
Something cool that I never really saw in previous generations (other than infestation) is binding moves
Something cool that I never really saw in previous generations (other than infestation) is binding moves. A few weeks ago an alomomola took out my garg with a surprise whirlpool/ liquidation set, I didn't think I had to keep it healthy against alomomola then bang it was too late I was slower and trapped in KO range.
Inteleon's actually pretty big in Japan-it got it's own merch line and one of those massive plushies, even.Imagine making a 7 star tera for one of if not the least popular starter ever. Chesnaught or any gen 3 starter would've been much cooler
