It is coming.
tbd 1: Moongeist Beam off of that spatk is already pretty strong, but the problem for me is the speed, 120 is quite fast. This doesn't have Focus Blast at least, but this will put a lot of pressure on teams to find a good Ghost resist (which tend to be pretty rare defensive types) which worries me a bit. I'd probably reduce Speed a bit, but I'm open to discuss it some more if you want because this isn't a super clear-cut case for me.words
Lanburn: I had thought of a Levitate Fire type before this slate and this does it pretty well. Its damage output is pretty insane, but between the middling Speed, awful physical bulk and Rock weakness, it should be manageable. Volt Switch is a pretty interesting option, some more flexibility is always appreciated. Might want to consider adding a bit to its flavor moves with stuff like Ember.words
Imposter in general is a bit of a niche option which idt works well in a micrometa. You can't really execute the concept badly, it's just an awkward one for this kind of mod. I'd say having a 4x Rocks weakness holds it back too much though, it just makes it a lot harder to work with. Maybe just make it 2x weak or make it part Flying instead to be Spikes immune.words
Iron Cryogen: This has quite good offensive options for that SpAtk and Speed stat, but I like that its (horrible) defensive typing and middling overall bulk holds it back from finding too many switch-in opportunities. Having boltbeam and Ice/Ground coverage on an Ice type is also pretty interesting since, generally, Electric and Ground appreciate Ice's SE coverage rather than the other way around. It's still not easy to answer it as it can hit Waters, Steels and Fires thanks to its coverage and strong Psychics can be pretty hard to switch into. I doubt this is broken though, just a bit extreme. Main issue with it for me rn is it mostly just runs though our current mons so we'll need to add answers, but that's kinda whatever when we're at 3 mons.words
Axpsycho: ...What in the name of god is this. I mean I guess it provides speed control if you really need it, but the small movepool is def gonna make it end up as a gimmick mon in people's eyes. Its role is also pretty limited aside from "fast physical attacker" so it's uninteresting for a weird mon. I can't say I like it, but I also couldn't tell you how to make it appealing without just making a new sub entirely. Keep it if you like it.words
Acheroth: Surprisingly enough, Tinted Lens barely does anything for this since the only resist to Ghost is Dark which is already weak to Bug. This can do a lot of damage with Moongeist Beam and Calm Mind, but I think its defensive typing is too bad for its speed tier. I'd say moving 10 HP to Speed would help this work a bit better.words
Blazenbull: Wallbreaker with some defensive utility is nice. Rocks weakness prevents it from properly just going CB and clicking buttons which is nice for something with STAB Espeed and Reckless-boosted STAB. No setup also makes this better in my eyes. Well balanced sub I'd say.words
Spydirge: The roles you described aren't really roles as Agility as sole setup isn't enough to properly sweep and status spreading tends to be an add-on that doesn't fit with a 111 spatk Moongeist Beam user. Honestly, this mon probably just nukes shit with Analytic-boosted Moongeist Beams and its good physical bulk. Seeing how powerful that is and since that might not be your main focus, you could consider removing Analytic and/or nerfing the bulk while adding options like Calm Mind to help make Agility sets more realistic.words
Jagwise: It's nice to see someone actually using Normal typing, this should work pretty well as a fast NP breaker, I don't know if it needs that much SpDef, but if you're going for 600 BST, it's fine and it's not like the mon suffers from it.words
Volchestra: That is probably too much SpAtk for STAB Boomburst, you'll have to tone it down at least 20 points since it hits very hard even with Boots. Aside from that, it's nice that this has a lot of options, not sure why Sticky Web is in there though, that seems like a pretty important aspect that you failed to mention in the description. It seems a bit strong for a move you could just slap on as a 4th option on an already scary breaker.words
Volcrab: This just seems like it'll have a lot of trouble in long games due to being Boots-locked, lacking recovery and having many weaknesses. Honestly the big issue for me is just its complete inability to restore any health. Even being able to use Leftovers would have been nice, but this doesn't even have it. This is a bit bulky for reliable recovery, but weirdly enough, I could see Leech Seed working. I'd understand if you'd rather not want that. You could also lower HP a bit and give it Recover or something. You can discuss this with me a bit, it's not an easy mon for me to wrap my head around and it seems a bit awkward to modify.words
What a phenomenal sub. You should vote for this sub.Based off of Breloom
Fakemon Name: Stavage
Set Number: 2
Weight: 34,2kgs
Stats: 60/130/80/60/60/70 (460 BST)
Typing: Water/Dragon
Abilities: Effect Spore/Poison Heal/Technician
Genderless
Viables Moves: Aqua Jet, Baneful Bunker, Barb Barrage, Breaking Swipe, Bulldoze, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Dragon Tail, Earthquake, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Mortal Spin, Outrage, Recover, Scald, Toxic, Triple Dive, Gen 9 Universal TMs
Flavor Moves: Acid, Acid Spray, Aqua Cutter, Aqua Ring, Astonish, Bide, Block, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Camouflage, Chilling Water, Confuse Ray, Dive, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rage, Dragon Rush, Flail, Gastro Acid, Giga Drain, Giga Impact, Growth, Harden, Haze, Hyper Beam, Infestation, Life Dew, Muddy Water, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Mud Sport, Poison Jab, Poison Sting, Rain Dance, Slam, Snowscape, Spike Cannon, Spit Up, Splash, Stockpile, Strength, Surf, Swallow, Venoshock, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool
Description: This is like a dragon starfish thing? Not quite sure, but anyway. Stavage utilizes very strong Technician-boosted options, notably Aqua Jet, Flip Turn and Triple Dive to apply some heavy pressure. Its Dragon STABs, while overwhelming, still give it access to a decent 90BP Breaking Swipe. Its coverage is quite good as Dragon already hits opposing Dragon types that resist its Water moves with Bulldoze or Earthquake hitting Steel types and Barb Barrage getting through Grass and Fairy types. However, it might not be able to fit all this coverage as Choiced sets appreciate being able to use multiple Water moves for varying utility while Dragon Dance sets can only fit 3 attacking moves.
Stavage may also be able to use Poison Heal sets, though their viability may be held back by its poor bulk, even when invested. However, Water/Dragon offers some interesting resistances and neutralities and it has access to options such as Mortal Spin and Dragon Tail as utility. Alongside Mortal Spin, Scald and Toxic can also spread status and it can stall for Poison and Burn damage as well as Poison Heal recovery between Baneful Bunker and Recover. Poison Heal sets could also be used to setup Dragon Dances as Stavage becomes immune to status such as Burn and Paralysis and may be more difficult to KO, but it also loses a lot of power in the process which may not be worth it.
While its offensive potential with Technician is incredible, Stavage is hampered by many of the same weaknesses that Breloom suffers for, notably mediocre Speed and Bulk. Fortunately, Technician-boosted Aqua Jet can help with the Speed a bit, but opponents that resist it or have decent bulk will be quite a pain to get through. To safely get on the field and get some work done, Stavage will require a lot of support as it needs to switch-in on an opponent that is slower than it or one-shotted by Aqua Jet. From there, Choice Band and Dragon Dance sets can start applying a lot of pressure for sure, but its low stats really hamper its ability to be a constant threat in the format.
Lagoluyuna: I'm kinda worried about the bulk for something with STAB Ghost/Fighting and decent moves. Beating NP+Moongeist+Aura seems pretty tough already, but beating it on a mon with pretty impressive bulk and Moonlight on top just seems like too much. I doubt this mon can be balanced to work with fully defensive roles without becoming too hard to kill on offensive sets regardless. I guess removing Nasty Plot could help, but it'd still be annoying with Wisp+Moonlight. Anyway, prob drop HP a bit and Moonlight.words
Grrilla: I like my Gorilla Tactics users and this seems fairly balanced. You could probably add some kind of coverage for Fairy types seeing as it's already prediction-reliant, but it could be something weaker like Barb Barrage.words
Aquagon: The speed isn't that impressive, but ig it works because it has a lot of bulk. Abilities don't really need to be all that good either. It's probably a good mon, just mostly seems like what it does is pretty clear-cut.words
Basilife: 124 SpAtk is a bit high to be throwing out an option as strong as Moongeist Beam off of so maybe just lower it by 10? It still has options like Calm Mind and Nasty Plot to make it pretty scary, so I wouldn't worry about its damage output, it should be able to put in work.words
This is probably balanced now, I just don't know why we'd add it when we have Batacomb. You already know what this mon does and you already know what to expect of it.words
Coldesmaufou: I feel like we might have to veto this just by definition. If you want real feedback, 145 attack Glacial Lance is stupid.words
