Ground types in the mud
Do you hear it? How the wind whispers its name?
IMG_20230611_143039.jpg

It is coming.

Hopefully I do not regret removing Wish on Scorpixie. Spikes kinda go crazy (eventually) and having a moderately strong Moonblast + Nasty Plot might make it more than meets the eye. No matter what I can't see big PhysDef like it being unviable so I would not be surprised if it tried more offensive options.

Vamplim imo will probably run Opportunitist more often than Thermal Exchange. Because while burn immunity is real good it's so situationally useful on a mon like that, where as always winning a Calm Mind war or being a very good Rapid Spin punisher seems alot more valuable.

Batacomb is pretty neat with Nasty Plot and the like (common theme) but it really misses no Knock Off so it can cripple it's big foes. I can see the standard Rocks EP U-turn go crazy though with that last slot pretty customizable.

Anyway these winners are pleasant to look at and it will be interesting to Revist and see where they stand 4 slates from now.

Actual reviews:

I'm not a huge fan of Scorpixie personally in part because Boots-locked without recovery and also being a Dark resist could make Knock so awkward to play around cause you probably don't want to run double fairies. It can vomit a bunch of hazards and then pivot out with like Moonblast for damage. Idk how good NP will be since by the time you've set it up, your opponent just has a Fire type in whatever HP you lost you can never get back. It'll still be nice because it has good physical resists and a ton of physical bulk, but I'd rather something else have won tbh.

Batacomb will just be good, idk if there's a way for it to get powercrept out of relevance. Rocks+U-Turn+2 Attacks seems pretty consistent, but I can see CM and NP breaking pretty well too. One thing to note is how good Sandsear Storm will be for every set, you probably don't love miss chance, but higher damage and 20% burn can turn the game in your favor really easily. Its coverage is kinda poor though and it doesn't hit like Lando-I, so it will probably run into some issues with a lot of Flying types.

Vamplin is fine, it's like a bulkier Crobat basically which has always been good in lower tiers. 110 speed is actually pretty relevant even if you plan on using it defensively and early Defog+U-Turn on a bulky mon is nice, kinda reminds me of Restrictions Scalaron in a way. Kinda wish it had better options than Hurricane and Sludge Bomb offensively, but ig you could run 2 attacks with Hurricane/Sludge Bomb+Heat Wave.

Overall gives us a solid start, we already have a hazard game and we've got some good options to expand upon with types like Fire, Electric and Water notably being interesting additions currently.

Slate time!

Set 1

Pokémon:
Lanburn
Type:
1686598436379.png
1686598446446.png

Abilities:
Illuminate / Flame Body / Levitate (HA)
Stats: 66 / 55 / 66 / 120 / 115 / 88 | 520
Weight: 4.2 kg
Movepool: Moongeist Beam, Shadow Ball, Hex, Overheat, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Mystical Fire, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Volt Switch, Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Dark Pulse, Poltergeist, Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Flare Blitz, Wild Charge, Knock Off, Destiny Bound, Curse, Spite, Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Pain Split, Trick, Taunt, Nasty Plot, Torment
Design: A ghost in the shape of a lantern, holding a giant red flame in the middle of it.
Description: With an incredible offensive typing and very strong STAB moves, Lanburn is a potent wallbreaker and offensive threat. Its access to Nasty Plot and access to coverage such as Thunderbolt make it hard to check. Its access to moves such as Wisp, Trick, and Taunt further allow it to cripple potential threats. However, its common weaknesses, poor physical bulk, and only okay speed mean its not completely impossible to handle.

Set 2

Pokémon: Iron Jaws
Type:
1686605517607.png
1686605536284.png

Abilities:
Quark Drive
Stats: 90 / 112 / 120 / 72 / 70 / 106 | 570
Weight: 84 kg
Movepool: Carvanha’s Movepool + Wave Crash, Close Combat, Brick Break, Wild Charge, Thunder Fang, Focus Blast, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Volt Switch, Nasty Plot, Thunder Wave, Spikes, Roar; - Toxic
Design: Future Paradox Carvanha. The design is much bigger, with sharp spiked metal jaws. The color scheme is red and black instead of red and blue, and its eyes are red, with targets on them, with lasers coming out of them to point to potential prey and lock on.
Description: Fast offensive threat that can sweep with Swords Dance or just serve as a Spikes setter. Its surprisingly good physical bulk can allow it to run defensive sets with Flip Turn and Spikes. It can also be a good stallbreaker with Taunt. STAB Wave Crash and Close Combat hit incredibly hard, having little switch-ins. However, it’s very vulnerable to special attacks.

Set 3

Pokemon: Thermtail
Type:
1686612812143.png

Abilities:
Water Absorb / Static / Electric Surge (HA)
Stats: 99 / 51 / 75 / 99 / 125 / 41 | 490

Weight: 0.6 kg
Movepool: Zap Cannon, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Cage, Discharge, Volt Switch, Parabolic Charge, Charge Beam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Brine, Icy Wind, Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb, Acid Spray, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Wild Charge, Wave Crash, Liquidation, Waterfall, Poison Jab, Thunder Wave, Eerie Impulse, Electric Terrain, Charge, Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Reflect, Light Screen, Calm Mind, Magic Coat, Mirror Coat, Nasty Plot, Recover, Refresh, Spikes, Stealth Rock
Design: Giant electric stingray with its tail conducting the most electricity.
Description: Special wall that can provide a lot of support with Electric Surge and spreading status and hazards. It’s also not especially passive due to its powerful Electric moves and good coverage. However, it’s speed and weakness to Ground hold it back, and physical attackers can easily break past it.

Set Number: 3
Weight: 20kg
Stats: 70/110/75/110/75/90
Typing: Bug/Fire
Abilities: Impostor
Movepool: Silk Trap, Bitter Blade, Sandsear Storm, Glaive Rush, Lunar Dance, Doodle, Accelerock, Tar Shot.
Design: A crafty little bug encasing/disguising itself in a fiery chrysalis. Possibly some vague design inspiration from heat hazes/mirages?
Description: Impostor user that has actual stats/moves when not transformed, but won't be able to make use of them most of the time because of its ability. Its HP is bigger than Ditto's, but it has a much worse type for switching in, especially with hazards on the table -- is it worth forfeiting Scarf for Boots?

Fakemon Name: Iron Cryogen
Set Number: 2 (Borrowed from Iron Moth)
Weight: same as cryogonal
Stats: 80 / 70 / 60 / 140 / 110 / 110
Typing: Psychic / Ice
Abilities: Quark Drive
Movepool: Psychic, Psybeam, Extrasensory, Imprison, Reflect, Light Screen, Dream Eater, Agility, Trick Room, Trick, Psychic Terrain, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Ice Punch, Ice Shard, Haze, Sheer Cold (banned but here for flavor), Powder Snow, Frost Breath, Volt Switch, Earth Power, Air Slash, Surf, Gen 9 Universals, Acid Spray, Charge Beam, Metal Sound, Morning Sun, Gust, Solar Beam, Struggle Bug, Lock-On
Flavor: It's a consciousness sealed in ice. The name comes from cryogenics (i.e. freezing someone's brain to preserve it). Probably a paradox cryogonal
Description: Fast offensive pivot. Iron Moth has a pivoting move, but since it's coming off of non-stab 70 attack and it doesn't really want to use it, it doesn't see much use. Iron Cryogen's Volt Switch, on the other hand, is far more powerful, coming off of 140 Special Attack and giving Iron Cryogen powerful BoltBeam coverage. There's options for the Ice STAB- Ice Beam for consistency or Blizzard for those big serotonin numbers. It also has a whole lot of coverage in addition to BoltBeam, with Earth Power probably being the preferred option. In a similar vein to Iron Moth, 4A sets with Volt Switch / Beam/Blizzard / Psychic / Earth Power will probably be most potent.

Set 1~ (Uses 51 Atk, 138 Def, and 111 SpAtk, and viably uses Moongeist Beam)
Name: Spydirge (spy + spider + dirge)
Type:
Ghost.png
Bug.png

Abilities: Sap Sipper, Compound Eyes, Clear Body
Stats: 103 | 51 | 138 | 111 | 58 | 64 [BST = 525]
Movepool: Absorb, Agility, Bug Bite, Bug Buzz, Calm Mind, Curse, Defog, Disable, Dream Eater, Fairy Wind, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Hex, Hydro Pump, Infestation, Leech Life, Light Screen, Mega Drain, Memento, Moonblast, Moongeist Beam, Night Shade, Ominous Wind, Pain Split Poison Powder, Pounce, Protect, Psybeam, Psychic, Rage Powder, Reflect, Rest, Screech, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Signal Beam, Silver Wind, Sludge Bomb, String Shot, Struggle Bug, Stun Spore, Toxic, Will-o-wisp
Weight: 41.8 kg
Competitive Role: CM sweeper or bulky support with reliable status via compound eyes
Flavor: Daddy longlegs with a main body vaguely resembling a skull and eye pattering simliar to night vision goggles. Spydirges like to live in the dark corners of basements and attics, but despite their imposing appearance they are usually kept around because of their diet of common pests and molds.

Set 2~ (Copies Walking Wake's typing and movepool)
Name: Czarial (czar + gharial)
Type:
Water.png
Dragon.png

Abilities: Mold Breaker, Hydration, Rough Skin
Stats: 105 | 120 | 100 | 70 | 90 | 75 [BST = 560]
Movepool: Agility, Bite, Aqua Jet, Body Slam, Breaking Swipe, Chilling Water, Crunch, Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Endure, Facade, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Giga Impact, Hone Claws, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Hydro Steam, Hyper Beam, Leer, Liquidation, Low Kick, Mud Shot, Noble Roar, Outrage, Protect, Rain Dance, Rest, Roar, Scary Face, Sleep Talk, Snarl, Substitute, Sunny Day, Surf, Swift, Take Down, Twister, Waterfall, Water Pulse
Weight: 102.6 kg
Competitive Role: Bulky DDance sweeper that is held back by lackluster coverage... that doesn't really matter when you have STAB Aqua Jet and Outrage coming off a fat 120 Attack though, huh?
Flavor: Big blue gator with details based on Russian royalty. If you're swimming in a river or lake, and the water seems unusually calm, get out as soon as you can - a Czarial has likely claimed territory, and they don't allow anything within.

Set 3~ (Only 1 stat >= 100, Monotype, uses an AAA-banned ability)
Name: Gobblen (gobble + goblin)
Type:
Dark.png

Abilities: Good as Gold
Stats: 90 | 95 | 80 | 70 | 80 | 125 [BST = 540]
Movepool: Acrobatics, Assurance, Bite, Crunch, Dark Pulse, Double-Edge, Fire Fang, Fire Punch, Flash Cannon, Foul Play, Hone Claws, Ice Fang, Ice Punch, Knock Off, Nasty Plot, Night Slash, Play Rough, Power Gem, Protect, Rapid Spin, Rest, Scary Face, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Slack Off, Sleep Talk, Spikes, Substitute, Sucker Punch, Switcheroo, Taunt, Thunderbolt, Thunder Fang, Thunder Punch, Thunder Wave, Torment
Weight: 12.7 kg
Competitive Role: Preemptive counter to all the ghost-type subs we will inevitably get for Set 1. Blocks wisp, blocks/removes hazards, and uses STAB crunch/knock off for respectable damage
Flavor: Dark blue generic goblin that likes eating coins, jewelery, and other shiny macguffins.

Typing: Normal/Psychic
Abilities: Illuminate / Sturdy | Good as Gold
Movepool: Psychic, Psyshock, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Hyper Voice, Nasty Plot, Teleport, filling out rest later
Description: This is one I'm still completely on the fence about, it seemed a bit weird but vaguely interesting enough, so here we are until I come up with something better. The bulk rounds out to be not amazing, around 90/85/85, so nobody can complain to me about minmaxing. You have literally two resists and neither are perfect on their own so a lot of its defensive utility is going to boil down to Good as Gold, which is still very good.

Stats: 85/65/90/75/120/100 (535)

Abilities: Levitate
Movepool: Roaring Moon's + Defog, Knock Off
Description: I actually had this as a Roaring Moon sub at first before realizing Levitate fits what I want this to do and would let me have Defog and Knock lmao. Roaring Moon's movepool has some pretty cool stuff like U-Turn, Roost, and Taunt or even like Fire Spin or something if you're feeling spicy. Typing is also somewhat interesting but I feel like both Hydreigon and Roaring Moon both have things keeping them from running full defensive sets, provided you don't count Chi-Yu meta.

Fakemon Name: Jellamp

Typing: Fighting/Fire
Abilities: Unburden / --- | Poison Heal
Movepool: Collision Course, Bitter Blade, Magma Storm, Revelation Dance, Barb Barrage, Chilly Reception, Baneful Bunker, Stone Axe, will fill in some worse sigs for flavor later
Description: Jellyfish lava lamp. Did you know there are genetically-modified glowing fish that people keep as pets? I learned that while looking up stuff for the flavor. Weird. Anyways Poison Heal is pretty cool, one of the few abilities in the slate that I don't find outright boring. The typing just looked cool defensively for something like this, I like the defensive qualities of Fire even if it's kinda just worse Water in some respects and Fighting doesn't get enough respect defensively either. This thing doesn't care about Knock Off past turn 1 and in a way kinda punishes U-Turn by healing more damage than it takes in most cases.

Description: Gotta go fast. Re-living the shark spikestack days. I have not watched Sonic but have played a singular level. Not a hedgehog. Not blue. Not crazy. Has a degree in nyoom. It boosts its speed by removing training weights. A glass-like cover protects its eyes.
You have Hone Claws to boost the accuracy of the unreliable coverage.

Fakemon Name: Volcrab
Set Number: 1 (Type and Stats)
Type: Rock / Fire
Stats: 65 / 51 / 138 / 111 / 144 / 74
Abilities: Sturdy / Dauntless Shield | Sand Spit (HA)
Moves: Universal TMs
Special: Lava Plume, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Eruption, Power Gem, Meteor Beam, Earth Power, Scorching Sands, Surf, Scald, Revelation Dance,
Physical: Body Press, Knock Off, Final Gambit, Explosion
Status: Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic, Taunt, Switcheroo, Lunar Dance, Jungle Healing, Iron Defense
Flavor: TBD
Reasoning: A big tank that can do a good job of making progress thanks to its wide movepool. Sand Spit and Dauntless Shield can both give it situational boosts to its defenses. Could also function as a decent Custap Berry lead with Sturdy. It doesn't like Batacomb that much but it's not totally hopeless against it since it can potentially outspeed it, remove it's item, hit it with Water-type attacks, or status it. It does quite well into the other two pokemon.
Flavor: Haha it's funny because it's a crab and it has dance moves. Also I gave it Lunar Dance instead of Moongeist Beam. Ok thanks for reading.

Set Number: 2 (Stats and Abilities of Meowscarada)
Type: Grass / Flying
Stats: 76 / 110 / 70 / 81 / 70 / 123
Abilities: Overgrow / Protean
Moves: Universal TMs
Physical: Leaf Blade, Dual Wingbeat, Acrobatics, Superpower, Sacred Sword, Behemoth Blade, Dragon Darts, Dragon Claw, U-turn, Night Slash, Shadow Claw,
Special: Leaf Storm, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Hurricane, Air Slash, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball,
Status: Dragon Dance, Taunt, Defog, Roost,
Flavor: TBD
Reasoning: Mostly an offensive pivot. It starts with pretty bad typing, but its Protean coverage of Dragon / Steel / Fighting lets it resist just about anything it wants in addition to having solid offensive coverage. I don't think Choiced sets are out of the question, but they'll need support.
Flavor: A large, wyvern-like pokemon whose wings are composed of one giant leaf.

Fakemon Name: Impelli
Set Number: 3 (Type, Stats, Abilities, and Moves)
Type: Psychic
Stats: 99 / 99 / 99 / 99 / 99 / 105
Abilities: Contrary | Unburden (HA)
Moves:
Physical: Psyblade, Psyshield Bash, Mortal Spin, Collision Course, Bitter Blade, Kowtow Cleave, Spin Out, Diamond Storm, Drum Beating, Flying Press, Glaive Rush, Hyper Drill, Mountain Gale,
Special: Psystrike, Freezing Glare, Lumina Crash, Esper Wing, Armor Cannon, Electro Drift, Wildbolt Storm, Overdrive, Night Daze, Bitter Malice, Sandsear Storm, Bleakwind Storm, Revelation Dance,
Status: Teatime, Chilly Reception, Tidy Up, Lunar Blessing, Magic Powder
Reasoning: Probably a Lumina Crash or Mortal Spin machine, but it has a lot of options like Esper Wing, Teatime + Unburden, or Tidy Up + Physical attacks.
Flavor: name is based on "impeller", which for art purposes is basically a twisty propeller. Also Kokopelli, which means it'll be a human-like mon with a propeller for hair. The arms will be fan blades to justify Esper Wing. Tried to choose moves that were semi-reasonable for this flavor + Psychic type.

s: Aqua Jet, Baneful Bunker, Barb Barrage, Breaking Swipe, Bulldoze, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Dragon Tail, Earthquake, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Mortal Spin, Outrage, Recover, Scald, Toxic, Triple Dive, Gen 9 Universal TMs

Flavor Moves: Acid, Acid Spray, Aqua Cutter, Aqua Ring, Astonish, Bide, Block, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Camouflage, Chilling Water, Confuse Ray, Dive, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rage, Dragon Rush, Flail, Gastro Acid, Giga Drain, Giga Impact, Growth, Harden, Haze, Hyper Beam, Infestation, Life Dew, Muddy Water, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Mud Sport, Poison Jab, Poison Sting, Rain Dance, Slam, Snowscape, Spike Cannon, Spit Up, Splash, Stockpile, Strength, Surf, Swallow, Venoshock, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool

Description: This is like a dragon starfish thing? Not quite sure, but anyway. Stavage utilizes very strong Technician-boosted options, notably Aqua Jet, Flip Turn and Triple Dive to apply some heavy pressure. Its Dragon STABs, while overwhelming, still give it access to a decent 90BP Breaking Swipe. Its coverage is quite good as Dragon already hits opposing Dragon types that resist its Water moves with Bulldoze or Earthquake hitting Steel types and Barb Barrage getting through Grass and Fairy types. However, it might not be able to fit all this coverage as Choiced sets appreciate being able to use multiple Water moves for varying utility while Dragon Dance sets can only fit 3 attacking moves.

Stavage may also be able to use Poison Heal sets, though their viability may be held back by its poor bulk, even when invested. However, Water/Dragon offers some interesting resistances and neutralities and it has access to options such as Mortal Spin and Dragon Tail as utility. Alongside Mortal Spin, Scald and Toxic can also spread status and it can stall for Poison and Burn damage as well as Poison Heal recovery between Baneful Bunker and Recover. Poison Heal sets could also be used to setup Dragon Dances as Stavage becomes immune to status such as Burn and Paralysis and may be more difficult to KO, but it also loses a lot of power in the process which may not be worth it.

While its offensive potential with Technician is incredible, Stavage is hampered by many of the same weaknesses that Breloom suffers for, notably mediocre Speed and Bulk. Fortunately, Technician-boosted Aqua Jet can help with the Speed a bit, but opponents that resist it or have decent bulk will be quite a pain to get through. To safely get on the field and get some work done, Stavage will require a lot of support as it needs to switch-in on an opponent that is slower than it or one-shotted by Aqua Jet. From there, Choice Band and Dragon Dance sets can start applying a lot of pressure for sure, but its low stats really hamper its ability to be a constant threat in the format.

Status: Agility, Nasty Plot, Lunar Blessing, Stealth Rock, Trick
Comp: Physical, special, and defensive, wow! Physical sets take advantage of big Close Combats, but everything resists it and Shadow Claw sucks so that's a bummer. Special sets use a slightly less big but less resisted Moongeist Beam, and you could do some weird NP+Agility sets (or just NP idk).

Description: A physical wallbreaker with Gorilla Tactics & coverage galore. You can run Order Up as safe STAB, or Glaive Rush if you want to play more risky. It may struggle vs Scorpixie due to its Raging Fury being exploitable & Salt Cure being weak as an attacking move, but has a great matchup vs batacomb (and vamplin if you run scarf) since it outspeeds and can use Mountain Gale.

Wassup we reviewing subs. Half of this was done half-asleep while the other half was done half-awake, so I hope you have fun. Once again, you can ask me on discord what a proper change would be or maybe even if you disagree with my criticism. Anyway have a nice sub review.

tbd 1: Moongeist Beam off of that spatk is already pretty strong, but the problem for me is the speed, 120 is quite fast. This doesn't have Focus Blast at least, but this will put a lot of pressure on teams to find a good Ghost resist (which tend to be pretty rare defensive types) which worries me a bit. I'd probably reduce Speed a bit, but I'm open to discuss it some more if you want because this isn't a super clear-cut case for me.

tbd 2: This is still super similar to Cinderace, kinda boring. Its moves are a lot weaker, but Fire Lash and Knock Off's utility make up for it. Might run into some power issues seeing as Libero is nerfed and it's relying on 80bp moves.

Psiloclash: I'm kinda worried this has too many ways to use PHeal between defense drops, Mortal Spin/Salt Cure to spread chip and Tidy Up for setup. The bulk is def pretty solid overall for something that heals 1/8 of its health each turn and can't be statused. Would consider nerfing its bulk personally.

Lanburn: I had thought of a Levitate Fire type before this slate and this does it pretty well. Its damage output is pretty insane, but between the middling Speed, awful physical bulk and Rock weakness, it should be manageable. Volt Switch is a pretty interesting option, some more flexibility is always appreciated. Might want to consider adding a bit to its flavor moves with stuff like Ember.

Iron Jaws: I'd reconsider Swords Dance on this seeing as it can already function as a pretty great glue with good defensive utility without it. You might be underestimating its bulk a bit, it's really good especially considering that Water/Fighting is a great typing. Basically, this isn't too far off from Urshifu-RS which is either broken or made borderline by the addition of Swords Dance. I'd rather see Bulk Up in its place if you want setup since that's easier to answer due to being slower to boost.

Thermtail: The typing is fine for a blanket special wall, though a lack of resistances means it might have trouble with some of the stronger attackers. Kinda worried about what could happen with Calm Mind/Nasty Plot+BoltBeam+Recover though, that seems like. lot to handle. In general, wouldn't recommend just slapping Ice coverage on Electric types.

Imposter in general is a bit of a niche option which idt works well in a micrometa. You can't really execute the concept badly, it's just an awkward one for this kind of mod. I'd say having a 4x Rocks weakness holds it back too much though, it just makes it a lot harder to work with. Maybe just make it 2x weak or make it part Flying instead to be Spikes immune.

Iron Cryogen: This has quite good offensive options for that SpAtk and Speed stat, but I like that its (horrible) defensive typing and middling overall bulk holds it back from finding too many switch-in opportunities. Having boltbeam and Ice/Ground coverage on an Ice type is also pretty interesting since, generally, Electric and Ground appreciate Ice's SE coverage rather than the other way around. It's still not easy to answer it as it can hit Waters, Steels and Fires thanks to its coverage and strong Psychics can be pretty hard to switch into. I doubt this is broken though, just a bit extreme. Main issue with it for me rn is it mostly just runs though our current mons so we'll need to add answers, but that's kinda whatever when we're at 3 mons.

Axpsycho: ...What in the name of god is this. I mean I guess it provides speed control if you really need it, but the small movepool is def gonna make it end up as a gimmick mon in people's eyes. Its role is also pretty limited aside from "fast physical attacker" so it's uninteresting for a weird mon. I can't say I like it, but I also couldn't tell you how to make it appealing without just making a new sub entirely. Keep it if you like it.

Acheroth: Surprisingly enough, Tinted Lens barely does anything for this since the only resist to Ghost is Dark which is already weak to Bug. This can do a lot of damage with Moongeist Beam and Calm Mind, but I think its defensive typing is too bad for its speed tier. I'd say moving 10 HP to Speed would help this work a bit better.

Aquaritric: This is probably not especially good seeing as this is like Rotom-Wash, but without what makes Rotom-Wash good, that being Levitate. There are a few more differences of course, like Calm Mind replacing Nasty Plot, but in general, I'd say this is just lacking tools. This would probably be fine with recovery and possibly options for the hazard games to make it a better defensive pivot. If you want to go for a more offensive role, I'd recommend looking into some abilities to boost its damage output, seeing as Swift Swim, while good, is unusable without a Drizzle user in the meta.

Trickspy: Illusion in general just kinda adds an unecessary undesired layer of mindgames to the metagame in my experience. Would just be better to replace it if possible because it's just undesirable for the metagame. As for the mon itself, No Retreat sweeper with STAB Wicked Blow is a lot, but it should be fairly manageable seeing as its coverage is quite bad. In general though, mons that just rely on one really strong STAB are a bit uninteresting and can be rather extreme. Could consider removing Wicked Blow, but adding Hyper Drill for secondary STAB. At that point though, I'd consider lowering its Attack by 10 or 15 points to make it harder for it to fully sweep/require more chip to do so. This mon has some potential, but Illusion and Wicked Blow might be undesirable and adding Normal STAB might help.

Blazenbull: Wallbreaker with some defensive utility is nice. Rocks weakness prevents it from properly just going CB and clicking buttons which is nice for something with STAB Espeed and Reckless-boosted STAB. No setup also makes this better in my eyes. Well balanced sub I'd say.

Jellectric: This is a nice defensive pivot, but probably should have support options. Stuff to help in the hazard game is always helpful, but also options like Haze, Heal Bell, Twave, Toxic or others can help it run more than Recover+3 attacks.

Avalope: You didn't mess too much with the concept of Mamoswine so this works. Overall bulk may be a bit high though, 90/60/90 is pretty high with Fur Coat for a mon with that STAB combo, so could consider lowering HP/Spdef a little. The concept works pretty well though.

Spydirge: The roles you described aren't really roles as Agility as sole setup isn't enough to properly sweep and status spreading tends to be an add-on that doesn't fit with a 111 spatk Moongeist Beam user. Honestly, this mon probably just nukes shit with Analytic-boosted Moongeist Beams and its good physical bulk. Seeing how powerful that is and since that might not be your main focus, you could consider removing Analytic and/or nerfing the bulk while adding options like Calm Mind to help make Agility sets more realistic.

Czarial: Walking Wake's movepool doesn't really lend itself well to a physical role, mostly you have Fire Fang and Low Kick as just okay coverage options, but you'll probably want to look into either better overall stats or a strong ability to make it easier for it to setup or sweep.

Gobblen: I like the idea, but it might have some trouble establishing a presence on the field with its lackluster bulk, so I'd say you could increase its Defense and HP a bit so it can properly make use of what it has since Spin, Knock, Taunt and Spikes off of that base speed can definitely make this a very interesting utility mon with some offensive and defensive presence.

Jagwise: It's nice to see someone actually using Normal typing, this should work pretty well as a fast NP breaker, I don't know if it needs that much SpDef, but if you're going for 600 BST, it's fine and it's not like the mon suffers from it.

Skoloboros: Dark/Dragon with Levitate can do a lot for teams I feel, I often want to add Hydreigon to many of my teams for this reason. On top of that, actual bulk with recovery and good utility just makes this splashable which is so nice. If I had to say though, you could consider making it a bit faster to make use of options like Taunt (I think it gets that?) more easily, Speed on defensive/support can be quite nice to have.

Jellamp: Magma Storm+Dire Claw+Pheal seems really insane to deal with for Stall, you kinda just need a Magic Guard mon... or your own Jellamp, but anyway. This is probably viable as is, but an option like Stone Axe could make it splashable, though I'd consider whether its abilities as a Stallbreaker are sufficient and if adding utility could make it too good.

Volchestra: That is probably too much SpAtk for STAB Boomburst, you'll have to tone it down at least 20 points since it hits very hard even with Boots. Aside from that, it's nice that this has a lot of options, not sure why Sticky Web is in there though, that seems like a pretty important aspect that you failed to mention in the description. It seems a bit strong for a move you could just slap on as a 4th option on an already scary breaker.

Moistie: Yeah I guess it works as a Protean mon, provides a hazard and removal too. Main thing I could see becoming an issue is its ability to run CB to spam 120BP moves between Wave Crash, Power Whip and Triple Axel, Cinderace is already pretty strong using high BP Protean moves, but it's limited by its Rocks weakness. It could be wise to remove some of its 120 BP options to be safe.

Insanic: As far as gimmick mons go, this is probably the best one I've seen so far. Just clicking Espeed and U-Turn is a decent enough playstyle tbh and Final Gambit can trade. The main issue is that it's just fast with... nothing else really. Does damage and pivots fast, but that's all that's interesting about the mon. Maybe you can find something else to make it more interesting?

Volcrab: This just seems like it'll have a lot of trouble in long games due to being Boots-locked, lacking recovery and having many weaknesses. Honestly the big issue for me is just its complete inability to restore any health. Even being able to use Leftovers would have been nice, but this doesn't even have it. This is a bit bulky for reliable recovery, but weirdly enough, I could see Leech Seed working. I'd understand if you'd rather not want that. You could also lower HP a bit and give it Recover or something. You can discuss this with me a bit, it's not an easy mon for me to wrap my head around and it seems a bit awkward to modify.

Gleavyr: This fills a basic Protean role well, not much to say there. Good offensive options, but Boots-locked, some nice support options, U-Turn. It should do what it's meant to do.

Impelli: This kinda has a worrying amount of coverage for me? Unburden Teatime+Petaya Berry with Psystrike/Armor Cannon/Springtide Storm just seems like a bit of a strong lategame sweeper. It's a pretty interesting Unburden sweeper or Lumina Crash breaker otherwise, but yeah coverage worries me a bit since it's high power. Maybe removing the clear hit on Dark types for special sets through Springtide Storm would make it fine. Mostly saying that since Armor Cannon just gets replaced with Sandsear Storm otherwise.

What a phenomenal sub. You should vote for this sub.

Lagoluyuna: I'm kinda worried about the bulk for something with STAB Ghost/Fighting and decent moves. Beating NP+Moongeist+Aura seems pretty tough already, but beating it on a mon with pretty impressive bulk and Moonlight on top just seems like too much. I doubt this mon can be balanced to work with fully defensive roles without becoming too hard to kill on offensive sets regardless. I guess removing Nasty Plot could help, but it'd still be annoying with Wisp+Moonlight. Anyway, prob drop HP a bit and Moonlight.

Grrilla: I like my Gorilla Tactics users and this seems fairly balanced. You could probably add some kind of coverage for Fairy types seeing as it's already prediction-reliant, but it could be something weaker like Barb Barrage.

Aquagon: The speed isn't that impressive, but ig it works because it has a lot of bulk. Abilities don't really need to be all that good either. It's probably a good mon, just mostly seems like what it does is pretty clear-cut.

Junglora: The movepool restriction needs its entire movepool to be Signature Moves to follow the proper restriction btw. In this case, you could probably lower attack to be below 100 to follow the stat restriction. anyway if we assume that, it should still be a nice defensive mon, though I think you could add some stuff to its movepool to make it bigger and to add options for the hazard game, like spin or rocks.

Basilife: 124 SpAtk is a bit high to be throwing out an option as strong as Moongeist Beam off of so maybe just lower it by 10? It still has options like Calm Mind and Nasty Plot to make it pretty scary, so I wouldn't worry about its damage output, it should be able to put in work.

This is probably balanced now, I just don't know why we'd add it when we have Batacomb. You already know what this mon does and you already know what to expect of it.

Coldesmaufou: I feel like we might have to veto this just by definition. If you want real feedback, 145 attack Glacial Lance is stupid.

That's it, I hope I was useful. Once again, you can ask me on discord if there's anything you'd like to discuss

Stats: 99 / 51 / 75 / 99 / 125 / 41 | 490
Weight: 0.6 kg
Movepool: Zap Cannon, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Cage, Discharge, Volt Switch, Parabolic Charge, Charge Beam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Brine, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb, Acid Spray, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Wild Charge, Wave Crash, Liquidation, Waterfall, Poison Jab, Thunder Wave, Eerie Impulse, Electric Terrain, Charge, Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Reflect, Light Screen, Calm Mind, Magic Coat, Mirror Coat, Nasty Plot, Recover, Refresh, Spikes, Stealth Rock

The offensive presence this Pokemon has is very comparable to Tapu Koko, but this also has Ice coverage and Nasty Plot plus substantially higher bulk at the cost of a Fairy typing. I'd like for you to get rid of Ice Beam and Blizzard, Icy Wind is okay and the rest of this Pokemon's attributes would make it good but likely not overbearing.

Fakemon Name: Aquaritric (Aquarium + Electric)
Set Number: 2 (Rotom-Wash)
Weight: 35 kg
Stats: 50/65/107/105/107/86 (BST 520)
Typing: Electric/Water
Abilities:
Drizzle, Volt Absorb, Filter
Movepool: Automotize, Brine, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Calm Mind, Chilling Water, Discharge, Flip Turn, Gen 9 Universals, Hydro Pump, Iron Defense, Iron Head, Muddy Water, Power Gem, Rain Dance, Sand Attack, Scald, Scorching Sands, Soak, Surf, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Water Pulse, Volt Switch
Description: Living Fishtank with a lot of automated features.

Drizzle with STAB Thunder and Hydro Pump is a bit concerning, that's a very powerful combination to give something that can Volt Switch away from its checks and also has a pretty solid defensive profile. I'd swap Drizzle out for another ability.

Set 1~ (Uses 51 Atk, 138 Def, and 111 SpAtk, and viably uses Moongeist Beam)
Name: Spydirge (spy + spider + dirge)
Type:
Ghost.png
Bug.png

Abilities: Sap Sipper, Compound Eyes, Analytic
Stats: 108 | 51 | 138 | 111 | 58 | 64 [BST = 530]
Movepool: Absorb, Agility, Bug Bite, Bug Buzz, Curse, Defog, Disable, Dream Eater, Fairy Wind, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Hex, Hydro Pump, Infestation, Leech Life, Light Screen, Mega Drain, Memento, Moonblast, Moongeist Beam, Night Shade, Ominous Wind, Pain Split Poison Powder, Pounce, Protect, Psybeam, Psychic, Rage Powder, Reflect, Rest, Screech, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Signal Beam, Silver Wind, Sludge Bomb, String Shot, Struggle Bug, Stun Spore, Toxic, Will-o-wisp
Weight: 41.8 kg
Competitive Role: Can use Compound Eyes for reliable status spreading, or have an offensive presence with Agility + Moongeist Beam.
Flavor: Daddy longlegs with a main body vaguely resembling a skull and eye pattering simliar to night vision goggles. Spydirges like to live in the dark corners of basements and attics, but despite their imposing appearance they are usually kept around because of their diet of common pests and molds.

That is a lot of physical bulk for something with Analytic and a powerful, spammable STAB move. I'd remove Analytic or lower the HP by a good amount.

Fakemon Name: Coldesmaufou

Fakemon Name: Plastrapus (Platapus + Astral)

Stats: 126 / 72 / 75 / 99 / 60 / 48 {BST: 480}
Typing: Water / Psychic
Abilities: Magic Bounce
Movepool:
  • Slack Off, Scald, Hydro Pump, Surf, Calm Mind, Psyshock, Psychic, Mystical Power, Cosmic Power, Calm Mind, Toxic, Teleport, Moonblast, Thunder Wave, Blizzard, Body Press, Body Slam, Brick Break, Curse, Disable, Drain Punch, Focus Blast, Foul Play, Future Sight, Ice Beam, Light Screen, Liquidation, Shadow Ball, Hex, Yawn, Zen Headbutt, Trick, Waterfall, Aqua Tail, Amnesia, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Block, Confusion, Bite, Crunch, Growl, Leer, Fling, Heal Pulse, Helping Hand, Icy Wind, Hyper Beam, Imprison, Metronome, Mud Shot, Muddy Water, Psybeam, Psychic Terrain, Psych Up, Rain Dance, Skill Swap, Snowscape, Stomp, Tackle, Take Down, Water Pulse, Water Gun
Description: MBounce mon. Solid bulk and can be quite threatening if provided setup opportunities and has a solid amount of utility to boot.

Boosting moves, Magic Bounce, and reliable recovery are a very powerful combination. Would get rid of either Slack Off or the boosting moves.
