"Fishing" the GTS pool

There's probably a couple of different ways of mass trading on the GTS. My favorite is the one I call "fishing".

Basically, clone the crap out of a legend and put it up on offer, asking for whatever you want in return.

By fishing, in the course of a couple days I've gotten 7 Deoxys, 1 Groudon, and about 4 Celebi. All crap unfortunately, but I should be able to find a good one in due time.

Have any other people here tried fishing in the past? Do you have any success stories?

BTW, if any of you are searching the GTS and see a level 73 Palkia with the offerer called Jiggy, please give me something good!
 
I have got a few good things from the GTS. These are the estimates of their IV's:

1) Calm Mew: 21/5/23/14/31/25. Quite usuable

2) Japanese Sassy Suicune: 28/30/27/12/31/28

3) Cressilia Impish: 28/25/18/31/29/22. Bad nature, but can't pass-up those IV's.
 
high level blisseys usually get me anything I want in return as I've offered for the likes of ho-oh, deoxys and even level 100 palkias from them.
 
I've never done that, but I have managed to chain trade between several people to get from a Meowth to a Palkia. I'm not sure of the IVs, because I don't have my DS with me, but I've gone from common Pokemon to legends many times.
 
I've fished in the past. Snagged me a decent Giratina and Normal Deoxys.

Planning on doing it again for those harder to obtain legendaries. ;)
 
i got like 12 lugia, 10 deoxys (3 shiny!!, but one had 31s across the board so it may be a hack), 15 celebii, 5 jirachi, 15 mew, and some other stuff. i have not been able to get anyone to check most if the ivs of them.

lol. i had a hacked lugia and celebii on emerald (i did not hack it), cloned it, traded it for real lugias and celebiis, traded them to people on serebii for stuff like mew. then got loads of mews. you can have some free pokemon if you want for your pokedex if you are on now.

Has anyone ever tried gtsplus.net? You can search and get pretty specific too. But it seems like people there don't know or care much about ivs so that's kind of a drawback.Edit: I just looked around more and it has tons of shinies.
 
Aw, I want a Speed Deoxys so bad! If I had clones of Celebi I bet I could do it... whats the best Deoxys you have found so far?
 
I actually stopped looking for Deoxys and moved to Celebi. actually, I'm fishing for Cresselia right now.

Interesting thing. I saw a level 73 Palkia on the GTS asking for a 70+ Palkia. Did the trade, and it was my own Palkia, lol.

I do't have any good Deoxys yet, but I do have this Celebi.

Whats the best Deoxyis you have found, if you're finding stuff with 20+ in some stats, I'm gonna start looking. BTW, where can I "see" deoxys so that it's in my dex?

It doesn't need 31 HP to SubSeed. It would to have an effective Calm Mind set though.

All my Deoxys are pretty crap right now.
 
101 HP subs = dead blissey... that's what I use my Celebi for. I switch into blissey, leech seed and sub... and calm mind until they realize it's over, and switch or disconnect.
 
"Fishing" is the only way to trade. Before I got my AR, I used to trade six Mewtwos over from my Emerald, then put them up for Dialgas and Palkias. It sucked. But now I make sure to fill a box with six Dialgas, six Palkias, a Suicune, an Entei, two Deoxys', and a Jirachi. I quite often get a few things worth testing.
 
Just pulled a 30 Sp.ATK/30 Spd Jolteon from the GTS...nicknamed "Money"...Modest Nature...with the EGG move Fake Tears...for my EV Trained Bold Manaphy.

A good trade if I say so myself, although I havent found out the Hidden Power details yet...
 
I don't mess around with the GTS that often and if I do I don't "fish". If I want something I usually offer up a legend that I have multiples of.
