SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

It's upsetting that fake leaks can't even bother to be consistent with official flavour or info for their move descriptions.

I really don't think they'd go through the trouble of removing Pursuit entirely in Gen 8 only to re-add it as a TM in Gen 9

Also no fucking way in hell that the dipplin evo of all things gets 600 BST lmfao
Vigoroth has BST of 440, and we all know what that evolves into, dont we.
Y'all forgetting Sky Drop was removed in Gen 9?
So I re-read the Serebii preview, and assuming this is an actual, officially localized move name, the removal of the 16-characters limit of move names is quite a big deal.
Sixteen characters is enough for many creative move names, but as someone who regularly creates plenty of new moves, this limit does restrict the possibilities a little bit.
Definitely Localized
Also, is no one talking about a supposed TM for Snap Trap? Ynow, the Grass Type signature move of the Ground/Steel type Galarian Stunfisk?

This Pastebin seems part fake and part real, Supercharged Cell sounds like a boosting move, and some of the moves do have a few inconsistencies, but it could also be very fake. What doesn't convince me its completely fake is the amount of detail they go into, which makes me have doubts about my doubt. Again, its probably fake, but it might not be.

Duraludon has 120 base Special Attack

Vigoroth has BST of 440, and we all know what that evolves into, dont we.
Slaking is special because it has a gimmick: the BST of a legendary Pokémon, but horribly detrimental Ability.
This could also be true for Dipplin 2: the Squeakquel.
Also, is no one talking about a supposed TM for Snap Trap? Ynow, the Grass Type signature move of the Ground/Steel type Galarian Stunfisk?
That wasnt the red flag for me, it was TM Snap Trap
I thought this one made sense. I remember people saying this move feels generic enough to be used by other Pokémon.
  1. Archaludon
  2. Typing: Steel / Dragon
  3. Abilities: Stamina / Sturdy / Stalwart
  4. HP / ATK / DEF / SPA / SPD / SPE
  5. 85 / 105 / 120 / 125 / 65 / 55
This feels fake as hell, Duraladons SpA is 135
Ninjask'd by woodgoldtwo, Duraludon's SpA is 120.
That said, this statline stinks. Speed taking a hit is one thing, that's not uncommon among evolutions, but none of the other stats increase much.
Going from a BST of 535 to a presumed 555 sucks. For context, there's a BST increase of 50 when :rhydon:Rhydon evolves into :rhyperior:Rhyperior, and when :scyther:Scyther evolves into :scizor:Scizor, at least the Atk and bulk increase was visible despite an identical BST.

oh, right, forgot. Still, only a +5? Seems a bit unlikely

The duraladon and "Iron Tines" stats seem fake as hell, but only 3 weeks time will tell. Hopefully time says otherwise, we dont need 104 Speed and 168 Attack, like, if thats real, what was Gamefreak smoking, and how do I get some? (I jest, I don't smoke or do drugs.)

Leaker would not start by soxxing themselves lmao. Also sky drop is never coming back. Even without it's history of glitchiness, it's potential for stalling and trolling far outweighs it's legitimate use
They brought back Sand Tomb and Spite as TMs, who both have basically no legitamate use. They also have TM Fire Spin, Disarming Voice and Fake Tears, so I would disagree with that train of logic. I agree that Sky Drop isnt coming back, but saying that "useless" moves wont come back is incorrect, they have already brought back some of these "useless" moves as TMs.
Personally I think the idea that Dipplin evo’s signature move and ability both being tied to the fact that it maybe sort of has a chance of being connected to a poison type legendary is unlikely, considering then it’s gameplay would not reflect the fact is has 8 damn heads LOL
Yeah, but then again, Galarian Stunfisk is Ground/Steel and its signature moves type is Grass Type, its not completely out of the picture

Some move distrubution anomalies;
Electro Shot: Its stated (I think) that it is Archaludons Signature Move, I dont think they would give it to other Pokemon.
Hard Press: Strange, I cant find any
Hold Still: Why would Rillaboom have this move?
Love Bite: I see 3 FE Fairy types on that list, and Whimsicott is one of them.
Psychic Noise: Why just A-Tales, and why just Zoroark-H?
Supercharged Cell: Why does Reshiram have it?
Upper Hand: So explain why Fezendipiti and only the Bloodmoon form or Ursaluna get it? And Kleavor, it hath no hands

Why, no other Pokémon with multiple heads has an ability that refers to such.

You are aware that only certain forms getting certain moves is fairly common for Pokémon with unchangeable forms, right?
Also Upper Hand isn't about hands, it's about getting the upper hand, it doesn't require actually having hands.

Animation is a goddamn palm strike, you can see why my brain would go that way. And yes, I am aware of how these unchangeable forms work, I'm not an idiot, as well as the fact that I realise BM is upright, thats why it could use Upper Hand.

I'm hoping the leak is fake for the sole reason that Archaludon doesn't feel like an evolution to Duraludon, at least not to the same extent that other evolutions like Ursaluna and Kingambit do when compared to their pre-evolutions. That being said, 85 / 120 / 65 is actually a drastic improvement over 70 / 115 / 50 in terms of bulk, at least on the special side. Here are a few calcs I did.

252+ SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Duraludon: 271-319 (96.4 - 113.5%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Archaludon: 222-262 (71.3 - 84.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Duraludon: 169-199 (49.1 - 57.8%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Archaludon Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Archaludon: 147-174 (39.3 - 46.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Like, its still not great, but considering Duraludon's biggest issue as a steel-type was its middling bulk, getting a 20% - 30% boost roughly to its special bulk goes a long way.

However, Duraludon being faster, being able to use Eviolite, and having almost as much firepower would mean that Archaludon would need drastic movepool buffs in addition to having an actually useful ability (which it thankfully is already confirmed) in order to feel like an Evolution rather than a sidegrade.

Signs are pointing to the leak being cap though. Why would a TPCi employee know all these technical details, yet purposely obfuscate others? Doesn't make sense.

I remember just 2 weeks roughly before the Teal Mask dropped there was also a Pastebin AND Poképaste leak showing the new Pokémon and stats and TMs etc. and it was all fake

We're doing this again? Haven't we learned yet that every pastebin is automatically fake unless it's posted by SciresM or Kaphotics?
The release-day Centro stat spreads for the Teal Mask new mons and forms looked just as fake, but they turned out to be real.

Forgot to mention this earlier, but the Pastebin claiming that the Blueberry Dex contains 247 mons instead of the much rounder 200 (the number of Pokemon in the Kitakami Dex) or 250 also looks very suspicious to me.

The pastebin also gives Psychic Noise’s move description as “The user telepathically tortures the target with auditory hallucinations,” which strikes me as pretty alarming and unlikely to be real, as I highly doubt that TPC would want the word “torture” in a move description.

That being said, I’ll give ‘em credit for the name “Storming Ash” for Paradox Entei. It’s not an amazing name by any means, but it neatly resolves the issue I had several pages ago about trying to make a fire-themed Paradox name that could fit into 12 character spaces, by leaning into Entei’s preexisting volcano theming.

Yeah, I'd expect they use torment, like "The user telepathically torments the target with auditory hallucinations," which is much more likely, but if they use torture instead of torment, I feel like Part 2 is getting rated T. Or maybe not
EDIT: This poor guy fell for the fake Pastebin
And so did ADrive, but that isnt that suprising

You know, if people really want a smoking gun that this is fake, the fact that Bronzong learns neither Psychic Noise (despite being one of the less than 20 Pokémon that could actually learn Heal Block) nor Hard Press seems like one to me.
I agree this is fake, but remember. This is the same company that didn't give Zamazenta Body Press until one Gen later and didn't give the mon who uses the shield of a king....King's shield.
