Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Crawdaunt is pretty notoriously difficult to switch into, so the pool of options is pretty shallow. Bulky grasses such as Tangrowth and defensive Toxic Heal Breloom can handle Choice Band Craw and it's stabs pretty well - tho if you see Life Orb immediately be wary of Sludge Bomb, some daunts...
There is some merit to this, Lucario in particular has gotten a lot of talk and attention as a potentially big benficiary of Gar being removed from the tier. And for good reason, CC, Mash, and Espeed is a very potent combination that very few mons can hold up against after a SD. Gar's speed...
It's about time for this ghost to get busted.
I've said most of what I wanted to say about Gar a couple of times during and after the Mana test ended, so to keep from being a broken record I'll just link a quote so I don't have to write more essays on what I've already said.
Long story short...
Mantine from B- to C, maybe even Un-Ranked.
Mantine's biggest role and main reason for seeing use was being one of the few reliable defensive answers to Manaphy. Now that the blue blob is gone it's lost it's premier niche. It's still a sp.def wall with recovery, defog, and haze with a water...
I mentioned with the sticky webs bit that the styles weren't dead, just the loss of Manaphy hurts them a notable degree. Didn't feel writing it out a 2nd time for the screens portion because I thought it was sufficient and clear, guess it wasn't :/
To clarify: yes they still function and have...
Well Manaphy's departure from OU is unfortunate. While I genuninely don't think it was the problem that needed addressing right now, the majority rules and I have to accept that verdict (coming down to the very last vote to decide it's fate, wild ride).
Let's start with the losers of this...
Overflowing from the suspect thread to here to give my thoughts on the (likely) upcoming Gengar quickban. While I do sympathize with the folks not wanting to quickban something after the early stages of the tier and other mons before it were given proper suspect tests, I think Gengar is worthy...
This is far from the first time I've seen folks making this honest mistake (and I've unfortunately also had a few sour apples rage about it on the ladder thinking something was wrong/broken with Showdown while piloting my own Shedinja team when they tried it). To help stem this bit of seemingly...
My opinion on Manaphy has drastically changed from around a month ago - when I was so dead set on wanting it out of the tier. But now... I'm not so sure. The meta has developed into a more concrete shape and that shape has adapted to Manaphy far better than I anticipated. It's brought to life...
Bold is help take physical hits better. It can pivot into threats like Infernape, Starraptor, Feraligatr, and Mamoswine a lot better with more investment and last throughout a game.
Timid has some use for outspeeding certain targets, like Breloom while using less investment, but is primarily...
Depends on the type of team you're building. The beauty of Clef is that is that you can tailor it to fill whatever need you need since its so versatile. If you've got solid special bulk on your team already then you can go with a more physically bulky varriant to handle that side of the meta -...
Just a heads up that Skill Swap doesn't work on Shedinja, Wonder Guard is one of the few abilities immune to the move. It cannot be copied or taken outside of being Traced. Had a few folks try it on me when I was running a Shedinja team during the Lati suspect.
That bit of corrected information...
