• OP would be something like:

list of cool things genny has done with me:
uhhhh nothing i guess

hi can i make a thread in dst titled: "genny is the worst bro ever he doesn't even talk to me anymore =( and we dont go and play catch and stuff neither"
If you don't mind me asking, would it be okay if I made a thread about the U-Turn/Volt Switch Teams, their prevalence in the metagame, how to stop them, etc, in DST? I figured it could be a bit too specific/wouldn't create enough discussion, so I figured I'd run it by you first.
ok, maybe something along the lines of a sandveil/snowcloak ban under evasion clause and a garchomp unban could work but it is fairly complicated, i would appreciate it if you could mention something about rough skin garchomp in the policy review thread,

Thanks, looking forward to playing the revamped dw tier!
for the dw tier discussion in policy review i was wondering if you could propose that rough skin garchomp be allowed on the tier, it seems perfectly fair and will give some insight to wether garchomp can return to ou when rough skin is released/sand veil banned

Thanks :)
Hi Gen. I'd like to ask a quick question. There are item threads on the choice items, three of the most influential items in the metagame. If item threads with insightful OPs are okay, I'd like to ask permission to start a thread on another influential item that's possibly even more important: the Life Orb. Crosses physical/special lines, provides power at the cost of HP, its best users being the ones who can get around the cost, and it is the push that made gen IV so much more offensive than gen III: a popular item that provided a very significant power boost to all attacks without locking its user into a single move was unheard of before. May I have your permission?
Mamoswine can KO Volcarona, Starmie, Vaporeon, & Reuniclus before they can OHKO him? And Weavile can KO Volcarona & Vaporeon? And they can switch-in on ANY of the Pokemon I listed without running the risk of being OHKO'd?!

Well golly gee willikers, Gen. Emp, I wish I would have tested them more than I did before I made my high-placing Sun team! Gee whiz, don't I feel foolish?!
Hey Genny, do you mind if I post a Choice Band/Specs thread? I know there likely isn't as much to talk about compared to Choice Scarf, but I think there could be some good discussion from the two items.
While that is true, I definitely think that different areas of Smogon should function with different governmental structures and I don't see any immediate problems in allowing the people of DST to pick who they think is the best poster in DST
Smogon is a competitive Pokémon forum, which means we create tiers for competitive play, and tiers are decided by a popular vote of people who aren't necessarily in a position of authority, so in other words, it's democratic. So if the idea of the website is based around a form of democracy, I don't see why that should fail to apply to other areas as well. Authority deciding on the "poster of the month" will just promote bias as far as I'm concerned and possibly not fulfill the will of the majority of the people who use Dragonspiral to begin with. But it's not my call
Actually no. There's not a single Pokemon that does it better than Snorlax. There's no Pokemon that comes in and 1-2HKOs Volcarona, Latios, Chandelure, Thundurus, Tornadus, Starmie, Latias, Vaporeon, Gorebyss, Reuniclus, Quagsire, Heatran, & Politoed while they can't KO back. Just to name a few, and that's just with Return & Pursuit. Yeah, Heatran gets handled by a few Returns unless it can burn Snorlax so I could care less about Balloon Heatran. Snorlax can fill the last 2 move slots with Fire Punch, Ice Punch, or Earthquake to body Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Gliscor, & Tyranitar respectively.

Fighting-types are a problem, but that sure as hell doesn't stop Tyranitar from being people's #1 choice. If you look at the list, what LOVES having all those Pokemon gone? Gliscor. What does Gliscor do for Snorlax? You see where I'm going.

Bad and underrated are entirely different things. It's by trying underrated things that we evolve the metagame.
And to be fair, that's a REALLY narrow-minded way to think about Claydol and really any Pokemon. Scarf Infernape, Mienshao, and all of them are useless without Volcarona around? Why are you even posting in the Choice Scarf thread if that's your thought process? Even Claydol shits all over Gliscor & Landorus, I mean come on. I'm far to well-read in Pokemon to let you get away with that.
Don't even get me started about Snorlax. Please don't. Choice Band Snorlax is very good on OU but very underrated. Funny you should mention Sun because Snorlax is my Volcarona, Latios, & Starmie counter on my Sun team. You've seen my RMT.

Volcarona's not exactly threatening without a boost. Especially defensive versions which is just as popular as offensive. If I have a Heatran or Politoed on my team and a then a Scarf Mienshao or something, you're not going to attack right out of the box. And if you might, from my experience, most other people don't. It's a risky move but there's the same amount of risk on the Volca's side. If you've taken SR damage, I KNOW you will boost because you can't afford to have Politoed switch in & force you out. And to be entirely fair, if Volcarona is going to sweep my team because it came in on a Pokemon that can't do anything to it if I don't switch, I have nothing to lose.
so genny
you locked this thread because of a bad OP
may I make another one with a better OP?
It'll be more about how the recent bans have affected stall's viability as well as what pokes can actually beat stall. Is that alright with you?
Why'd ya lock the 'worst battling moments in 5th gen' thread? It took you 34 pages to notice it isn't really to do with competitive battling?

Also, I quite liked reading about others' misfortune, and as I'd imagine, so would most of the other members here. Besides, it's a decent thread in my opinion, and what other category would it go in? You've made yourself plenty of enemies by closing that thread... stupid smoky joe, all that tar seems to has risen into your brain...
If you don't mind, could you delete one of my stupid groups I made, Apple>Microsoft?
If not, that's okay.
yo genny I saw the new announcement, and just wanted to suggest pokemondb.net under 'dexes'.
