  • Greetings Pinka! The teams you make are simply awesome... I enjoy thema lot, also you made rain super interesting...Would you please consider seeing a team that I built and say me whether to use a tran or a melm cuz bliss and CM clef just destroy the team...
    Melm

    Illusion master 2365
Btw this team took me to 1526+, But then I saw a cm clef destroying it.. So i asked you for an advice, Anyways you are rlly great builder dude, Keep it up!

Thanks for the compliments. :) I like Melmetal here, but you've got to adjust your set. Running max HP isn't great for AV, check the smogon spread. Also, given your weakness to Ghost, a Specially Defensive Protect Leftovers Heatran with Heavy Slam could also take care of the Clefable isssue.

Oo Pinka thank you si much I will sirely try it out :)
Hi Pinkacross, thanks for your contributions, they breathe lots of inspiration in me. Would you mind looking at this team and giving a quick rate? It's an upgraded version of an RMT I posted here following suggestions I was given there.

I actually like Melmetal alot. it's defensive utility and para-flinch hax got me out of a few bad situations lol. But on the other hand, I've liked kartana's speed tier and coverage in other games. but on the flip side, i've liked the freedom of switching moves with melmetal, and haven't faced a banded weavile yet, but i faced a hdb weavile team wih the kartana version and it was manageable.

    Pinkacross
Sounds good, keep up testing and see how it goes! I'd say this is definitely a 2000s level team either way
    Lord Xen III
yeah I'm honestly loving both versions of the team haha! Thanks a lot and I hope to face more playstyles later, namely Rain and Banded Weavile
Hi pinkacross, this is my first attempt at team building. Before this, I would use your RMTs. I feel that my team has a lot of holes in it. I'm trying to make a voltturn team, but it isn't really working out.

https://pokepast.es/12e7104572710b9c Any advice on improving this team would be helpful. Thanks!

Pick a fun new pokemon you like and try to build around that, is what I'd recommend. Say, Exploud or whatever you like.

No problem. I'd love to see the team when finished, so feel free to send! :]
hello pink, it is i, the guy that doesn't know how to teambuild yet again searching for guidance
    https://pokepast.es/d4746ac65d1dd4df
tryin to make a hazard stack team

new to this aswell, would like to know which mons appreciate hazard stack the most (i was thinkin weavile, bisharp, zapdos, urshifu)
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Slowking + Weavile would be nice there... which would make it my leki hstack RMT team.
    VHasComeTo
    VHasComeTo
i guess it would wouldn't it? but i can't think of any other mons that put hazards n stuff, maybe gardchomp?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
To be honest if you already have those 4 mons, I'd try to restructure. I think the optimal team for those 4 is already found.
    Hi Pinkacross!
i've been using some of your teams for a while and i just started to get into teambuilding myself!
I made one of my first good teams: https://pokepast.es/3d4949cb070c64fc
but i'm extremely weak to darks and ghosts. Any advice about how I could improve this team would be extremely helpful!
    ty in advance <3

    blooclipse
i mostly struggle with barraskewda and kingdra, wrong mons lol
they outspeed everything and I don't really know how to beat them without changing a member of my team or really good prediction
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Yea basically prediction is the key. You have Volcanion, if that's not sufficient perhaps you can sneak in a Rillaboom somewhere...

Yo Pinkacross, love ur team and ideas, I and Mimikyu Stardust build this team but HO and Semi-stalls are blasting through it. I dropped from 1800s to 1550 using it, any suggestions to improve it. https://pokepast.es/c535b101313bec5c
The core is Victini + Koko. Any advice is really appreciated.
    it's me again!!
after multiple attempts at getting to the high ladder i dropped that team and decided to do it the old way (rain)
and i have two questions for you:
1.is rain viable atm? or is it gimmicky? i don't see it a lot imo
2.https://pokepast.es/17557fb74ef09c0e just made this team with goltres and im feeling p confident bout it
    any critcism is greatly appreciated
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Rain is very good, and this rain team looks good.
    VHasComeTo
    VHasComeTo
update: after some games i changed seismitoad for specs modest kingdra (faster than kart and not that weak to grass and flip turn)
tho i also wanted to used banded shifu/ LO crawdaunt
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
If you do that you lose to Regieleki and all other strong Electric types, I wouldn't recommend that.
hellou pink, me yet again trying to make a non rain team:
here i have two versions of it
    V1:https://pokepast.es/06cf8d04bdebd6e3
V2:https://pokepast.es/7e95a0ecedd113b0 (this one i made after finding kart very inconsistent due to not being able to break thru teams)
i found myself not having a lot of ofensive presence
changing clef and stuff would be nice and i would love to have your guidance
    VHasComeTo
    VHasComeTo
btw changed inci with boots blissey since i need that special wall ASAP
    VHasComeTo
    VHasComeTo
ended up removing both corvi, clef and adding band to rilla and have no idea how to proceed
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Try to focus on the pokemon things like Rillaboom and Swampert bring in. Switch spam teams are very viable, but you need to be looking at how each pokemon flows into the others. Remove momentum drains and make sure you have good removal (Tornadus, for example).
My friend, I really love your teams and hope that you'll continue to build them.

That being said, I haven't seen an HO team from you as such (your teams are usually BO). What are your thoughts on HO in SS OU? Is it just a gimmick, or it could actually be good in high ladder?

Also, I was building a DD Dragapult HO. Would you mind helping me? I'll DM the team paste if needed.
hai hai pikacross! here's i team i made some days ago and it's been doin really well but i feel it could use some improvent and since im new to building non-weather teams i was thinking that you could help me
    https://pokepast.es/4a8494515a3bd3fe
im very weak to zeraora, kart, the clown and stuff but i really can't tell what to add/remove
anyways, thank u in advance :quagchamppogsire:
    Pinkacross

Lele is quite scary as well. Team looks pretty solid but I'd personally go Slowking or Slowbro over Glowking.
    VHasComeTo
    VHasComeTo
i see i see, i'll change it to slowking and i was thinkin about using hydreigon and maybe some other mon, any ideas?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Other than that nothing comes to mind, team looks solid.
Hello, Pinkacross. I am a big fan of your teams and team building ideas. I was wondering if you could help with a cb crawdaunt rain team (inspired by ur full rain team) I am currently at 1350ish and can’t tell what I need to fix . here is the team.
    https://pokepast.es/1723e844cfea735d
    Tgufyru
Also, what moves should I run on barraskewda. Liquidation, flip turn, close combat and poison jab?(for hitting fairy types) since I don’t have slowking galar anymore
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Physic Fangs, Crunch, or Aqua Jet in my opinion as the last slot over Poison Jab.
    Tgufyru
    Ok thanks
Hey Pinkacross!! I loove the teams you make... You are such a great builder!! Anyways the problem am facing is with is - I was on 1634 ladder but now am on 1400s , actually am using multiple teams but they aren't that perfect, So can you pls help me with rectifying it-
    https://pokepast.es/d2ac01291def87e6
Hey Pinkacross, I've seen from your RMTs that you enjoy making teams based off of a Pokemon that is barely used and I would like you to help me improve this team :D Sand PsySpam Please let me know your thoughts. I've been using this team around the 1400s and its been pretty good.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Honestly this team is not viable at a top level, AV Ttar isn't very good, you have almost no breaking power, and you have an Alolan Raichu without Tapu Koko. I'd recommend putting Tapu Koko over Tapu Lele and using Rising Voltage, this won't make the team top-level viable but it will improve it and utilize Alolachu better. GL! :)

Thanks so much for your help :D I'll try them out!
Yo Pinkacross, this team is a mono bug team for National Dex AG! Sadly I can't make it normal National Dex cause of Pheromosa, but this team has been working pretty nice so far. Bug buzz pierces through subsitute baton pass teams! You may not be familiar with AG Formats but what are your thoughts?

    Hey there Pinkacross!
Back at it again with another team (Banded Weavile Balance)
hopefully you Could give me some improvements on the team and if u have some extra time test it on high ladder for me as I’m 1500 rn. https://pokepast.es/11d45627444dc875
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
The team defintely needs more Offense. You have the offensive capability of a stall or semistall without the bulk. Passivity is the main issue. An average balance can break your team, but your team cannot break an average balance. Try to fit in more offense (and Yawn Gastrodon helps it be less passive!)
    Blareglare
    Blareglare
Thanks for the feed back, after a couple games I started losing to other balance teams as I couldn’t break them like you said.
I decided to change toxic for yawn instead on gastrodon like you suggested and decided to change garchomp into a scarf set for more breaking power , speed control and a end game cleaner.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
You still may have issues breaking, you may need to replace Garchomp with another Choice Band or Specs breaker, but testing first is always a good idea.
Hey Pinkacross, I took your advice regarding my pert and ttar team suggestion and this is what I came up with. Hoping for some feedback but personally it's a fun team to use. Reached 1500s with it https://pokepast.es/0d72372cc35f00ff
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This team certainly has some solid cores and interesting ideas, but I don't think it would have much success in high ladder. This team lacks speed control, and notably has no solid answers to a Swords Dance Kartana. A Nasty Plot Tornadus, Swords Dance Weavile, and other fast setup sweepers are alos extremely threatening. I'd restructure to make the team more offensive since you already have Aurora Veil.
    Pinkacross

P.S. for this much info it'd be easier to start a Conversation for future reference.

Thank you!! I'll take your advice!
Hello Pinkacross, I'm kinda new to Pokemon Showdown(started last week), tried some OU sample teams and some of your teams, enjoyed playing them. Was hoping if you have a team with Bisharp in it (Love that Sword Blade Pokemon). And what kind of team would you recommend for new players (like HO, BO, etc.). Advance thanks for the help.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I do have a Bisharp team, though I currently have to keep the sets secret as it will likely be used in some upcoming tournaments. Once those have passed I'll let you know. As for playstyle, I'd highly recommend balance for newer players. Learning to play aggressively while also sustaining walls is great for teaching the basic elements of the game. For VERY new players I'd recommend HO or Rain as it is easier.

Hi, thanks for the recommendations. Excited to know your Bisharp team.
Hello, Sorry to bother you but I've been using several of your teams (thanks for them btw!) and I've especially been liking your flame charge blacephalon team. However, IK it's from an outdated time, so I'm wondering if you feel that it could do with any updating (didn't want to necro the thread). Thank you!
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'm glad you enjoy my teams! I think I'll get around to updating the Blacephalon team eventually, but if you like you can also attempt it yourself. The starting core of Blacephalon + Specs Lele is definitely still viable I feel, and Flame Charge Blacephalon can certainly still sweep teams. It ws a fun project and I'll be sure to contact you if I'm able to find a good, working version for the current meta. :)
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Looks mostly pretty good, though I'd personally restrucutre to avoid using Corviknight. It's quite bad on balances generally, and it does a mediocre job of removing hazards.
Hi Pinkacross. Happy New Year. Hope you are well.

I had a rain team that done well on ladder for me until now (took me from 1400s to 1762). Do you mind rating it ? - https://pokepast.es/1877893f6fe45118
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This is a solid rain, I'm very impressed. I can't find any big errors. One small criticism is that a lot of your team can be dealt with individually and with different checks-- a Weavile for the Garchomp, a Spdef wall (Hippo, Tar) for Zapdos, and a Slowbro for Barraskewda, for example. Crawdaunt and Skewda pressure nicely in this regard, but Zapdos and Chomper are independent.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Try testing and see if it continues going well. Overall, I really like the team. :)
    agslash23
Thanks for the feedback. I could perhaps try Yache on Chomp, and so far Ferro has done a good job vs Weavile. As for Sand, I agree that the setters wall Zap, but outplaying them worked so far. But yeah, since I'm in 1800s now, some things may or may not work. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the rate, and looking forward to your next RMT
Hello! I used to play PS (and mostly ou) religiously, but took a break for most of gen 8. I have been struggling to climb the gen 8 ou ladder, though I have found your teams (especially your rain team) to be really fun. Do you have any recommendations for teams that will do well on the ladder?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Well the rain is great for ladder, it got me to #1. I'd advise patience, and focusing on having fun, and your past skills will return as you learn the metagame. Focusing on reaching higher ELO can make the game stressful. Still, if you really want to climb ladder, I'd use HO from 1000-1700 (the OxTheFox sample would be good) and use solid balances/offenses for 1700+.
Hey, I am a pretty new player. Started playing pokemon showdown like 3 weeks ago and i really love creating teams, it feels much more rewarding then using samples. I post them on the rating teams page and i appreciate the community for giving constructive critiscm and stuff, but alot of them say to use sample teams and i don't find it as fun..do you have any basic team building tips? Thanks!

No HO team is all that good right now, they're extremely inconsistent. That being said, this team seems decent. You've got some cores that can threaten most teams, though I'd give Alakazam Shadow Ball over Dazzling Gleam. Helps against Lele and Shedinja.
