  • Hi Pinkacross, recently got into Pokemon Showdown. Been playing around with some teams, but have been having the most success with this Sun Team. Gotten as high as 1600, but kind of hit a wall there. Let me know what you think, and if Sun is viable in gen 9 OU

    Sun is definitely viable. Run Choice Specs Wake here, running Spatk boosting Scarf is really not great, and your team is already quite fast. I'd rather run +Speed CB Roaring Moon.

    Mostly you misplayed Alomomola here. You had no reason to play the game so fast, you kept trying to put on offensive pressure at the expense of your team's health. Instead you should have played slowly and kept your team (Dragapult and Ting-Lu in particular) healthy with Alomomola Wish support.

    Hey Pinkacross, I love to use scarf samurott hisui, but I am not sure how to build around it, by testing I think rillabom band its actually pretty good with him but I dont know what else to add, here a team i build but i dont think its great

    This team is extremely weak to Great Tusk, Ice Spinner + Headlong Rush is a very difficult MU. This team also doesn't abuse hazards particularly well, try putting Hrott on an Offense team that wants Spikes.

    Rhypherior is designed to outspeed Hydrapple, and Tera Bug is for its resistances + STAB on Megahorn. I would like your thoughts and improvements for this team if possible. Thanks!

    I don't think Rhyperior is viable honestly, but I'd recommend Tera Blast Ice over Megahorn.

    I've been trying to build a team around Fezandipiti after I saw storm zone mention it in ou chat. In theory this team functions as intended and fezand has been super helpful against zama, dpult, ival etc., but I feel like there's still room for improvement.     True, that's a good point. Perhaps running Specs Enam and CB Dnite just isn't sustainable, at least not with current support. Perhaps replace Enam with something stronger against HO, and go Hydrapple over Dnite-- this team is weak to Wellspring to the point where you need a super solid answer

    Yeah I'll consider that but another thing I am considering is replacing Alo since that is the main root of my Wogerpon weakness. Plus I don't think it is as important as the other members but I'm not sure
    Hi pinka! big fan of your videos, And I watch a lot of your streams. Can you tell me how to improve this crawduant rain team ive been working on? I was trying to get crawdaunt to work in OU, It was by no means a full rain team, But kind of a side core I could use.

    I don't think Crawdaunt is viable on OU rain, but this doesn't exactly feel like a Rain team-- I would recommend deciding whether to go full or semi rain first, full Rain definitely needs Damp Rock Pelipper and shouldn't have a Chilly Reception Glowking, for example.

    Hi Pinka! Using a neat core of RM/Mol/Crown to resist the type chart, but having trouble slotting in the other three. Current version has Rilla as prio, Alo as a cleric, and Tusk as strong ground dmg, but currently having trouble against fast s.atkers since Crown folds to mons like Darkrai/Pult, along with slotting in s. dmg for zama and such. Open to any suggestions!

    You have no SR setter, which is a major problem. RM needs it to break, BADLY. Go SR on Tusk over BU, as for the Darkrai issue there's no easy fix, I'd go CB pult over Roaring Moon

    I tried building around kyurem and banded tusk and went with more of an offensive team. I topped 1790 with it so far and it feels decent. Kyurem does a good job at breaking the more fat teams, but I have lost to HO a lot during these ladder sessions and I don't know if it's me or this team. Would love your opinion and advice on the team!

    I can see why HO is scary, you're essentially using a very old team that struggles against a lot of current-meta sweepers. Try removing Tusk for Landorus, and you may also need to replace Enamorus for a faster Choice Scarf user or a Dragapult/Zamazenta.

    Currently this Okidogi loses to double Regen and any Tera'd Gliscor, I'd give up on the plan of Okidogi breaking stall. Go Bulk Up over Taunt, add SR to Tusk, go Spikes on Skarm, and HDB on Meow. Then you'll be breaking stall much better.

    Thank you, Ive noticed it straight up loses to Zapdos and special attackers in general so I might tweak my defensive core a bit, but I will take your advice on Okidogi and the rest!

    It's definitely not bad, I do have some concerns though. It seems like your team relies VERY heavily on Latios to break, and it's not exactly a reliable breaker. I can't see this team winning against stall, for example. Have you been having trouble against bulkier teams?

    Hmm yea I would say you're solid against Gambit now, it's not ideal but I think it can be outplayed. Testing is king though, see how it does on ladder

    TY, im conflicted beetwen adding roaring moon or brute bonnet, i like roaring moon for the dark STAB and knock off, but also i also like brute bonnets for the Dark stab, and then i alos have something strong agsint rain teams, because of its bulk

    I'd say RM is superior, bonnet isnt doing so hot in the current meta with corvskarm everywhere

    Mainly Gholdengo but the problem I have faced is that often my counters to certain mons get overwhelmed making other mons bug threats. For example, one game a Dnite took out my Lando and Zama swept.

    Oh yea, Zama is a problem for sure. You could go Gambit over Weavile and Pult over Weezing, the another option I see is Defensive Gholdengo over Weezing.

    I prefer the Sinistcha version, Scarf Hrott is a bit iffy on HO. I would also replace Ceruledge, I believe that set is unviable. If you do want to keep it, replace Poltergeist for CC.

    Jokes aside, this is quite well built. I don't think Avalugg is viable but this team utilizes it quite well. I would go Darts on pult though over Draco, since you're running a Sub set.

    I've been watching BKC vids about what separates a good stall team from the bad ones is the 'agression' that its capable of to choke out its opponents. But what separates a good HO team from a bad one aside from breaking ability?

    Lots of things separate good and bad HO. How well sweepers segue into one another, how consistent the leads are, how well unfavorable are accounted for, how many breaking sweepers vs sweeping sweepers, etc.

    I'll give that a shot, but I do like the pure power of raging bolt, do you think maybe an air balloon or lefties heatran over moltres and defog on corv would fit?

    It could? Defog corv is really not ideal alongside Hrott though. I'd advise against it, but give it a test and see how it goes

    I'd say this team has too much power. Not that too much power in itself is a problem, but it indicates that you've let down other areas, in this case sweeper management and speed. Ogerpon-W + CB Dnite is definitely enough on the power side, so try Scarf Trick Darkrai instead-- this is GREAT against HO. I would also recommend Tera Ghost, as you can Tera Ghost and Trick Zamazenta.

    Tera Ghost Alomomola is a great backup Zamazenta check as well, it completely shuts it down.
