PID is almost entirely separate from IVs. Any nature and ability can have any IVs.

You can use either non-C-Gear abuse or C-Gear abuse for whatever you want. You can breed with C-Gear abuse (like me) if you really want to, but everyone will be flocking to Non-C-Gear because of how easy it is. Both methods can be used for breeding and capture, or whatever you want. The one exception is Dream World Pokémon, as you're required to turn the C-Gear on to access them, meaning you'll have to do C-Gear abuse.

C-Gear abuse is delay-based. However, unlike 4th gen where you hit either even or odd, you hit both even and odd meaning you have to be twice as accurate.

As for the egg thing, yes, that's true. The PID (which determines nature, gender, and possibly ability) is not set in stone until you actually receive the egg. Ability is something that's not quite understood this generation. It doesn't work like it did in gen 4.

And sorry, I don't know of any good 5th gen damage calculators.

5th gen is harder than 4th gen if you're doing C-gear. However, once you adapt to it, it feels exactly the same, if not easier. And 4th gen RNG abuse becomes a joke. But non-C-Gear is coming right around the corner (I wouldn't hold your breath if you're using a flashcart, though). Non-C-Gear does not use delay in any way, shape, or form. You just soft reset at the right second, and bam, you hit your seed.

And BPs are harder. 3 IVs are always passed down, and it's nearly impossible to control which ones are. That basically means you need your parents to have the IVs you want on the offspring.

And yes, you can RNG abuse Dream World Pokémon. They can only be done with C-Gear abuse (because you need to turn on the C-gear to get to them), and are almost exactly like Dynamic Wonder Cards. You have to soft reset for the nature.
