Well, with breeding there are two different types of abusing. Abusing that of the PID and the IV's so in this sense it's like 5th gen.
Joey advances both PID and IV by 2. Where as Elm only advances the egg IV by 1.
So since we are going for the PID. Elm doesn't effect your PID's frame. Nor do NPCs or anything of that sort. Except the rain that's by the Bug Gym. Since you won't be going to there for anything, you won't need to bother with that.

As I stated, NPCs only advanced the eggs IVs so it won't matter what how many times an NPC turns before you pick it up.
As long as someone doesn't call you between the time you call Joey to the daycare man having the egg, it won't matter.
Once the daycare man has the egg. The PID is locked to that egg.

First you search for a shiny spread. Nature, gender, ability, etc.
Once you find that, you abuse for it.
After that, search for an IV frame. Find one that will use the correct "hand me down" IVs from the parents to make the baby have the IV set you desire.

5th gen shiny egg abuse by any chance?
If so, it's pretty much exactly like that.
If not. It's exactly like any other breeding except you put your ID/SID in and search for a shiny one.

Have you done shiny abuse ever before? 3rd, 4th, or 5th gen wise?
I don't know about the new reporter, but the one I was using didn't have 4th gen eggs working at all.
So you'll have to find out if it correctly outputs data for 4th gen eggs, try it yourself, or get an earlier version.
