  • Well, it's basically a thread, but social group "threads" are called "discussions." Does that clear it up?
Hmm... That sounds like it could be a really interesting discussion! Go ahead and create a thread for it, if you want!
Well, I would prefer that you verify with me if a discussion is alright.
So at the moment we're primarily an OU focused group, so basically anything to do with that will do. Anything like underrated pokemon, unique cores or just neat strategies to succeed in the metagame. Does that work?
Hey dude I don't know if you know about this site, but if you don't, cool. Since you're so fond of sprites and such, this website is pretty much the best website for animated Pokemon sprites. I use it for all my RMTs.

Yeah, I saw that. Something that struck me was what you said about Heracross. Have you used him in OU before? If so, what set did you use that was so destructive? I'm quite curious, actually.
Thanks! Glad you like it. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the group, don't hesitate to share them with me!
Yeah as False said, Breloom is my favorite competitive, but Sceptile has a special place in my heart as my favorite Pokemon since I played Pokemon Sapphire. He's a badass gecko with knives on his arms...what else is there to say? I've never played RU before, but I'm sure if I did Sceptile would probably be my #1 competitively as well, since he's such a monster in RU. Competitively though my favorites are Breloom, Heatran, Latias, Reuniclus, and Honchkrow.

I always feel like everyone has a list of favorite Pokemon looks and charm wise, and everyone also has a list of favorites that they like to use competitively. Breloom is amazing, and I've never had a really successful team without him. I personally dislike the SD set, it's too predictable. The Technician Focus Punch set is my personal favorite (I was one of the first ones to use it) because the set plays too many mind games, which is what I love about it. Heatran is also one of the only good Fire types in OU, and combined with its great typing and move pool it can really force a lot of switches. Latias is a bulky attacker, and she's very good in today's weather infested meta game. Reuniclus is a new favorite of mine, and although it's hard to use at times, it's a monster in the hands of an experienced player. Honchkrow is insane in UU, and I sweep teams with Honchkrow in UU almost as much as I sweep teams with Reuniclus in OU. It's the equivalent of Salamence in OU, but instead of speed it packs priority. Great frickin Pokemon.
I find the Swords Dance set to really only work as a late game sweeper. You have to play it like so:

    1. Spore something early game
    2. Bring it back out late game only when something else dies and you can force it out
    3. Swords Dance
    4. Sweep

At least, that's how I get it to work. It's so much fun to use :)
I wouldn't really say my top favorite is Zoroark; I just happen to really like it. My all time favorite is Lugia, and probably my favorite competitively is Jirachi.
Although Zoroark IS pretty fun... I like being represented by it.

Oh by the way, Gary's favorite is Sceptile, while his favorite competitively is Breloom.
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. To tell the truth, you were next on my list of people to friend anyway haha. Gotta say, I love your formatting. All of your posts always look so nice and put together well.
Yeah, Dragonite truly is one of the best pokemon around. In comparison to Salamence, while I do prefer Dragonite, they both do things that the other can't. Dragonite doesn't really have the speed (or Moxie) to use a Revenge Killing Choice Scarf set, while Salamence lacks the bulk to run defensive sets. They both have their ups and downs compared to each other and it's really difficult, if not impossible, to say one is flat out better than the other. It really comes down to needs and preferences.

The real question, though, is where are you getting those animated clips?
Haha let me guess, is D-Nite your new favorite now? What happened to Landy?
I'm going to awkwardly join your guy's Dragonite conversation and say:

Oh hey Tabuu! Long time no see... Yeah the truth is that i am not the best at keeping online friendships, so there is that. How am i doing? I recently got into the CAP forum and it has beed really fun. I am also busy writing some OU analyses, as well as QC checking some others! How about you?
Most users of Protect and stalling shenanigans such as Chansey, Blissey, Ferrothorn, and Politoad are taken care of before Reuniclus comes in and sweeps. The only priority that scares Reuniclus is BP from Scizor, which again, is never going to be around when Heatran's still alive.
So what kind of teammates do you use for Dragonite? And do you plan on making an RMT out of this Dragonite team, or what?
Like I said, Dragonite is a godly sweeper. Whether it's your typical hyper offensive approach or my favorite of abusing Multiscale and Substitute, Dragonite can easily destroy teams.
Thats the point. A team based around metagross would definetly be interesting. Also, metagross can be effective if used properly.
I think we should actually make a team based upon poor old metagross. He has really taken a hit, but he isn't that bad.
