Q: How does tiering work for OM Mashups?
A: The primary method of tiering begins with the banlist of the derivative metagames. However, most mashups have additional bans.

If the councils of the derivative metas wish to take an active role in tiering that will be at their discretion. If not then any decisions regarding bans / unbans / suspects will be made by the mashups staff, or by whatever council is set up for a particular meta. If you wish to discuss tiering for the specific tiers feel free to do so in this thread!

Q: So... what exactly should I do in this thread?
A: What you would do in any other meta's thread; post sets, talk about threats and how to check them, post teams, talk about general impressions, etc. However, here you should take care to quote the posts you are responding to and reference specifically which meta you are talking about to avoid confusion.

Q: How can I contribute to the tour code?
A: We'd love to have your contributions! Please contact CringeMeta either here or on showdown and let me know. Please check out our standards for code posted right below to see what we expect for all of our tours.

Standards for tour code

• Must be functional
  • The most obvious, but also extremely important. We cannot make tours using code that has errors that will cause it to fail. This is easily testable using a group chat.
• Must be complete
  • It may be tempting to make shortcuts, such as not banning a competitively unviable Pokemon in a long list of Pokemon. However we require all code to adhere to the banlist it is following in order to avoid complex or arbitrary bans.
• Should be as simplified as possible
  • All of our banlists are subject to be edited and changed as the tiers evolve. A banlist that is neat is much easier to edit than one that is all over the place.
    • Keep like with like (move bans with move bans, clauses with clauses, etc.)
    • Do not have redundant bans or clauses
  • Overall this is subjective and how you choose to keep organized is up to you.

All code can and should be tested at least for validator functionality in a group chat.

Q: I want to host a mashup! What should I do?
A: All hubs must be first approved by OMM leaders. If you wish to have a mashup approved, speak to one of us on Discord and make sure you follow all guidelines listed in the OM Mashups Index. Once approved, post the mashup's hub here! Previously approved mashups do not need to do this; this is a continuation of the old Megathread, but it is heavily suggested you transfer hub posts to here.

Godly Goobers

What is Godly Goobers (and how is it different from LC Godly Gift)?
Godly Goobers is a mashup of Godly Gift in the NFE tier, played at level 5. Instead of having Uber pokemon as your gods, this format uses the NFE tier — first and second stages alike — including non-banned NFE's in ZU and PU (eg: Piloswine, Gligar). This differs from LC Godly Gift, which strictly uses the first stage pokemon banned from LC.

Rules and Pokemon:

Clauses

Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
Evasion Clause: A Pokemon may not have either Double Team or Minimize in its moveset.
Sleep Clause: If a player has already put a Pokemon on his/her opponent's side to sleep and it is still sleeping, another one can't be put to sleep.
Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot intentionally prevent an opponent from being able to end the game without forfeiting.
Level Clause: Pokemon will have their level adjusted to be Lvl. 5.
Godly Gift's Restriction: You may have only one NFE-tiered Pokemon as your 'god'.

AAAlphabet Cup is a mashup between Almost Any Ability and Alphabet Cup! Pokémon have access to almost any ability, and can learn almost any move that starts with the same letter as them or one of their pre-evolutions, on top of the moves they already learn.

What is it?

For those who don't know, or forgot, this format is made up of Fortemons (you can put an offensive move in the itemslot to gain its effects, like Ember passing the burn or X-Scissor passing the Slicing effect), Sketchmons (Pokémon gain access to any one non restricted move in the game), Pokebilities (Pokémon use all their abilities at once), and Almost Any Ability (Pokémon can use any non restricted/banned ability they want). Also keep in mind sketched moves, flinch moves, freeze moves, and accuracy decreasing moves can NOT be used as items.

Clauses:

Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
Evasion Clause: A Pokemon may not have either Double Team or Minimize in its moveset.
Sleep Moves Clause: Bans all moves that induce sleep, such as Hypnosis.
[Gen 9] Pokebilities - Pokémon have all of their released abilities simultaneously. (Also includes Pokebilities bans)

Tier Shift PokeAAAbilities ​

What is TSPokeAAAbilities? It's the combination of Tier Shift Mod, Almost Any Ability, and Pokebilities. In this format, all mons get all their abilities at once (Pokebilities), as well as an additional ability (AAA). Tier Shift Mod is also active so mons in lower tiers get stat buffs. Pokémon below OU get their stats, excluding HP, boosted. UU/RUBL get +15, RU/NUBL get +20, NU/PUBL get +25, and PU or lower get +30.

THE GIFT OF YOUTH ​

_ This is a Metagame that takes a curious spin on others in the way that is presented. ¿What if we make a meta that is an allegory about youth? That sounded dumb and cool at the same time I had to try it.

_ The Meta is based on the tier NFE, which means only not completely evolved mons are available, combined with Godly Gift, Skecthmons and is played at Level 20, making for a rather unique experience. Young pokemon making a team, following a leader and learning something new, discovering new ways to stand out while beeing themselves, truly a poetic way to think about it.

OM´s INVOLVED

• Not Fully Evolved: Also called NFE to abreviate, means that you can´t use Fully Evolved Pokemon
• Sketchmons: Allows you to use one move outside of the Pokemon learnset, as long as it isn´t banned (can´t be used even by native learners) or restricted (can only be used by native learners)
• Godly Gift: In this meta you can have one restricted Pokemon denominated as 'God'. This God inherits one of his Base Stats to other team member depending on his position on the Team. Below is a table on how the stats are inherited

EV´s BUILDING

_ Pretty similar to Little Cup, but easier in the practice, at Level 20, the EV´s you had to apply to your stats for the first increase depends in the second digit of the stat, and after this, you add 20 for every point you´re adding. "¿How does this works?"

_ Taking Trademarked (Status Moves in Ability Slot) as the base format, and adding the Pokebilities (all abilities are active at the same time) rules/mod, this allows you to, not only use the trademark has an ability, but having all of you're standard abilities at the same time so you can efectively have up to 4 abilities.

_ For example, a with Iron Defense as a Trademark, not only has a +2 Defense at switch-in, but also Pressure, Defiant and Supreme Overlord.

FAQ

• Why my Booster Energy don´t work?

_ Because both the Booster Energy and the Trademark work on switch-in, because of a bug the Trademark gets priority and override Protosynthesis/Quark Drive in the actions at the start of the turn. However Electric Terrain Trademark on a Quark Drive Mon still works, same with Sunny Day on a Protosynthesis

• Why my burned Guts mon is doing less damage instead of more?

_ Due to Pokebilities not being the base format, it doesn´t coordinate the burned status with Guts. However, poison does work

• What happens with Trace?

_ It copies the opponent trademark after using the trademark of the holder of the ability, and due to a convenient rule of Trademarked, it blocks the use of it in that same turn, it still copies it, activating it in the next turn and even if it seems to be trying to copy it again, because that Trademark was already used, it didn´t uses it. It generates a lot of text, but is actually not harmful to the turn progression

• Why using Transform as a Trademark doesn´t copy the effect of the opponent Trademark?

_ Because you can only use one Trademark, and your mon already used his trademark

• Why the form changing abilities overrides the Trademark?

_ Basically because is not the exact same mon that have entered the battlefield with the Trademark asigned, so it get´s removed

• Why Levitate doesn´t work?

_ Entirely unknown reasons

_ Just as an extra, we are still fixing some "complex rules" on the code so they work properly

INHERIMONS CUP​

This is a crazy OM Mashup Idea in which is combined Inheritance, Alphabet Cup and Camomons!

So, how this works?

Inheritance allows you to inherit other Pokemon Movepool and Ability, giving up the originals. With Alphabet Cup, you also can give the Alphabet Moves of that Pokemon! This work for all the moves that start with the same letter of the Pokemon name. For example, an Iron Hands inherited from a Kingambit, not only has the Base Kingambit Movepool, but also almost every move that start with P, B and K.

With Camomons you can change the type of your Pokemon to the type of the moves in your first two moveslots.

This allows for crazy combinations that can change a lot of things

BWPUAAATD is an OM mash-up between Almost Any Ability & Twisted Dimensions. The tier uses PU by usage pokemon in gen 5 & has a custom banlist to accommodate the changes from the base format.

Clauses:

• Sleep Moves Clause - Players cannot use moves that inflict or otherwise lead to inflicting sleep on foes, such as Sleep Powder or Yawn.
• Species Clause - A player cannot have two of the same species of Pokémon on their team, based on the National Pokédex Number. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on their team.
• Evasion Clause - Players cannot use Double Team or Minimize in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
• OHKO Clause - Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.

I think we were talking about this with waffle04 AquiIo and Ghoulish Champ a while ago but it didn't really go anywhere. The speed tier is REALLY good at 20 base, it's only outsped by Munchlax, Shuckle, Pineco (who can't do anything to it) and Trapinch (among the really common mons), and 105 SpAtk is also fairly strong for the BWPUAATD standard, but it still doesn't seem that egregious to me personally.

I remember waffle had some pretty strong feelings about this one though, so maybe he'll better be able to explain why this is banned (for now). Keep in mind the meta hasn't seem much activity lately but we're definitely gonna review the bans somewhere down the line now that OMMs have their own forum :)

It is simply too fast & strong for what it is in the tier. Energy ball hits all the grounds/rocks, Psychic stab is pretty much unresisted barring either low sp. def mons like lairon or needing niche pokemon like klang or darks like zweilious & pawniard. Even then, hp fighting & signal beam in conjunction with techs like substitute let it bypass these checks as well as hamper revenge killing. Also, early in the meta duosion, solosis & beheeyem were all legal leading to a very degenerate psyspam meta where you had 3 pokemon of various but similar stats doing the same thing.

We found duosion the strongest, trading its uber fast 20 speed for a still fast 30 (ties magcargo, sunflora & slower than rhyhorn) for massive special attack & much improved bulk. Anything faster couldn't kill it while it killed back and it could outlast bulkier checks with recovery. Solosis was banned next because of the ridiculous speed tier that only 3 pokemon jump (shuckle, munchlax, trapinch) while still being nearly as strong. Solosis does have an analog in trapinch but there are a few key differences. 1. Physical pokemon have way more consistent switch-ins 2. Psychic stab is broken in the tier 3. Trapinch needs an ability like guts to reliably boost power which cuts into longevity & already abmyssal bulk whereas solosis has recover & can run magic guard if wanted to preserve itself in the long game 4. Because of the previous points, trapinch can be horrendous into stat-stick pokemon however solosis does not have this issue.

After those two were removed beheeyem has stuck around as an unwallable nuke with similar traits & even better bulk however, the speed tier is worse than both which makes it more susceptible to revenge killing. That said, it is the only pokemon currently on the radar because even despite the worse speed it is incredibly difficult to deal with.

Convergence Pokebilites Hub​

What is Convergence Pokebilites?: Convergence Pokebilities is a mashup between Convergence and Pokebilities. This means that the pokemon shares a movepool and abiltiy list of all the pokemon with the exact same type (ei. Charizard and Talonflame share but not Charizard and Torkoal) and all of their released abilities are active. This means a Charizard could converge gale wings from Talonflame and still have Solar Power and Blaze.

Well luckily for you the OMs damage calculator allows you to combine Mix and Mega, Tier Shift, and Scalemons, showing a pokemon's pre- and post-Mega Evolution stats. Here is an extremely simplified version of how the Pokemon work in this format. Lets take and break it down.
Normally Greedent is a pretty horrid Pokemon in almost all formats, but in Ultra Mix is where it can finally shine.

Just looking at Greedent's scaled stats you can kind of already see why its good in Ultra Mix, as with Tier Shift it gets some respectable bulk with 120/164/135 stats and being anything but passive with 164 attack. Plus, with the letters S and G, Greedent has access to many support and damaging moves such as Stone Axe, Sacred Fire, Gigaton Hammer, Shore Up, Swords Dance, Spikes, and more. However, Greedent's stats are not the only thing getting scaled here as the Mega Stone buffs it gets are also scaled by the same boost Greedent gets. For example, if you gave Greedent Latiosite, instead of getting the normal +100 bst with 40/20/30/10 additions, Latiosite's stats would instead multiply by the scaling Greedent received (which is what Greedents stats are scaled by) giving Greedent +56 Attack, 28 Defense 42 Special Attack, and 14 Special Defense, for a total of +140 stats. This means lower BST Pokemon benefit more from Mega Stone boosts.
