Yea timing is a huge part of it, it's something you get by playing more. Some of the trails do feel really hard too lol, I haven't finished anyone's completely because I can't FADC into a combo

I'm not sure I'm the best to ask but what I did was just progress naturally, doing trials/harder modes on arcade and eventually online and you just pick things up, I'm use Ken most and he doesn't have like a huge amount of different combos so remembering things becomes easier using him, character does matter and idk if I'd go with someone like Yun or Yang while picking the game up

It's not too bad. Granted, there are times when I've wished I had one, but nothing on that moveset can really go. I suppose, I could run some calcs and see if Flare Blitz OHKO'd Landorus, which is all HP Ice is really there for. Except for Gliscor and when I don't want to risk a miss on Dnite/Salamence

Well, TTar itself is a bt of a problem, along with the common sandstorm pokes. I've devised this set though, to replace Dnite:

Infernape (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 200 Atk / 104 SAtk / 204 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

It outspeeds and OHKOs Scarf Landorus with HP Ice after SR. If it's a Naive Landorus, it will always OHKO. It also KOs TTar with CC as well as doing damage to lots of the other common sandstorm pokes. I've added Stone Edge because I was having some trouble with Volcarona too. I was considering Max Speed to tie with Scarf Terrakion, but a tie is too risky imo and would leave little room for investing in Attack

Looking at your profile and group memeberships, it looks like you have been at Smogon a lot longer than I have and are probably have a lot more in depth knowledge of pokemon than I have.
I am in a group for GBU battlers and I know that you might not play on the GBU much, but we are trying to liven up the group. I was thinking about maybe comparing GBU style with 3 pokemon to the PO type single battle with 6 pokemon. Maybe you can help contribute to the discussion?
