Hopefully you get the right delay and you press the button after the journal page quickly enough so your frame doesn't change. If a NPC moves, or if you accidentally change the journal pages, if you click your poketch or anything.. you've changed your frame.

Then you do your calibration to find out what frame that egg is on so you can abuse it's IV's. You need to be checking it 3 times ish and if it's all on the same frame, or most of the frames end up on say... 8. You pick that frame when you go look for the various spreads and find a time! (I always use parents IV's btw so make sure you know them first and in what order you put them in.) You'd search on frame 8, delay 604, how many seconds you take to get into the game, and then whatever date you want or the best one you can find. Change the date to that, change the time to one minute before you're supposed to get the pokémon egg at. So.. if it's 14:01:15 (I take 15 secs to get into the game) you change the time on the DS to 14:00:00 and wait one minute, then at 14:01 you start smashing buttons! ;)

Well, say you already have the correct egg at the daycare man, you can get the right egg by just soft resetting and breeding like you would normally do without RNG to get the right nature, gender and ability. You then save at a spot in front of the daycare man in a way you like the NPC's around.. preferably when they're standing still! Then change the date to at least 2 days later or earlier. Make sure next time you log in that all the journal says is "started in solaceon Town" nothing else. You get past the journal page quickly by pressing start.

Btw, if you're breeding in platinum you don't need journal flips. o.0 In fact, you don't want to change your frame at all. =P All you want to appear on the journal first page when you "log in to the game" is "Started in Solaceon Town" or whatever. =) If it says anything else your frame will in most cases change.. The reason for doing calibration is to find out what frame the egg is on, and then you want to hit that frame and the correct delay when abusing for the egg's IV's. ^^
