Ah, ok, I see what you're saying now. The problem is that in Platinum, you can't advance the frame by 1. Journal flips only go in twos. So it's a big problem if I'm trying to hit an even frame with an odd initial frame.

I don't have Elm calls in Platinum. What we use instead of Elm calls is the journal. It advances the frame by 2 for every flip.

However, to save myself the time, I selected a frame of 10, which would be the equivalent of frame 3 in HGSS. It requires no advancing.

Now here's the problem. When I pick the egg up on a seed with frame 10, I hit frame 11. In HGSS this would be the equivalent of trying to hit 3 and getting 4.

So I figured I was doing something wrong and selected a seed with frame 11, which would be like picking 4. And when I do that, I collect my egg and it's on frame 3.

This happens no matter what I've done. 3 turns into 4, and 4 turns into 3. And I can't figure out why.
