Hah, no need to be so apologetic ;) It's just one of those things I've noticed at least through your VMs.
I've also been looking for private housing and there's pros and cons to both of them. Who knows how much it changes from the US to the UK but i.e, I've noticed that private housing can have issues like laundry, internet stability, and lack of social life (although residential halls can have a bit too much of that, specially for a postgrad like myself :P) Dunno, too bad there's not a dream room option to go to :D
