  • btw, just in reply to this: "Okay, I kinda get it. You can sketch the move of one of your pokémon in a double battle." Double battles are the best way to teach moves to a Smeargle. If you try to just sketch a move from an enemy it gets frustrating, because Sketch only has 1PP and if they use the wrong move then you need to try over again (heal your Smeargle's PP or just soft-reset). Much better to control the situation in a double battle, by using the chosen move by your 2nd 'mon and having Smeargle Sketch the move from it. It only gets tricky when the move that you want to Sketch manages to slay both opponents or blocks Sketch. If Sketching Earthquake you'd want to find a double battle where at least one of the enemy pokemon are flying type or have levitate or the battle will end before you Sketch earthquake...

    I feel the same way about Vappy's moveslots! I want to fit HP electric in there too, otherwise it's the same moves you mentioned there. 7 moves would be perfect haha.
    I'm glad the Smeargle helps that much then! That makes me happy. It was worth running to catch the train and forgetting my umbrella!! lololll good thing it didn't rain on me (yet). XDDD
    I'll help you get whatever you need, whenever I can! Just name it. Especially egg moves, since I've had a lot of practice dealing with breeding chains/smeargles. (EDIT: egg move purposes are why I filled my Diamond version boxes with nearly every breedable Poke there was up until Gen IV, so chances are if there's a breeding chain needed I have access to it)

    at least... you can use the Smeargles egg moves, and his Bold Nature+everstone to help you get your RNG'd offspring, yes? It's something...

    Edit: I mean, as soon as you get a good IV'd male offspring with the egg moves you can dispose of this Smeargle. ;)
    I agree, Espeon and Umbreon are great looking, and those blue rings are so cool. I enjoy the looks of Glaceon too but I've never found a good enough use for that one yet. Espeon and Vaporeon are my favourites for looks, because the fish tail/frills on Vappy are just cool and Espy is so sleek. <3
    In gen IV I have a Wish/Substitute/Baton Pass/Surf Vaporeon which has helped my team out a lot. Passing Subs to Volcarona sounds like a nice strategy since he doesn't share much in terms of weaknesses with Vappy. Vaporeon was my first favourite in LeafGreen, because water types were everywhere and I enjoyed switching her into Surfs to heal her. Flareon is pretty cute but it's a shame he can't learn a strong physical fire type move (...flareon blitz?lol)... well not without the help of that glitch in HeartGold anyway. There's an in game glitch which can help to teach him any move, so technically I can get 'Blitz on him just only with his old ability and some people consider exploiting this glitch not legit. XD~

    omg that Smeargle's IVs... I'd hoped they were better than that! I knew that I only kept triple flawless Smeargle hatchlings and let the singles and doubles go, but I didn't know his other 3 stats would be 8/5/8 LOL!! >_<#

    Ah well, IV breeding fail. That's what happens when you leave IVs up to chance! *O*
    I do have a Japanese male DW Espeon but it doesn't have very great IVs. I can pass you a .pkm file of it anyway if you like. ; )

    I chose a Smeargle out of my Smeargle box randomly because of his gender/nature. Bold might help you when you're breeding Vaporeons. Most of the other Smeargles had neutral natures for some reason. I had been breeding them to try for nice IVs and wasn't aiming for a specific nature yet so they're random.

    O.O I'm so excited about these female DW Eevees! I want to eventually make myself a shiny DW Vaporeon (maybe with HP Electric!) and a non shiny DW Espeon (green Espeon isn't as pretty as purple in my opinion... it is cool for being odd but I like purple ones a little better esthetically). Not too sure yet if the other Eeveelutions are much good with their new abilities. Which ones are you most excited about?
    It's easier to get moves on Smeargles in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum than it is in the newer games. HG/SS have a lack of double battles that can be re-challenged, and B/W doesn't have a VS Seeker either so I had to run through the double grass until I found a double battle to use. ; )
    Diamond version has these twins south of Floaroma town that have a pair of low levelled Pachirisu. I miss the Versus Seeker... it was so useful for EV training and Smeargle making.

    I had decided to try it one more time before jogging out my door and I was happy when it finally connected. He's one of my random IV bred Smeargles from Gen IV about a month ago... but I'm not sure what the exact IVs are because I lost track of my Smeargle babies (and hadn't bothered to mark them), so I hope he's a good base to start your breeding from! XD
